𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐍 | Dueling B&M Flying Coaster
Mount the mythical hybrid creature!
You know how much I love making dueling coasters, so the ultimate challenge for me was to create one with the Flying coaster model. I'm really pleased with the end result, especially considering how hard it is to make a realistic layout within the game. For instance I would've really wanted the big camelback to make a half-twist upwards the hill so it essentially becomes half a Zero G roll. But, since that isn't possible in OpenRCT2 (yet?) I decided to stick with the camelback and have a somewhat intense section where riders lay on their back.
I think I really nailed the dueling and racing part. Even though in the video the same side wins each time you have to trust me when I say that the weight of the guests actually decide the winner! They are completely synced up, despite having different track lengths.

OpenRCT2 wont run.
Hi, I just installed the latest development build of the game and now it won't open anymore.
I need to find a way to pass this warning.
Question
Is openrct2online.com made by the same person as openrct2.io ?
Is the web browser version safe? Why is there like no documentation on it?
Thanks!
Tilt-A-Whirl (improved)
After the largely positive reaction to my last post, I figured you'd want to see the ride actually running. So, here it is, doing a full cycle in a large park I use for ride testing.
After receiving feedback that my sprites looked "flat", I incorporated a two-stage dithering process that utilizes an optimized Floyd-Steinberg algorithm on the static ride frame and a content-aware Atkinson algorithm for the animated parts (riders are never dithered). We also refined the color remapping process to provide control over the catch tolerance for each zone, which gives us much more precise results with essentially zero artifacts.
This one sits on a 7x7 base, just because I wanted the extra space to offset it on the platform. I filled in the back area with landscaping to make it look like it's on a 6x6.
We've also deeply redesigned the custom ride system that these rides are running on; it's way more refined and robust now. [CUSTOM_FLAT_RIDE_GENERIC] is becoming an immensely versatile and powerful architecture that supports pretty much endless ride designs. The limits now are the global sprite pool limit of 1,000,000 and the nuances of paint functions that play nice with huge sprites. I misspoke about the large sprite format pre-existing in the engine earlier- it's actually an extension I created of the existing small sprite format. Apologies for that.
...I know some people have strong opinions about what I'm doing, and that's completely fine. I'm just having fun making stuff; I'm on my own custom fork, customizing this game, trying new things to see what sticks and what doesn't. Let me know what you guys think, I welcome critiques (just please don't be a d**k about it) and I'm legitimately curious to hear if this is a project people would be interested in. What rides would you want to see?
Thanks so much for all the kind comments last time, they really motivated me to refine the design and animation for this ride. I'll post my Chance Freestyle next, if that's something you'd like to see- it's got a pretty cool sequence.
Cheers :)
EDIT: Video compression kind of nuked the dithering. It's in there, I promise! Video doesn't really do it justice.
𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐀 | B&M Launched Wing Coaster | Ride Video
You've awakened the gods, now face the consequences!
Hi everyone! I'm back with yet another coaster design. I've wanted to make a Wing Coaster for a while now, but never really got my designs to feel realistic. Until a few weeks ago! For some reason it clicked and I quickly made the basic layout for this project. After some tweaking and adding details and stuff of course I present to you...

Roller coaster with the largest helixes?
I am trying to recreate Ride of Steel from Six Flags Darien Lake. Are there any coasters with extremely large helix track pieces?
𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐍 | Dueling B&M Flying Coaster | Video coming next week!
The orange side is called Lion and the blue side Eagle, since the mythical Griffin (or Griffon/Gryphon, all are correct spellings) is a hybrid between a lion and an eagle.
The coaster duels and races in a perfect way where the winner is unpredictable - it really depends on the weight of the guests which side wins!
Let me know what you think of it!
How does one play this?
I have rct classic on steam. Is that all I need?
Arowana | B&M Inverted Coaster | Using the new track pieces!
Feel like a predator in the water! With the addition of the new pieces for the Inverted Coaster it was finally time to recreate one of my favorite coaster models out there: The B&M Invert. These rides are known for their intensity and inversion filled layouts. This is also my first project where I've used custom scenery objects (CSO) so bear with me as I dive into that rabbit hole. I also made a (very) short intro to the video. Let me know if you liked it or not! Hope you enjoy a ride on Arowana!

Feature Suggestion - Holiday/Vacation Mode
Often you'll have scenarios where the goal is some way off and you've effectively already completed it. You're just left waiting for time to play out. You can put the speed forward to 4x but this still often takes a very long time.
My suggestion is to have a holiday mode, there's a similar feature in the Football Manager series. You click an option "Holiday" and a menu comes up. In the menu you can set various options for when you return
E.g. - on a particular date, when number of guests hits X, when money hits Y, when a ride crashes. Once you've finalised the settings you click "Go on Holiday", the game then goes into Hyperspeed until one of the requisite conditions is met.

Planned web server maintenance for OpenRCT2, RCT Archive
On Friday (26 June), maintenance will be carried out on the web server that hosts openrct2.io, as well as all sites from the RCT Archive. During this maintenance, the websites may not be accessible at times.
This does not affect the game itself or the OpenLauncher. If necessary, release builds can be downloaded directly here, while development builds can be downloaded here.
