For some reason I have a spreadsheet which says that the maximum CPU for the Optiplex 7010 (2023) is the i5-13600K (125W), yet you would be much wiser to use an i5-13600 (65W).
The 65W range goes up to an i5-13900. Has anyone got any experience in trying anything over the i5-13600 range?
I'm trying to use an Optiplex 7080 sff motherboard and use it with an i5 11400 and 1660 ti, but the Dell power supply for this model only has 200W. How can I combine this with another power supply for sufficient power? Also, are there any optimizations I can do with this PC?
It was working fine with Windows 11, but when I tried to replace it with Debian 12 something messed up. I shredded the USB stick partition, redownloaded the Debian 12 iso, and now it gives me the error "TPM Device Not Detected". I can't find any trace of it in the BIOS settings (1.27.0) but when I ran the Pre-boot System Assessment it says every test was passed. So now I'm not sure if something is even physically wrong.
The Pc suddenly turn off with a constant orange blinking. I turn it off and tried to turn it on again but it didn't work, I replace the cmos battery, place the ram stick in different slots and still no power. I tested the power supply with multimeter and all pins seems to be working just fine. Could the mother board be dead or are there other ways to test if the motherboard is dead?
So, I bought a i7 11700 thinking that I could just swap CPU with the i5 10500 included in the optiplex (and changing the PSU) without doing any research beyond that
But now I'm seeing that Dell locked the BIOS and that I can't really do that
I've found several tutorials about flashing the BIOS, but non for the 3080 and I'm afraid of doing something wrong....
Can anyone steer me on the right direction please 😭 ???
