Moon Palace Punta Cana - Late July 2026

Looking to book for last week of July, but concerned that the water park won't be open yet for our 12 and 14 year olds. Does anyone have any intel to share? I tried talking with an agent just now and ended up confused by his report (should be open...resort not yet open until June...won't be a problem...can't say for sure) - so figured I might bypass the staff talking points.

Booking with membership referral

Hi everybody,

I’m looking to book a stay at moon palace and heard that booking with membership referrals can get you better deals than booking elsewhere. I’d be my first time going to this hotel and was wondering if this is true, what’s the experience like booking through referrals and whether they follow similar rules like other resorts I.e sitting in time share presentations, etc.

Don’t get the membership, DONT DO IT!!!

Be careful before buying a membership with Palace Elite / Palace Resorts.

I was told that after paying for a 7-night BPG stay, I would generate 3 free nights for my next vacation. Now that I’m trying to use those “free nights,” they are telling me I need to book and pay for another 7-night stay first, otherwise I cannot use them.

Also, the “Anniversary Nights” are NOT actually free nights. They are discounted nights, not complimentary stays like many people may think during the sales presentation.

Another thing people should know is that once they sell you the membership, everything changes. During the sales process they treat you amazingly and promise to help you with reservations, discounts, upgrades, and benefits. But after you sign the contract and pay, if you contact the salespeople again for help understanding your nights, discounts, or benefits, many of them respond with very little interest or help you reluctantly. At the end of the day, it feels like it’s all business, and once you sign, you are no longer important to them.

Make sure you fully understand the rules, restrictions, blackout dates, and conditions before signing anything. Ask for everything in writing and read the contract carefully.

In my opinion, if you can avoid buying the membership, think twice before doing it.

Inherited a Palace Premier membership

Hi!

My grandparents are handing off to me a membership for Palace Premier that is for 100 weeks that they got back in 2010. I'm trying to figure out what this actually is and how to use it. I've seen mention that this might be a worthless purchase they made?

Trying to understand what I have here and where to start.

Moon Palace Grand Tips

Heading to the grand next week and looking for any tips and tricks to get the most out of it. 2 adults 2 kids (10/12).

Is it safe enough to drop off kids at water park and go do an adult date ? Or all kids must be supervised? We typically go to beaches resorts which has a drop off for kids so didn’t know if this was unique to them or all resorts.

We aren’t used to tipping (again beaches spoiled us), but we bringing tip money. Is there a rule of thumb of how much and when? Do you tip each drink or one time at beginning?

We brought our own insulated cups to beaches, do we do the same thing for moon palace? Or will they have cups ?

Thanks in advance. Brain is spiraling

Heading to this resort for the first time in a few weeks for our anniversary. Any special recommendations for dinners and activities? Things I should be aware of?

Can we switch resorts?

Wondering if anyone has done this before. We are currently on our honeymoon and at Nizuc. The atmosphere is not great, no one alerted us that there would be a gymnastics competition this whole weekend. The service has been bad overall. We have 7 nights left and I want to truly enjoy my vacation.

The Grand or Punta Cana?

Trying to decide between Moon Palace The Grand or the new Moon Palace Punta Cana for a January trip. Looking at either a swim up suite at the Grand Cancun or an ocean view room in Punta Cana (price is similar). Traveling with a 13 and 17 year old. Previously have stayed at Sun Palace, Beach Palace and Moon Palace Jamaica. Had a blast at all 3 but the kids are getting older and get bored...hoping that these bigger resorts will give them more to do. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!
