Surf fishing/Pier fishing/Jettie fishing

We care coming down the 29th thru the 6th. I’m looking to fish during any down time I have what so ever. I’ve got mostly your standard surf set ups (couple 10ft setups, 12ft setup, and a couple setups for throwing swimbaits, etc.) but I’m used to fishing Alabama gulf coast. Is it a big change for anyone that’s fished both? I’m just looking to catch fish. Not specifically targeting anything obviously I’d like to hook a few that pull some drag but overall just wanting to enjoy the fishing down there for the first time.

I’ll take any and all advice on surf, pier, jettie. I’ll probably be kind of restricted to late evening/night, early morning, and midday (my kids nap time)

Thanks!

Weather this weekend?

Heading to Panama City Beach this weekend and trying to figure out what to expect weather-wise. I’m seeing a mix of sun/clouds with possible scattered afternoon storms, but forecasts seem all over the place.
For anyone local or already there:
Is it still looking beach-worthy most of the day?
Are the rain chances usually quick passing storms or all-day washouts?
How’s the wind/water been lately?
Trying to decide how worried I should be about the forecast 😂 Thanks!

I want to do something for my fiancee

I'm not sure where to post this, but my mom passed in 2019 and I have been unable to get a hold of my sister lately to bounce ideas off her

I am currently in the process of going through the k1 visa process to bring my fiance here to spend our lives together and I want to do a little celebration/ceremony

All I can seem to think about are big, grandeous events and am unable to conceptualize something small

I want it to be a celebration of her coming over and a celebration of us being together, I plan on doing it with my family at my childhood home but I just don't know how to make it feel special vs just a visit to see where I grew up

I don't even know if I'm explaining that right, hopefully someone has some ideas or can point me to a subreddit that could get me some ideas

Owner Perspective: Shores of Panama

looking to buy a condo at Shores of Panama Resort at 9900 Thomas Drive. Any insights on the building, current and future assessments, HOA, and ease of selling/financing?

I have lived here and am aware of the party atmosphere and elevator issues.

I am seeking input from current owners on the financial risk of ownership in this building and the HOA. This intended purchase is for income and personal enjoyment.

Looking for a long term rental in PCB, can pay a full year in advance.

I am relocating to PCB to open a sandwich/gyro joint, I just sold my 5 restaurants last year so I'm not an idiot that wants to or has a dream to open a restaurant lol. Looking for a rental in the area. Single male, good credit, my adult daughter will visit occasionaly. I prefer to be in the touristy areas, I am from the Lake of the Ozarks and used to it. Keeping my home there so I will probably be here 60% of the time. 2 bedrooms ideal, furnished would be great but not a deal breaker, no pets.

St. Andrew’s coffee shop?

would love some recommendations for coffee or matcha shops walking distance from St. Andrew’s Marina. Yes, I could’ve asked Google but I’d love a real recommendation for something locally owned. Bonus points if they also have pastries that are locally made

Looking for best breakfast recommendations for PCB

My wife and I spend two weeks in PCB every August, and usually frequent places such as The Donut Hole and Pancakery. Both are fantastic, but looking for more options. Could be 30A, St Andrews, anywhere around the city.

Place Like Gulf Highlands but better/newer?

Me and my inlaws vacation down here a few times a year and the last several we've stumbled into Gulf Highlands and have enjoyed its quiet nature and easy private access to the beaches. I am just wondering if there is something similarly setup but maybe a bit updated, nicer resorts pools, and a better on site restaurant than GH has. Don't get me wrong, it's worked for some time, I'm just curious what else is out there, hoping the grass is a bit greener elsewhere lol.

Winn Dixie Liquor Alternative??

I just went to Donovan's and man, prices were like double what I always paid at Winn Dixie liquor! So sad they are gone! Anything on the west-ish side around there that is cheaper than Donovan's? Thanks in advance!

Recycling Help

Hi all - I am a staunch environmentalist and am here with my family. I've visited previously but am usually in a position to drive all of my recycling materials back home. I am here this time without a car and won't be able to do that this time.

I know the city does not collect recycling (abhorrent considering the natural landscapes you'd think ought to have better protection and care) but wanted to ask if there are any private services that I might be able to call and pick up my recyclable waste? I'm primarily interested in aluminum which is infinitely recyclable!

Please be kind and do not take this opportunity to argue with me about the efficacy or realities of recycling. Thank you for any help you all can provide!

Birthday cake

We will be in PCB on my 5 year old's birthday and will need a small birthday cake. It doesn't have to be fancy, but he would like some sort of theme. We don't want a fully custom cake as we are open to a variety of kid friendly themes. Last year we were in Destin and a beach themed cake from Win Dixie did the job.

Anything like that around PCB? We will be in the center, closer to West side.

Tribute to Miracle Strip

Got this tattooed on me yesterday. Was born and raised in Panama City Beach and got this tribute to when I used to go to Miracle Strip in the mid/late 90s and early 2000s before they closed. Shoutout to Hadley Hansen at The Point Tattoo in Tampa, FL for doing the work.

Good resort with nice tiki bars, restaurants, pools, good for a single guy in his 30s?

I might be heading down to PCB the second week of June with some family. However, I would be spending maybe three nights or so by myself at a resort. I will not have a vehicle myself, so I would either be picked up by family or use Ubers and Lyfts.

I was looking for any recommendations of a nice resort with tiki bars, hot tubs, pools, restaurants, coffee shop, etc.. Close beach access. Something classy but laid back, good for a single 37 year old guy to have a drink and chill maybe meet nice folks.

Thanks
