iPhone 17 Pro leather cases

My benchmark for how a leather case should look and feel is based on the official Apple case for the iPhone 12. For the record, the thing fell apart after years of use and a few drops, so wasn't particularly great aside from offering that bit of protection.

Since official cases aren't an option I'd ideally like a case that doesn't have a visible brand logo on the back. Additionally I'd prefer one that doesn't have an open cut along the bottom.

Based on research so far, that puts YMW Crazy Horse as the front runner, which is further aided by low pricing, but will the leather feel/look cheap compared to alternatives?

The only other non branded ones I've seen is are Australian brand Livid, and Ryan London, which are both more expensive and have an open cut bottom.

I'm aware of other branded options like Bullstrap, Andar, Tekmomo, Lumazi, Lumazi, Nomad

Apple iPhone 12 case after 5 years

Not quite the aesthetic outcome I anticipated when I first got this case. I will say though that it prevented damage to my phone against a couple of waist-height drops.

Since I have just now bought the 17 Pro and since Apple don’t do leather anymore, I am likely to get a YMW case since they seem well priced without an intrusive logo

Lost Dutchman Leather Mini Franklin Wallet

I’ve had this Lost Dutchman Leather Mini Franklin Wallet for almost exactly 6 months now. I came from a Ridge wallet which I carried for nigh on 10 years! I really did love that wallet, it’s what converted me to a front pocket wallet guy. It was looking tired though and I just wanted to switch it up.

Ended up with this Mini Franklin wallet. Overall, I really like it! The size and weight are fantastic. The leather feels soft and smooth after break in, which took a little while. Maybe 2 months of daily carry. Prior to break in it was a bit stiff.

I don’t have many complaints but I will say, I have 6 cards and 1 cash bill right now and the cards are not tightly held and are very easy to get out, which is nice! However, once you increase the paper bills or the card count to 7-8, it gets pretty tight. Not impossibly tight but certainly takes more effort and is slightly less convenient.

Overall, I’m a big fan and thinking of ordering a second wallet from them!

Need help: Tekmomo Origin Brown or Sofi Blue? (for long-term use)

I’m about to buy two Tekmomo leather cases for my black iPhone 17. One will definitely be black, but I can’t decide whether my second one should be Origin Brown or Sofi Blue.

I plan to keep this phone for 5–7 years and these will probably be the only two cases I’ll use during that time. I’ve heard great things about Tekmomo’s leather quality, so I see them as a long-term investment rather than something I’ll replace every 1-2 years. My biggest concern is how the leather will look after years of use.

I like the idea of patina, but I want it to look elegant and refined, not dirty or overly worn. I work in professional settings, so I’d still like the case to look good if I pull my phone out during a meeting. But I’m also not the type of person who wants to baby a leather case or spend time maintaining it. I want to use it normally and let it age naturally.

Most people seem to love the Origin Brown because of its patina, but I can barely find any long-term photos or experiences with the Blue leather. So for those who have owned either (or both):

- Which color ages better over several years?
- Does the Blue leather develop an attractive patina or does it tend to look uneven or worn?
- If you could only own Black + one other color for the next 5–7 years, would you choose Origin Brown or Sofi Blue and why?

Bullstrap Sienna

I received an offer for a Bullstrap case that I couldn’t pass up so I pulled the trigger. This thing is beautiful. I immediately felt the softness of the leather right out of the box. Some parts of it felt dry but I expected that since it was in the mail so long. I can’t wait for this case to patina, I’ve heard it’s the best one from Bullstrap.

This is my new belt, made from J&FJ Baker oak-tanned bridle, paired with a solid copper roller buckle that's picking up a very interesting layer of oxidation.

Apple Magsafe Leather Case 6 months update

iPhone 14 plus. had these in a store clearance bin for $5 each, couldn’t pass up such a deal. Even though it doesn’t feel as nice, I still dig the way it looks and honestly it’s a great conversation starter due to my phone standing out so much(didn’t expect it myself). If not for the scuff on the top that exposes the plastic shell I probably would’ve gotten a full year out of it.

Despite the leather not being very high quality and the distinct brown being just a coat of paint on the top, it feels really nice and after trying multiple different cases I keep coming back to this one.

Lumazi Winterberry day 1 > week 1

This has been my favorite leather case out of my collection of leather cases. I’m loving the color of the slight patina coming in and I’m excited for it to come in even more. It’s just so pretty and the red on blue looks so nice imo.

Tekmomo Leather Cases

Hi, I’m intending to get the Tekmomo Leather Cases for my 17PM. There is this category called bruised edition MagSafe cases where prices are half of the usual cases. Anyone tried these ‘bruised edition’ cases?

Thank you.

Got my first full-grain wallet

Just got this beautiful minimalist full-grain vegetable-tanned leather wallet made from a single guy out of Lithuania. Cost me just 35 euros (after discounts).

Really excited to see how the patina turns out!

Note. The personalised engraving was requested by me.
