Me and my boyfriend are having an argument wether there is or isn't peacocks/peafowl in Nebraska. I have the books "Birds of Nebraska field guide" by Stan Tekiela. The other book I have is "Field Guide to Birds of North America" by Edward S. Brinkley. In the two books I've looked for the bird but I couldn't find them. Could someone please help me either prove that I'm right or please explain to me where I can find a book with the bird so I have the correct information.

White peacock

Seen today in a German zoo. He and all the other peacocks are allowed to freely roam the whole zoo area. We were lucky to get these shots!

As I just learned, this is not an albino bird, it is a special peacock breed! / Edit: Not a breed, it’s a mutation, thanks for the correction! (An albino would have red eyes - he doesn’t.)

Peachicks with chickens

can you keep peachicks with chickens at all? I have 8 female chickens, and was looking to get a peahen. My peacock is around 1 and a half years now, and is growing back his tail for mating season.

They currently all live in the same coop and get along great! they all sleep together too.

I’ve heard that the peachicks can get quite sick living with chickens. do you have an advice for raising peachicks, without them getting sick?

Help with Peachick

Hello!! I have two pea chicks that hatched last Sunday evening and Monday. The white one is super energetic and always moving, but my (assuming) brown shoulder one is super lethargic. I can’t find my brooder thermometer, but I took the chicks body temp with a regular digital thermometer and it was 97*, not optimal tools, I understand. I’m trying to get her to drink water along with some chick feed mixed with egg yolk and poultry cell but it’s not doing much. I’m not sure what else to do with it 😭😭

My Amazing Emerald!

I got my Peacock emerald from a rescue center and am always amazed by him. Yesterday I learned that he is a Indian Blue split Purple and now I am wondering what else might be in there. Some have suggested that he may have some Green in him. I have no clue, but would love to hear what an some experts say.
