That crazy ass mega church clip reminded me so much of the that song from Team America that I put that song over the it

Penguinz0 is no longer the same person as he used to be and the EDP documentary is the final nail in the coffin

The documentary was completely insensitive and didn't take the subject matter seriously at all, which normally Charlie would completely be against and publicly bash it, but because he's in it, he's promoting it and making it seem like a legitimate crazy documentary. The video is completely irresponsible. Around 2022 Charlie became so soulless and exactly like those big slop streamers like Asmongold and Ludwig. It sucks.

Is anyone else a bit bored by the newer content?

I don't want this post to just turn into a thread bashing Charlie. Please keep all conversation civil and on-topic. Sorry if this kind of post isn't allowed or causes any issues; the only reason I'm making this post in the first place is 'cause I wanted to see if anybody else had been feeling the same way lately. Now that that's out of the way...

Has anyone else been getting bored of his content recently? Granted, I'm more of a fan of his IRL content (and always have been), and it's not even the actual quality of the content: it's the monotony of it. One of the things I loved about his content was that it felt like he was coming up with fun ideas, doing whatever he felt like and getting to hang out with his friends in the process. Now, a good 75% of the content on his main channel is just the news stuff or stupid people doing stupid things (which obviously has been there for a bit, and that stuff is interesting sometimes, but that becoming the main content he posts now is a bit disappointing). Even when he does post something like a tier list, he doesn't act like he cares about it anymore and just kinda half-asses it (to the point of not even ranking the stuff anymore). He uploaded that soccer video recently, which was fun and the kind of content I was missing, but it kinda rubbed me the wrong way how cocky he acted about the whole thing. I know that fake cockiness has been a part of his humor for a while, but I've noticed it a lot more lately and it doesn't come off like as much of a joke as it used to. I've noticed the monotony with The Other Channel and Skill Check too. One of the things I loved about The Other Channel when they first started it was the Unus Annus-like feel to it, and now it's basically just the game show and AITA channel. That stuff is fun sometimes too, but I miss the creativity and variety. Even the Skill Check channel has practically just turned into a place for Charlie to feed his card-pulling addiction (and ruining the market for other collectors in the process). I have to admit that this in particular irritates me, considering how often he goes on about hating people flexing their wealth.

I felt like they were doing so much cool stuff before they moved to the farmhouse last year: they were doing the world food tier lists, they had their D&D campaigns, but that all fell to the wayside as soon as they moved. I feel like the monotony has gotten especially bad since the start of this year. Apart from a few of the videos they've done (like the ghost hunting or treasure hunting ones they did last year when they first got the farmhouse, to name a few examples), none of the videos they've done since moving couldn't have been done back at the warehouse. Obviously, they could have some cool things planned (I don't know), but after a year of being at the farmhouse, it seems like a bit of a waste of the 20 acres of land they now have.

Again, please don't use this as an excuse to bash Charlie or his team and turn this overly negative. It's just something I've been thinking about lately and was wondering if anyone felt the same way.

The EDP documentary is weird

Charlie made a video a bit ago hyping this documentary up as being crazy, and while it IS very insane and crazy it is a really poorly made documentary. the first 20 minutes of it is basically just an extension of the trailer with it hyping itself up. the actual documentary starts like 10 minutes into the video. theres a-lot of really bad editing with the interviews and some of the guest stars either add absolutely nothing of substance or get cut off mid sentence. inviting a mental health professional to an interview and having him say that "sending poopy pics is weird and bad" did he have nothing else to say about that?? there were also some parts that i thought were interesting like when they are interviewing people and they say something really profound and then it just fades out and cuts to edp saying some bs. i've noticed that happens very often especially when they are interviewing "professionals". i also though that the part where he was interviewing one of his victims was done in poor taste. it felt very exploitive of the victim and i really think he should have done more to blur her identity ESPECIALLY considering she was a minor. it also felt like he was parading this psychopathic pedophile around like a circus animal, having him dress up for skits and talk about youtubers he hates. that just rubbed me the wrong way.

other then that it was very entertaining and pretty funny, and i definitely appreciate that the monetization for it is going to charity. other then that i REALLY did not like this documentary

Liquid Death Video Thoughts

I don't watch Charles a lot anymore, and I've never had liquid death. I'm pretty neutral to both.

The video he did about liquid death felt so funny. You mean to tell me Dr. Poop and Pee Jokes is calling a satirical can label cringe? I was seriously surprised, between stuff like GODSLAP and his general humor I figured he would at least like the branding. I don't care what he does and doesn't like, but this felt like someone held a mirror up to him and he went "ugh cringe" without realizing it's him.

This hasn't changed how I feel about Charles or anything, I've just been thinking about this since I watched it. The video did make me want him to do an old school commercial dub video for liquid death though lol

Direct Response to "The EDP Documentary Is Weird" Thread

Link to the original thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/penguinz0/comments/1vkbqum/the_edp_documentary_is_weird/

I feel the need to make this because it's clear that the person who posted this and the people who agree with it have no real world experience and this is coming from someone who lives in their room for the most part, though thanks to this documentary I'm going to start touching grass a lot more often, or at least try to. In any case, let me try and educate some of you people in hopes you understand why this documentary and others like it are important.

Firstly, your discomfort is warranted and completely justified. As someone who has gone down rabbit holes of some of the worse atrocities known to mankind, these things really do mess you up. That being said, being uncomfortable is the entire fucking point. I don't know what you're expecting to feel listening to a guy openly admit to being a monster but if it's anything but negative emotions, then something would be wrong with you. These kinds of documentaries are not supposed to be entertainment. They're not supposed to sugarcoat the details either. This is about a child predator caught sexting minors. What kind of weenie hut juniors cut are you expecting out of that?

Furthermore, the shock value and the visuals are meant to portray the level of depravity the guy had among other things. It's one thing to hear about something horrific but you'll truly never what it looks like unless you see it personally or have it happen to you. Of course, most of us don't ever want to have the worst happen to us so the next best thing is usually reenactments that gives you at least a glimpse of those things. Now if you're feeling unwell seeing those things, that's good! Because now you can imagine and better sympathize with what the victims had to see and go through. Words can only paint so much of the picture of what happened and seeing what I saw from the doc, I personally feel so much worse for the victims and the everyone who had to deal with EDP, especially Mike Clum who had to sit through all of that.

As for the victim, Kayla, I'm not sure where people are getting an exploitative aspect from this. She's just telling her side of the story in all of this. I would agree that her face should have been blurred...if she was still a minor, though that being said, I don't know how old she was at the time of her own shoot but my point is the decision to not blur her was probably a choice she made for herself considering that the therapist EDP had got her face blurred and especially since she admits she uses herself being a victim for her online presence. I won't say much else about her except that I hope she heals from it all. From that, the only exploitation present is from the youtubers: Alex, Jidion, and Skeeter Jean. They all exploited the EDP scandal. Even Chris Hansen. This doc was supposed to show shed light on these people and how unhelpful they are wirh getting real justice. How is Mike Clum the bad guy for letting a victim tell her story? I genuinely want an answer to this.

To the point of "parading EDP like a circus animal", it's almost as if that's exactly what he is. I didn't know about EDP until after he was exposed for texting the first round of minors prior to the sting operation so my firsthand knowledge of him was that he was a creep but the other thing that stuck out to me was how unbelievably unserious he was. Outside the predatory stuff, the way he expressed himself in various topics was just so goofy. When he addressed the allegations numerous times back then, he said some of the most insane shit to the point where you actually had to laugh at him for how fucking stupid he is. But the thing about that is that it adds to this whole thing. He shows no remorse for his actions and he doesn't care. One of the first things he told us in the doc was that he was obsessed with the villains solely for the fact that they did horrible things without a care for other people. People like that are dangerous. They are callous monsters who do what they want and don't care about who they hurt. If this isn't textbook narcissim and sociopathy, I don't know what is. But regardless, as comedic as the bitch list was, it further paints how out of touch with reality EDP is and the fact that people he appreciates are all terrible people one way or another is the cherry on top.

Now as for the people who got included, I will say it was weird to see Chris Chan was included. But here's the thing: the fact you have Chris Chan, Wings, Boogie, and all of the youtubers saying how much of a piece of shit he is and what should happen to him is supposed to show how a lot of YouTube's most popular or more infamous figures feel about him. Keep in mind here that this documentary is not just for people who are familiar with EDP. Not everyone watching this is going to know who this guy is or the extent of his crimes. With that said, I think any additional insight even from people who were in no way involved is important because it paints how a set of people feel about him. Chris Hansen may not have had anything to add but as Charlie mentioned in his recent video, you can see how he is again just blatantly admitting to his crimes with no remorse to Chris of all people. And I'm not even going to address the professionals part of the criticism because the level of stupidity you need to have to even ask why they were necessary is astounding.

Now to address some the comments on that thread:

"Did we really need to see x, y, z?" Did someone hold a gun to your head forcing you to watch this? If not, then no, you didn't need to watch this documentary at all!

"It was redundant." Yea it's to drill the concept of how disgusting and evil the dude in the viewers head. It's great you got it the first time but there are lots of people who will need to hear it thousands of times before they get it.

"There are people in support of EDP because of this doc" There were loads of people in support of EDP throughout his entire downfall long before the doc. The entire chat before and during the doc showing was full of them though they could have just been trolls and bots. Besides, people are going to support who they want without any regard to their crimes and shit. Trump shouldn't have even been elected president in 2016 yet alone 2024. I don't see how this doc should be at fault with whatever amount of new fans it brings when they make the point clear how disgusting he is. Anyone supporting him now is fucking weird and you should just be avoiding them full stop.

"They let children around him" This is the ONE good point I will agree with. On the other hand, now that we know that he still has frequent contact with children, it should hopefully get people and the authorities involved to act and get him away from children.

My final thoughts: overall, the doc was really well done and should be commended. Mike Clum had to endure shit pics among other disusting stuff for this and it is unbelievable how a lot of yall are really fucking stupid and missed the entire point. It's ok to not be comfortable with how true crime documentaries are handled because some of them do miss the mark but I think a lot of criticisms for them tend to be overtly privileged from the fact that many of you have never had to endure what the victims and investigators and law enforcement had to endure with these kind of crimes. Mind you, this was a censored cut of the doc and they didn't show everything either (for example, they didn't go in detail with his first interactions with fans like the one where he asked a 14 year old a pic of her tits for the cameo and then proceeded to say that he doesn't care if they were 1). And btw there is much worse than EDP. Wait till yall hear about Lionmaker.

Was watching the Guess what's in the box taste edition on The Other Channel, and came across this. I just can't help but laugh every time I see it
