Game had a good run. That's basically where I think Zooi's mindset comes from. People Playground had a good couple of years where it absolutely flourished. Zooi made ten MILLION in profit and walked away from the experience much wealthier than he was before.

The recent cyberattacks have heavily discouraged him from continuing development/supporting the Workshop. He may have decided to just give up on the latter front completely.

The game had a good run. His players can review-bomb it if they want to, if that'll make them feel better, but he's already made his money and had his time in the spotlight.

He technically doesn't "owe" his players anything, at this point. They paid their money, which was, at most, $15, and got their fun out of the experience as well. People Playground has technically been a completed game since its release. It's done & dusted. He could've made an "Interactive Buddy" clone and called it a day there, but he didn't. He did much more than that.

So yeah, he's basically saying "You win, hackers. No more workshop." and "Sorry, players, but you've had your fun, now enjoy the vanilla game." and "I should just cut my losses and quit here."

The game is literally so bland now, there is nothing but the base stuff and I can probably find that on a shitty pirating game website. In my eyes the game has lost all worth

What my title says. PPG should be sold to someone who actually wants to develop a game and not just sit around j*rking off going "Waow" while people get their sh*t hacked. Zooi does not know professionalism nor how to keep support on games. I've lost all respect for this pretentious fuck just sitting around letting one of my favorite games rot. I hope someone buys the rights to this game and brings it back.

Was playing while on the plane, saw all these things that people playground doesn't have, like different suits, more vials, and I thought Damn, allat from a copy game? their deadass doing better than us

Workshop management was a disaster due to zooi’s approach to the game, the whole architecture, giving mods rights that are just outrageous by cybersecurity standards to be given. “Do not let it mess with the machine” as a foundational principle and all that.

His PR skills are not rock bottom - they are so down there that they just nearly don’t hit the point of “so bad it is good” and actively worsen it all

One hell of a developer who won’t even review pull requests for Madness Interactive Reloaded. That one game on the front page of Studio Minus. Requests that are years old. The hell?..

And even so somehow I do get the idea he said in “Stone Ages”. I didn’t use any mods at all and played based on what I come up with. I actually like how people come up with cursed contraptions that just surprise more and more with every new post. I actually do feel what he is talking about. A thing I wanted to say, firstly…

and secondly - to hell with zooi. It is incredible that you can actively make a game with such horrible security flaws, get hit for it THREE TIMES with some PEOPLE ACTUALLY LOSING their INFO and still be a jackass that goes “oh well it is actually how I would prefer it you know”. I could understand if he actively developed anything, poor old MIR for Playgrounds sake, but we don’t even know what he was up to previous months in terms of games. And now workshop is halted - and he is happy about it. Cool, dude, being blind to the room is always cool😎

I just felt it must be said, truth to be told. Maybe I am just saddened that this game and Reloaded don’t get anything actual. But this is nuts, really, how one can get away with all the money and still be a jerk of an even bigger scale
