Hi! First time buying a car but I’ve been driving my own car from my parents for around 8 years. I’ll have to pass on the car to my younger sibling and would like to purchase my own car for my transpo to work and travel.
Planning to buy a hybrid car but still not sure if kakayanin.
Monthly net income: 40k
Max downpayment that i can put out is 500k. Then I’ll have around 300k remaining as emergency fund.
The car im eyeing is around 1.268M.
50% DP is 490k then monthly for 5 years is 16,644php.
Monthly bills: i have no house bills pa since living with parents, only personal stuff like life insurance, phone, and other daily expenses like food, transpo, etc.
Will this be worth it?

We noticed the car not starting as quick as it used to these past few days. Now it won’t start, it just makes click sounds when I try to start it then the dash goes all black.
Take note the battery is just 1 year and 4 months old, all the lights, horn are still working.
Car is a 7 year old Suzuki Swift, bought last 2019.

Anybody who experienced 8 months delay of BPI auto loan payment? My loan has been unlinked to my app. I was able to paid off a total of 140,000 and Meron na din po deductions to my savings account for loans penalty around 10k din. I’ve trying to get in contact with them via email but no response talaga sila bale yung ika 8 month po is June bale may 20 days delay ako which is babayaran ko next week.

Why i want a Jimny? Dream ko to actually since mahilig kami mag camp, and i like na maliit lang siya so easier to drive and park for me as a girlie (ayaw ko na din kasi sa mababang car/sedan).
Why byd sealion 5? For practicality since hybrid tipid sa gas, no coding. And everyone keeps on saying it’s best to get a hybrid car sa gantong panahon.

- If jimny, nasa 900k range ng tinitignan namin. Mag down ako 500k then financing yung 400k.
- if Sealion 5, i can dp 50% which is 490k, then I’ll pay the rest for 60months
I was thinking if goods ba mag jimny kasi mas mura but it’s a 2021 model. Or mag invest na sa brand new?

Nakakabadtrip pumunta akong LTO Mandaluyong para magpa-transfer ng ownership ng Chery Tiggo 8. Requirement yung stencil ng chassis and engine number. Walang problema sa chassis number. Ang problema lang ay yung engine number. In all honesty, mahirap talagang kunin yung engine number kasi andoon sa kaloob-looban. Di ko sure kung technique ng mga chinese manufacturer ang pagtago ng Engine number.
Nung andoon na ako sa LTO Mandaluyong, ayaw i-stencil nung mag-stencil sana nung engine number. Basta ang sabi niya "Ayaw ko. Hirap stencil yan. Nakatago eh." Wala rin magawa yung parang inspector hindi ko raw mapipilit yung nag-ii-stencil kasi di kaya. Ang suggestion niya sakin, puntahan ko raw yung HPG na nag-stencil sakin, doon rin daw ako pa-stencil. Galing diba? Hahaha. Nakakafrustrate.

akin kasi ang ginagawa ko:
(while stepping on brakes) gear shift from park to drive > handbrake > release foot brake > accelerate
may ibang nagsusuggest na neutral muna raw before shifting gears, so ano po ang correct?
Help with deciding between Avanza vs BR-V
We've been looking into buying our first car and we've been eyeing Avanza 1.5 G for quite some time now because of mainly how it looks and how spacious the trunk is. Also it's what our budget would allow us too lol but we're really thinking if it can go to the province with steep hills and long drives so that's really a kind of a deal breaker. A friend of ours is selling their BR-V 2023 V variant with 20k mileage and we would just assume their bank balance and only a small portion of the downpayment (their asking only is around 50-60k PHP dp) so we think that's really a good deal and we've read that Honda's engine is a bit more powerful than the Avanza's
Now we're looking into the parts availability and maintenance costs for the two and a family of ours said that we should get the Avanza instead still because it's a Toyota and has less maintenance cost and parts more widely available than Honda. Any input would be nice and appreciated a lot.
I'm currently deciding between these two, and the price difference is only around ₱68,000.
The vehicle will mainly be used for daily driving with occasional long trips. It will also occasionally be used to haul business supplies and equipment, so practicality and cargo space are factors we're considering as well.
I really like the HR-V because of its fuel efficiency, newer technology, and more comfortable car-like driving experience. However, one of our concerns is that the front bumper sits quite low, and I've seen several owners mention that it can scrape on uneven roads, steep driveways, or high speed bumps. Since many of the roads we travel aren't always in the best condition, we're considering a higher-riding vehicle like the Fortuner for the added ground clearance and peace of mind.
On the other hand, the Fortuner offers much better ground clearance, more cargo space, a higher towing and hauling capability, and is known for its durability and strong resale value.
If you were in my position, which would you choose and why? Considering the prices are so close, I'm having a hard time deciding.
I'd love to hear from owners of either vehicle, especially anyone who has experienced scraping issues with the HR-V or has used a Fortuner as both a daily driver and for business purposes. Thanks!
