Spray tan recs for a pale girl

What’s everyone’s go to spot for a quality spray tan? I’m naturally very pale and I have freckles on my face, shoulders, and arms. Terrified of looking orange. People say “you won’t look orange!” - I’ve seen it with my own eyes, I’ve seen friends with similar skin look horrific. Who can I trust in the Philly/south NJ area? Never had a spray tan in my life but heavily considering for an upcoming wedding.

Please don’t recommend self tanner. I am not interested in doing it myself. THX!! 🙏

Dentist recommendations - preferably somewhere ✨fancy-ish✨

Hi all! I am in search of a new dentist. I'm in the Fishtown area but do not mind travelling too far. Preferably looking for somewhere a little on the nicer side that does take insurance. Right now, just for regular cleanings, I don't (think and hope) I need any work done.

Thanks all!

Gynecologist for vulvodynia and pelvic pain

I’m looking for a gynecologist who is familiar with treating vulvodynia and pelvic pain. I was seeing an NP in the city but she moved out to a join a practice in Media. I know about the vulvovaginal center at Jefferson, but was wondering if anyone had a good experience with someone at Penn or Jeff? I have better insurance coverage at Penn, but would be willing to go elsewhere.

Thrift scrubs?

Hi lovelies! Happy Friday! I’m currently on a GLP journey for about 6 months! I’m almost at the 50 lbs down mark and absolutely swimming in my scrubs atp! But I don’t want to buy more new until I’m done losing. They aren’t exactly cheap and I have another 50 lbs to go! Can anyone point me toward discount/thrift/second hand scrub shops in the city? Also open to other ideas or solutions if anyone’s been in the same boat? Thanks so much!! 😘

EV charging in Queen Village ($20/session)

I have a Level 2 charger installed in my garage that sits unused most of the time between chargings, so I figured I’d offer it up to fellow EV drivers who need a reliable spot to plug in.

Charger is available:
• Most weekdays during work hours
• Most nights (I usually charge overnight on Mondays and Wednesdays)
• Weekend availability varies, but usually some windows open

Pricing: Working out the details but thinking a $20 flat fee for up to a 6 hour charging session. Open to feedback on what feels fair. DM me if you’re interested or have questions!

J1772 plug compatible with most EVs. Tesla and newer NACS-equipped vehicles will need their adapter.

Happy to chat with anyone interested and figure out a schedule that works. Bonus points if you’re a regular who wants to set up a consistent schedule.

Beauty monthly maintenance costs

How much do you all spend to keep yourself feeling beautiful? Hairs/nails/brazilians/facials etc? I just got my nails done for the first time in years and am SHOOK by the cost, but also have a desire to indulge more in things that help me feel attractive. Would love to hear what other ladies are spending (and how you deal with any guilt about it!) ❤️

Chill Pilates studio

Looking for a center city Pilates studio with a welcoming vibe. I’m old (50) not hot, but love Pilates. Diverse body types and focus on improvement not perfection is what I’m looking for. Thanks

Hot Pilates/Yoga

Hi! I’m newer to Philly and am located in the fishtown/NoLibs area. What’s everyone’s favorite hot workout locations? I tried In Flow and while it was great, I’m looking for something a bit warmer and a longer length class — at least 60 minutes. I’m open to having to go to different parts of the city for this if it’s worth it

Personal trainer

Hi! I’m looking for a personal trainer in the city who can help me get in great shape for my wedding next year— so while I want to focus on getting strong, I also really want to focus on aesthetics. Anyone worked with a personal trainer in the city they really love for this? Let me know!

Egg Freezing Costs

Looking for a fertility clinic in Philly with more transparent pricing. I’ve had two visits at Main Line Fertility and was really surprised by the extra out-of-pocket costs, despite having full fertility coverage through my insurance.

For example, they use a third-party anesthesiologist for retrievals costing $800, plus there’s a separate $750 admin fee/per cycle. I’m planning to do two cycles, so these additional fees add up quickly and feel frustrating when insurance is otherwise comprehensive.

I’m also having trouble getting clear answers about medication coverage. Apparently, I won’t know what’s covered until MLF actually submits the Rx's.

I’ve heard fertility meds may be cheaper through Penn, but I’ve also seen mixed reviews about the level of care and communication there.

Has anyone had experience with Penn, RMA, or elsewhere in terms of:

  • better insurance coverage overall
  • fewer surprise/admin fees
  • anesthesia used by a major hospital/not outsourced
  • medication costs/coverage
  • overall experience

Where to get best mani/pedi?

Looking for recommendations, anywhere between Fairmount and Center City. I am incredibly picky and want my nails to be perfect. Willing to spend $$, I am looking for quality!! More picky about my mani than my pedi.
