Which author do y’all think is the most similar to Philip K Dick?
I personally think Stanislaw Lem, Ursula K. Le Guin, and William Gibson to be the ones exploring similar concepts and also write in a similar. The ‘feeling’ I get reading their work is quite similar to Philip’s.
Taking my very first Dick and absolutely loving it.
I don't have any prior experience handling Dick, but I was able to jump straight onto this one and I am absolutely devouring it and craving more.
Found these letters at a rare book fair today (wish I could have bought them)
The last photo is what I actually got from the fair. There was some more Dick laying around but since I only get Dick for my personal collection, I had to be much more budget friendly.
At the Rocky Mountain Book and Paper Fair in Colorado. Tomorrow is the last day, if anyone is nearby.
Thank you for your Help and Support
I wanted to say thank you to everyone on the forum. Just over a month or so ago, I posted (with some trepidation) the first part of a documentary on Philip K. Dick I had been writing. I was very relieved and glad to see that many people seemed to enjoy it, and had even taken the time to comment and subscribe to my very fledgling channel. By the time I came to writing the final parts, I actually used many insights and even some of the images on this forum (with permission)—it was a real help. If you missed the first part, or would like to see the whole thing put together, it is here:

I won't pollute with any more self-promoting kipple. Just wanted to say thank you again.
PKD biopic casting
If there were ever a PKD biopic made, what actor would be a good choice? I don't have any ideas. But I think a PKD biopic could be very interesting. Or has one already been made?
Are there any PKD novels I should avoid blindly purchasing?
Most of PKD’s catalog is heavily on sale for audible members right now ($3-4), and now that I’ve read a few of his novels and found the ideas extremely interesting, I’m tempted to get them all.
But I’m not sure if that’s the smartest move lol. Are there any I should be more hesitant about (and maybe try one in that style before buying every book he’s written)?
Thanks in advance!
First time reading PKD and I got this broken version that I thought was part of the story.

I started off reading A Maze of Death but then the story switched from chapter 13 to chapter 10 with all new characters. I was confused and was going to stop reading but the top said a Martian Time Slip. I did not know this was another novel and the table of contents for A Maze of Death was fake so I assumed the Chapter change was part of the story. I assumed time slip would reveal the past of the Colony from A Maze of Death and then we would jump back to present time but when I got to the end of Martian Time Slip I didn't get an ending and it cut to the end of chapter 1 of Valis.
It's only then I looked up online to make sure I wasn't crazy and the confusing story with no ending wasn't how it was supposed to go because it matched the themes of both stories.
