PiKVM Expert Needed for Real-Time Ghost Text Overlay Program

I need a PiKVM expert who can also create a program that shows text in real time on a virtual user’s PC.

The requirement is: when one user types text in Google Docs or another document, the same text should instantly appear on the virtual user’s screen as a faint/transparent guide text overlay.

The program should support:
Real-time text syncing

Transparent/ghost text display

Always-on-top overlay

Click-through mode so the virtual user can still type normally

Smooth working with a PiKVM remote setup

Please contact me only if you have experience with PiKVM, browser extensions, Windows overlay tools, AutoHotkey, Python/PyQt, Electron apps, or real-time WebSocket syncing.

PiKVM v4 Plus display choice (why OLED?)

I just started using both a PiKVM v4 Plus and a PiKVM switch. Nice kit. I've deployed enterprise hardware previously in data centers for context.

I'm a bit baffled as to why OLED was chosen for the display. We all know what the problems are with this technology as related to static content and burn in despite all of the advances. I would have chosen backlit LCD probably but...

Why isn't there just a momentary button on the device or at least a toggle in the Web user interface that will easily let you toggle the display on/off? Even for a backlit LCD I would have had the backlight turn off after idle seconds and a momentary button to trigger the backlight back on.

I just don't see any purpose in the display having illumination all of the time. In my new home setup, for instance, my PiKVM is stuffed in a closet in a rack which I don't really need to visit all that often: no need for an always on display at any level of dimness if it means no matter what the display will just degrade.

As for now, I'll just turn the display off from the cli (because I know someone will reply with "Why don't you turn it off from the command line? Missing the entire point.").

PiKVMarr - anyone wants this?

Hey guys, I'm developing a kind of remote control for my PiKVM to be native on iOS, see the demo attached. Not planning to do anything remote screen sharing/control related as of now, but the simple turn on/off/restart buttons and status lights are already there as you can see, with support for 2FA. I developed this for my personal needs and am wondering if anyone wants to use this as well? If yes, I'll opensource it and submit it to the App Store.

So, any interest in PiKVMarr?

Keyboard suddenly stopped working

Hi. I have been using Raspberry Pi 4 as PiKVM for a couple of years now. Put it together by the instructions and everything has been working fine. Really enjoyed it. The other day my keyboard stopped working. Staying always orange over Web interface and no typing over Web nor VNC client anymore. Mouse is still fine. I upgraded the OS just to make sure. I suspect the reason could be with some USB port died or something like that. Need to figure where to start looking for the reasons. This is not the matter of plugging it into another slot - the Y cable goes to the micro C USB only. Is there a way to change keyboard HID?
