MBB consulting???

Very strange when I heard MBB came on campus to hire undergrads from Plaksha to front office consulting.

The list that was initially just 5 IIT’s , BITS, CA first-attempt rankholders, SRCC/LSR/Stephens/SSCBS, Ashoka now has Plaksha in the mix.

My perception of Plaksha was rich spoilt kids who thought IITians are too ugly type shit. Didn’t know MBB would pay front office fees to grads here?

What’s the secret sauce?

unable to fit in :(

It’s only been two weeks here, but I already feel completely overwhelmed and isolated.

It feels like everyone else has already found their friend groups and is operating at a much higher level both socially and academically. Between my own social awkwardness and feeling out of my depth, I’ve held back from participating in campus events.

This is my first time living in a hostel, over 1,500 km away from home, and falling sick with a bad cold this past week definitely didn't help. Even though there were plenty of chances to interact through the cope buddy group, games house, and mentor groups, I froze up and didn't really connect with anyone or join any clubs yet.

I eat alone in the dining hall and I constantly worry about how out of place I look. I’ve dealt with mental health struggles and self-image issues in the past, and being in a brand new environment seems to be triggering those old insecurities.

I dunno what to do, I just wish it doesn't widen or get worse, and wanted to vent out here.

Aside from that, the weather here is genuinely so fucking horrible.

Edit (18/8/26):- i rlly wanna thank each one of you who reached out to me from the bottom of my heart. I can't express how grateful and lucky I feel being in such a supportive environment. I saw my post got screenshotted and posted in the unofficial whatsapp gc, and the reactions there too were so kind, that I felt very emotional. Please don't worry too much about me at the moment, I'm mostly okay, I just wanted to vent out a little..

Alumni’s or current students can you please help

I have already got an offer from plaksha but it is not my only option currently so is it really worth the hype following the ivy league culture and at the end of the day what comes out of it. And how are the mixed branches like dseb and csai or robotics as well if you let me know the most scope in these.
