Got a firm offer, applied on the last day for application, about a month ago

Finally got a firm offer yesterday, for BSE (i had PCB), I did not get merit scholarship however (i feel like if i applied in round 1-2, i definitely would've got it, but alas, atleast i got in.

Now ill apply for fin-aid, idk what my chances are since my family's income is about 30-ish LPA. So i might not end up going to plaksha (too expensive since we have a huge home loan and lot of dependencies).

Honest advice from current Plaksha students? (2027 applicant)

TL;DR

I’m a 2027 applicant trying to decide if Plaksha is worth the investment for someone from a middle-class family. Looking for honest opinions from current students/alumni—not the marketing version. Also curious about scholarships, startup culture, clubs, and whether I should prioritize Plaksha over my backup (CIC + IIT Madras BS).

Hey everyone,
I’m planning to apply to Plaksha for the 2027 intake and would really appreciate hearing from current 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year students (or alumni).
I’m looking for honest experiences, not the usual marketing narrative. Every college has pros and cons, and I’d rather know the reality before making such a big financial and career decision.

A little about me:
Class 12: 78.92%.
My academic journey has been a bit unconventional, but I’m now fully committed to engineering.
Interested in AI, software engineering, startups, and entrepreneurship.
Preparing for the SAT (target: 1550+).
Working on coding projects and trying to build a strong application.
My biggest concern is cost.
I’m from a middle-class family, and our realistic budget is around ₹35 lakh in total (about ₹25 lakh for tuition and ₹10 lakh for living expenses). Anything beyond that would be very difficult.
I’d love your thoughts on a few things:
Is Plaksha genuinely worth the investment?
If you could go back, would you choose it again?

What’s the teaching quality actually like? Someone said the professors don’t teach deep tech topics that well
How intense is the workload?
What’s the student culture like?
Since I eventually want to build a startup:
Is the entrepreneurship ecosystem genuinely active, or is it mostly highlighted during admissions?
Are there good incubators, mentors, hackathons, networking opportunities, and founder communities?

I’m also curious about campus life:
How are the clubs and extracurriculars?
I’m not expecting a perfect college experience, but is it at least a fun, well-rounded place where you can grow outside academics?

Scholarships:
With a 1550+ SAT (hopefully), coding projects, and a decent overall profile—but 78.92% in Class 12—do you think I have a realistic chance of getting a significant scholarship or financial aid? If you received one, I’d love to know what your profile was like.

My backup plan is Cluster Innovation Centre (DU) + IIT Madras BS, so I’m also trying to figure out how much importance I should give to Plaksha versus focusing on my backup.

I’m not expecting ₹60 LPA placements or anything unrealistic. I just want a place with strong learning, good peers, startup exposure, decent opportunities, and an overall experience that justifies the investment.
Thanks in advance! I’d really appreciate any honest advice.

Anyone coming to the Hyderabad meet event today?

Is the venue Ebony botique hotel? Also any information of what usually happens inside? And whether one needs to stay from 4:30 to 7:30 or if it's just a QnA event where you ask questions and get answered? And for socializing?

Rejected by plaksha. Accepted for Ashoka interview. Can I apply next year while studying in state college?

I did not even get the chance for an interview. I applied very late. But, I applied at the last moment.

Surprisingly, My profile was accepted by ashoka. Hope I can get in. Interview was okayish.

My last backup is State govt college. Private Mangalore too expensive.

Can I apply next year at the earliest? How can I improve my profile in a better way?

89%ile JEE. 90% 12th 80 in Math.

Plaksha vs MSRIT AI and DS

I want to know from Plaksha graduates whether going to MS Ramaiah or BMSCE for CS is better or doing CS and AI at Plaksha. I have these options through COMEDK and also have plaksha's firm offer.

I want some guidance regarding placements, faculty, and opportunities at Plaksha. I have heard about the modern curriculum at Plaksha, is that really worth it during placements. I plan to do Masters abroad after some work experience , will choosing plaksha for bachelors be effective?

I have heard that the faculty is top class, need some insight on this as well!

Dashboard

On my dashboard the interview process is still not highlighted and moved onto committee review. Although I have finished both my PI and TI more than 2 weeks ago. Should I be worried?

Hi everyone! I might be joining CSE+AI in Plaksha, (seat has been allotted), and I was unsure of which laptop should I buy. I wanted a macbook air M5 but someone told me that some of the software required do not run on mac so, I was unsure. Should I buy a windows or should I go ahead with the mac.

Do BSE major folks get any jobs/placements?

If yes, how much do you think is the average package? Can they get into the same roles everyone else gets?

Plaksha ne bhi reject kar diya 😞

Har jagah se rejection mail aa raha hai. And for Plaksha I had high hopes. Both my PI and TI went well. Extra circulars were decent. 91 percentile in jee mains. Only issue was board marks (82%). Sadly I feel they just look at board marks particularly maths. Otherwise everything went well for me. I had tremendously high hopes 😭😞 Plaksha hi umeed thi. Nahi jana mereko tier 3 private colleges mei 💔
