Aluminum color still available?

Aluminum color still available?

I’ve dipped by wheels black…but I want to make them silver/gunmetal. I know plastidip had the aluminum metalizer, but I can’t seem to find it now, or am I just looking in the wrong places?

Photo is an example of the color plastidip I’m wanting to go for! Thank you!

First timer. Made some mistakes.

Hey there,
First time dipper. I sprayed the roof of my car. I ended up getting a run, and then got too close and it blew the dip. Can this be fixed or should I peel and redo? Also, I got some tiger striping. To me it looks like I may have needed to lay it more wet, or tighter passes?

But this looks so much better. Incredible, really. Can’t wait to spray the rest of the car (different color).

Lastly, I couldn’t find naphtha at Home Depot. Lacquer thinner didn’t seem to really break the dip down. What product is comparable to naphtha?

Thanks for the tips. I used 1 quart of base and 1 quart of top coat. I have about 3 quarts of each left.

How good is plastidip at paint protection?

How well does plastidip work as a paint protection coating? How does it compare to film? I'm considering plastidip for the custom color options and lower price point. But if it just won't do the job I'll pony up for the film. I'd appreciate any insights.

We have a '23 Tesla M3 and a '25 Honda Civic Hybrid, if that matters.

Plastidipping is addictive

Especially when you finally get your dream car, but they quite making them 12 years ago. The spoiler, hood scoop and grill were totally faded and I knew trying to color match 12 year old paint would be a nightmare. If it’s not going to match perfectly, I would rather it look intentional.

What's the most innovative way you've used Plasti Dip?

I'm looking for some creative ways to use my leftover Plasti Dip. I have a few cans of the dip AND a few cans of the clear and black sprays. Any cool ideas are super appreciated. Thanks :)

A few questions before I order

So I have a 05 mustang convertible I’m planning to dip pink for my 16yo daughter.

I’m planning on just the basic matte finish.

Can this be done in my driveway, in a subdivision ? my driveway is probably 80 feet from my neighbor’s driveway. I’m just concerned about overspray and such.

I do have a single car garage, I could possibly spray in. It’s sort of tight on one side though. Would it be possible to mask off certain areas (one side) or just the hood and spray the areas
/ panels one at a time? Is the finished color pretty consistent? I’m just going for the basic finish.

How much product for a mustang convertible?

First ever dip

I always said if I got a WRB WRX I would have gold wheels. Got the Carbon Gold kit from DYC and am blown away by the results. Took my time to clean EVERYTHING following the instructions. 4 dust coats and 3 wet coats of basic black, followed by 4 coats of Carbon Gold. Hopefully it lasts the advertised 3-5 years.
