A new pair of Ukrainian plates

Got them from my uncle for free. He had sold his car and kept the plates. When he discovered that I had a collection, he gave them to me! The plates are extremely clear!

July Madness(?) - Which US state has the best standard-issued plate design?

Hey folks,

Slow day before the holiday weekend, and wanted to scout out interest in an idea I’ve had. I’ve seen a lot of other subs do “March Madness”-style competitions, but haven’t seen anyone try something like that with license plates. Which state (or DC!) has the best looking standard-issued plate design? If people are interested, I’m proposing a competition to find out. Starting with a randomly-seeded bracket of all 51 entries (19 matchups in the first round and 13 lucky byes skipping to the round of 32), then round of 32, sweet 16, etc. with folks voting via poll or comment (happy to take suggestions on voting mechanics).

Thoughts? Opinions? Complaints? If it seems like there’s enough interest I can release a bracket tomorrow and start matchups next week!

New 1950s-60s Algerian license plate

this plate is from algeria and it looks like french and its totally normal because its from between the 1950s and 1960s during the french colonization before algeria's independance in 1962. i found this in a brocante in northeast france for only 3 bucks.

Made a new Row next to the islands for the ex-sovjet states like LT, LV and UA so i have all EU ex-sovjet states together. Also add PL en D to the wall.

Old hand painted plate, Does anyone recognise this format

Trying to find information on this old plate that is for sale in a shop near me.

I'm assuming it is European from the size, but I guess I could be an early plate from North America before standardization??

Is this a real plate?

Hi all! Does anyone know whether this is a genuine license plate? The back has DIN markings, which would suggest it’s German. The typeface is also German. The size matches that of a German tractor plate, which is often tax‑exempt. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
