I just got back into ark and are trying to play the story start to finish. Im on the verge to be ready for my first bigger tame (Rex). Do i directly search for a high lvl or do I settle for the next best Rex?
So i have set up my base in Ocean biome and none of the teleport options seem to teleport me to the island i have set up base in.Closest one is like 7000 meters away,so i have to make a raft and go there by it.Cant even tame ichty to get there faster cuz every ichty i have seen have been lvl 700+ and untameable.Do i need to get a teleportation mod or something?
Okay so we all know how Snail Games is going bankrupt... I propose that we may get a team together, approach valve with an idea to buy ark and wild card... See if they can provide some financial assistance and attempt to buy the IP from snail... They may not be too open to it, but they're dying so... I say it's worth a shot. Though I have my doubts that anybody will see this.
Not a rage post — 210 hours in, I like the game. But I finally checked why my SSD was dying and it's genuinely absurd.

Not everyone has a spare 2TB SSD to hand over to a single game. And let's be real — this has been a problem since the first ARK. Years later, still no fix.
C'mon Wildcard — learn to use file compression. This is a solved problem in 2026.
Anyone else hitting this? Has WC said anything about compression on the roadmap?
Am I the only one whose Dodos look like this on Xbox Series X? Every other creature looks fine, but only Dodos have this weird low-detail model. I've reinstalled the game, created multiple new saves, tested with and without mods, and it's always the same. Is this a bug or does anyone know a fix? Ark asa
Trying to breed daeodons but they are all born with inferior stats. Why is this?
This bug where a blue flash of light appears and I instantly die has happened twice. It is an AOE explosive, killing me, my tribemate, and all my dinos, but not damaging any structures. We are on unofficial dedicated server PVE with no mods.
Anyone know anything about this?
Also I cant spend my lost colony points anymore but I think thats been documented.
The same thing happens with axes and pickaxes; I haven't verified it, but I suspect it also occurs when holding nothing—even with axe and pickaxe skins—and the game feels extremely slow.
Just checking in to see if anyone else has seen this issue. Unofficial, self hosted on AMP. I'm the server owner.
When the server was was started, it was daytime, but once it got to the first night, it never became day again. I've waited throug multiple days and it just stays nighttime. The presence of stars tells me that it's not just a weird dark rendering issue, as well as when I move away from the torches, it's pitch black unless I bump gamma to 5.
I changed the map on an existing server rather than creating a new instance, but that's never caused issues in the past.
We run quite a small modlist, and there's nothing that sticks out as touching the day/night cycle.

A person on the server makes a comment of being "buttass naked" and not appreciating having Troodoons dragged into them after being a beach bob.
A person on the server says "well im curious how you look buttass naked XD" to a married woman.
This married woman went to speak to admins (as they always tell us to) that this is really inappropriate as this server advertises being a safe space.
Server owner says, and I quote, "you shouldn't have used the term that you were buttass naked".
It's giving "you got harassed for what you wear"
Oh and btw, the married woman who complained, got thrown out of the server after this as well, after playing on it for 7+ years and giving the server a lot of money in donations.
Wife and I just started on the new Genesis map for ascended, and we thought we'd splurge on a cosmetic mod (Cozy Cabin by Sandi_00) for her since we didn't end up getting the new Tides DLC, but when we got in and started building with the new skins they are constantly flickering and it makes them nearly unusable. Anyone else experience this?
The issue doesn't appear to affect other cosmetic mods (tested with the free astreaos structure skin pack right next to the structure in the video, the cozy cabin skins kept flickering while the astraeos ones did not). Edit: Wife just tried another mod by Sandi which has the same flickering issue
Any help would be appreciated! We don't want to have to refund the mod as the textures are beautiful, but also we don't want our base to look like a constant rave all the time :/
I've tried all the suggestions related to shadow flickering (turn off dlss frame gen, changing global illumination settings, shadow settings, etc.)

Whenever I try to teleport, specifically to the arctic biome, my character will turn fully black and audio will stop and then my game will crash after a few seconds. I tried to teleport there on my friends server and it worked perfectly fine. But on singleplayer it doesn't work at all, my friend has the same issue. Can anybody help me fix this?

So, im on ps5 and ive bene tryng everything to tame this stupid octopus, on Land, in the water, High level, low level, but nothing works, when It grabs me and does the shaking and open his break(the Moment when you should feed It) i Press triangle but nothing happens, ive seen countless videos on PC doing the exact same thing, but for me on ps5 doesnt work, Is It Just me?
I went to the store to check The Bobs True Tale bundle, only to find it's only called "Tides of Fortune" and not "Bobs True Tales", so my question is, is Bobs True Tales not a bundle? Does that mean i have to buy both Tides of Fortune and Galaxy Wars as two separate DLCs? If that's the case, I hope someone from Wildcard can clarify this bcoz as far as I remember, Bobs True Tales is supposed to be a one time purchase bundle like Bobs Tall Tales.
I have to admit, it’s really strange with one of these masks: when you equip it, the mask itself appears below the legs in the item menu, whereas with other cosmetic helmets, the character appears inside the helmet in the menu image.
Now i have started to look in the new Gen1 update and the more i look at it the more i want to leave this game and go back to the old one the the new ocan is unfinished to say the least its worse then the center and they made the normal raft a lot slower or the distance between the islands so large that you need to buy there ship DLC to have fun. And to me it feels more and more like the game has lost almost everything that made it special we have more and more maps releasing unfinished more and more microtransactions more and more pay to win and more and more DLCs that feel like they dont belong in the identity of the game like bobs tal tales the Cutsecens there are all funny and like they are made for kids and in Lost colony they now want to be taken series again. Why it hurts my soul and you can see it in the map trailers as well just compare the old Extinction trailer to the new one or the bobs tall tales trailers to any of the old trailers to ARK has stopped feeling like ark it feels like and ugly and worse version of all the things that i loved about the game a Dinosaur game with a bit of fantasy and space and cool lore but now its just a lot of complacently different things in one title.
For me i think im gonna go back to the old ark and wait for ARK2 in 2049 and see if they remember what this IP used to be or not till then i will not be tutching this game again and Wildcard and snail games wont be getting a single cent from me. I used to love this Ip ive been playing for almost 5 years now ark survival evolved is the game that i have speed the most time in all of my games over 2000h i have played it and i have over 600 is ASA just wanted to say that.
