TL;DR: I've obviously misunderstood what the Playlists feature is for, and I can't think of a good use for it. How are you all using it to make podcast-listening better?
I have a lot of podcasts that auto-add to my Up Next feed, and a different series of podcasts that I normally listen to with my wife when we're on a trip together.
Rather than faff about selecting episodes and adding them to my Up Next I thought I'd use this new(ish) Playlists feature for our current trip, but it doesn't work like that.
Adding episodes to a playlist is more tedious than to up-next, and ordering them once in moreso, but then it seems the only way to actually listen to it is to replace my Up Next with the content of the playlist, and then all my auto-adds still just go to this playlist and not my Up Next one.
Playlists clearly aren't for what I thought they were for, and I'm struggling to imagine what they're actually for; do any of you use this feature, and for what sort of usage pattern?
Couple of sports podcasts I listen to are available several hours before on other platforms. Anyone else experience this?
It would be good if in pocket cast when the description includes time marks. Pocket Cash will use it to automatically generate chapters for itself
Every new release episode from the past day or so is showing me this
Recent update has changed a lot of the nav bar mechanics, but chiefly my queuing of “up next” seems to clear between app sessions which is infuriating
I was using up next to store as many as 20 podcasts selectively and slide them around as I fancied the topics, whereas now I may queue an episode, and come back 5 hours later and the “up next” queue has been completely wiped
Anyone else had this issue, and is there a way to go back?
Having an issue with the latest version where push notifications are delayed and often show up after I’ve completed listening to the episode.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I want to relisten to my favourite podcasts season 1, but I am struggling with it skipping the episodes I finished every second of and if I left during the outro on my original listen, it will just resume from there.
Is there a way for me to clear this history so the app thinks I'm starting fresh?
As you can see theres a big discrepancy between the size it's taking on my phone and what the app says is downloaded. This is not the first time this has happened and I couldn't find anyone else describing this. Anyone know how to fix this without deleting the all completely and reinstalling it? The files really add up
I constantly get a screen about this while trying to use the app and it's very annoying. I don't remember this happening when I first started using Pocket Casts but now it happens every time I use the app.
I don't know why the developers are pushing this so hard but the only thing it will succeed in doing is to make me switch to a competing app.
For the first time ever, I've thought about moving off PocketCasts to something else... anyone else think this?
After few months I resubscibed paid membership on some podcast, but Pocketcasts not showing missing episodes. RSS (is still the same url) of that podcast has the missing episodes, when I check RSS in browser. How to force refresh RSS in Pocketcasts? I know about server side checking... But no option to force refresh server side RSS refresh.
I’m delighted that the PC team are going to add options for the new UI. It clearly doesn’t work for a lot of people and that needs to be addressed.
For my use case? Much better. And the new CarPlay interface (again - my use case) is a much needed improvement.
Overall, Podurama offers a solid player with good service and I feel fortunate that I can use it. Still, there's one annoyance I wish I could change. There is a solitary program among my regulars that plays much softer than the rest. A player I used in the past had a 'boost volume' option that could be applied selectively to a podcast, but I can't find anything like that with Podurama. If there is such a feature, I'd be grateful for assistance in locating it. If there isn't one, then I hope the adjustment might be considered for adoption.
Just came incredibly close to clearing my Up Next list because depending on which way you enter the list the top left can be either “Done” or “Clear”. I’m no designer but this feels madness to have two completely contrasting options in the same place depending on which way you enter the list!
