Group Work Text

Thought you all might like this exchange in a text group with a few of my coworkers. Funniest part is, I'm the only one on reddit, so the others have no idea about this sub or the picture that started it.

What is this menace that keeps coming up between the garage and driveway.

gardening adjacent.

I've pulled it, poisoned it, even salted it multiple times, and it just keeps coming back In the same spot. I'm getting close to pouring liquid nail on top of it.

Parents were on vacation when storm came through US this past week. My dad drove home to save my mom's fish and everything in the fridge and freezer. 🫡 This is the photo he sent her.

Keep in mind the fish looks pale because he suddenly had no heater, filter, or fresh oxygen for probably about 12-15 hours, and this is probably right before or after my dad hooked those things up to the generator.

Lol, my mom loves her fish so much and takes very good care of them, and this is her goddamn baby. You can even see the notes left for the person who came by to feed him, although I think she leaves them up all the time by how weathered they are, likely in case something happens to her or something because she loves this Lil fella so much.

Anyway, all her fish lived, and I'm so glad for that. This flowerhorn, her little guy, is so important to her, but he's only a few years old while she has some 15+ year old fish. He's a second or third generation flowerhorn she's been raising for personality traits she likes, and it's terrifying how interested he is in people and being petted.

All of them made it, though. Kudos to my dad for driving back down there within a matter of hours and fixing everything despite not knowing a whole lot about fish. My mom and I were both bombarding him with calls on what to do in x or y situation, and I'm glad it all worked out.
