like i thought it has the same chances as the mainline games until someone in my team pointed out it was a 1/20000 chance

Development

I wanted to ask if the game is still in development, are we getting a new generation any time soon or how often do updates happen?

I've been playing on and off for a bit here and there, but the game feels almost always the...same.

What's the best way to farm?

Hi everyone. Right now, I’m farming fossils in Unova (it’s the only region I have unlocked) and Heart Scales in Undella. Maybe you could suggest a better method? I could theoretically scrape together 200k–400k if I needed to buy a Pokémon, but I’m not considering options like farming trainers or Gym Leaders. Even though I’ve beaten the Elite Four, my Pokémon are very weak.

General Money Making Thread

i've been enjoying fossil hunting a lot, and the frisk noise is an instant dopamine hit.

I've been mostly running Kanto, but are there any other places that frisk would make comparable pokeyen to fossil hunting.

Toxic Orbs, Amulet coins etc I know are high value frisk items, so could you tell me the location and methods to best farm. Thanks.

Are Mods allowed?

i am pretty new to pokemmo, i have watched youtube videos where they have a different interface, i saw one where it gives you a confirmation screen when you try to flee from a Shiny Pokemon. i was wondering if mods are allowed that alter the interface, and give a safety net when encountering a shiny.

if they happen to be allowed please link me something like a safety net for shinys as that is a huge fear of mine to be auto pilot and run from a shiny encounter

Is PokeMMO still as active as it used to be?💙

I used to play PokeMMO quite a bit and genuinely loved the game. I never finished everything, but I put a decent amount of time into it and even managed to find a shiny.

I eventually stopped playing, not because I got bored of it, but simply because I started focusing on other things and slowly drifted away.

Recently though, I’ve been getting the urge to come back. I’ve been watching PokeMMO content on YouTube and checking Discord again, and it feels like a lot of people are playing or coming back right now.

So I’m curious — is the hype around PokeMMO still there in general, or is the current activity mostly because of Shiny Wars?

Personally, I still think PokeMMO is probably the best Pokémon MMO experience out there. Would love to hear what current players think about the state of the game in 2026.

Is PokeMMO a good way to get into the older games for someone who wants a challenge?

Hello! I've been playing PokeMMO the past week or so as a way to complete the older games up to Gen 5, and I've been having a blast so far especially with the harder trainer battles. I was wondering though if this was actually a good way to play the games for the first time, since I read somewhere that certain game features aren't included or have been changed in PokeMMO (like legendary catching and encounters), and thus affects the experience in the negative way. On the other hand, as someone who loves difficult games, I'm a bit worried that the older games might be too easy on a regular play through (still on the fence when it comes to Nuzlockeing).

I've currently just finished Erika's Gym and Celadon City, so I would like to ask if it'd be a good idea to continue with PokeMMO for its more difficult trainer battles, or swap over to the OG games for the full experience? (Any recommendations for romhacks that could achieve both would be greatly appreciated, but because of the rules of this subreddit, I won't be asking for it outright).

As a side note though, I'll probably be finishing Fire Red in PokeMMO, and I'll definitely be coming back to it once I finish the main games in the event that I choose to not do a first playthrough on them through PokeMMO.

Just saw my first shiny ever in the Safari Zone!

And I caught it with the first ball I threw at it!!!!

Better yet it's a Pokemon I like, and it has a 31 IV on Attack, but the nature that lowers its attack and raises speed

My first PokeMMO journey is officially complete… Kanto Champion!

So, I finally took the plunge into PokeMMO and, honestly… I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. 😂

I decided to take my sweet time with Kanto catching as many Pokémon as I possibly could, exploring every corner, building my team, and just enjoying the journey rather than rushing through the story.

And somehow, along the way, I even managed to stumble across a SHINY Pokémon with the increased shiny rate.

After what felt like an entire lifetime of battling, catching, leveling, I finally made it to the Elite Four.
And I did it with the team I had grown attached to throughout my journey.

One by one, they fell.
And then… Kanto Champion! 🏆
It genuinely felt like such a satisfying way to finish my first region. There’s something really cool about actually taking your time and watching your team grow from a bunch of random Pokémon into your team.

But the adventure doesn’t stop there…
Next stop: JOHTO! 🇯🇵🔥
I cannot wait to jump into the next region, discover new Pokémon, build a completely new team, and see what adventures are waiting for me.

And honestly, this is what makes PokeMMO so damn fun. The idea of eventually travelling from region to region, catching Pokémon you’ve never encountered before, building different teams and slowly creating this massive Pokémon journey across multiple generations…

THIS is the Pokémon MMO I always wanted!!

Living dex

Was planning of completing every national dex until gen 5, but since Pokémon bank is closing, decided to give pokemmo I try. My question is if in this game every Pokémon is available from kanto to unova?
