4K HDR Files are too dark

4K HDR Files are too dark

I'm having a problem with PotPlayer playing 4K videos with HDR the picture seems too dark like it's tinted and when i press to skip back or forward (5 seconds) the picture appears completely fine for a brief moment anyone has this problem? Tried bumping brightness but it doesn't look like second screenshot no matter what i do

I've attached 2 screenshots (second is how it looks when pressing back or forward for half a second)

HDR10+ video looks dark and dimmed when turning HDR correction on a SDR display. Looks completely washed out when HDR correction is off. Is there any fix?

Also if i go to the video renderer and select auto then the video brightens up for a freeze frame but dims again automatically when resuming the video.

I updated potplayer and now it no longer seems to work with VDM (virtual display monitor)

Please can anyone help, i use virtual display monitor on my ultrawide monitor. Before todays update double click the top of the potplayer window or click fullscreen would make the player fill the virtual display. Now double clicking the bar at the top just brings it to the centre of the screen and clicking fullscreen ignores the vdm and fills the whole screen.

Possible to lock window size to aspect ratio?

Is it possible to lock the window size to the aspect ratio?

ie. if i grab the corner and stretch the window it will stay perfectly aligned with the video instead of me having to be pixel perfect?

I know there is the 'fit video to aspect ratio' option, but that only works once I have the correct window size that i want.

My new App

I watch a lot of movies and I like to watch movies after downloading them locally so for a long time I have been searching for a video player that could play all formats of videos without ads. I was sick of all those players that show ads So I created.my own custom media player for watching movies and playing videos using Android compose.I have added all common features and gestures and there are some unique ones as well.My app is completely ad free and has a nice glassy premium ui So try this and app and let me know what I can improve in the app to enhance the user experience. This is the app link :

Is there a way to stop Potplayer from caching/downloading the ENTIRE video?

Hey everyone!

I use PotPlayer for long YouTube videos and livestreams, but it keeps trying to buffer the entire 2-3 hour video all at once. It maxes out my internet connection like a download manager..
Worse, if I close the player, the cache clears and it has to load everything from scratch the next time I open it. (so using that much bandwidth is of no use ultimately..)

Is there a way to limit like the forward buffer to just 1-2 minutes ahead, similar to how the YouTube site works?
Also, im open to recommendations for similar open-source players if PotPlayer just isn't built for this (Or hasn't added the settings yet)

TLDR : PotPlayer uses all my bandwidth to buffer 3-4 hour YouTube videos. How to limit this?
Is there a setting to stop PotPlayer from caching entire YouTube videos at once...?
