Hi everyone,

I'm new to Mumbai and will soon be xyz, Supreme Business Park, Powai.

I'll be staying near Bhandupeshwar Mahadev Temple (Bhandup East). Since I don't own a scooter or bike, What's the best way to commute to the office during peak hours?

* Should I take a BEST bus, Uber/Rapido, or combine train + auto?

* How much time does each option usually take during morning rush hour?

* Which option is the most reliable and cost-effective for daily travel?

Any specific bus numbers or routes would be really helpful.

I am somewhat liking a flat there and close to finalising.

Can someone who stays there give feedback about the society and locality?

Any red flags?

Update for those who are also looking for a flat in Vicinia.

I asked about the following:

1. Connectivity and availability of app based autos/cabs : No red flags. All round availability.
2. Nearby shops for groceries/veggies etc: Vegetable and fruit vendors come twice a week. Nahar and DMart are within 5 mins distance in auto.
3. Water availability: No issues. Some flats may have smelly water so check that out.
4. Stray dogs and rats: Stray dogs is a sensitive topic but situation is much better. Rats issue is solved.
5. Noise issues: Depends on the wing. SRA facing side + floor are factors.
6. Any other red flags: None as per the 3 kind individuals here who spoke to me.

I'm looking for Marathi style Vada Pav (not something you get in restaurants or Sweets shop).

It is something normally on corners of street. There is one by D-Mart Nahar but they have not been open last 2 times I visited - most likely it's raining hard.

So I am looking for a flat in Powai and I have got some options around Pawai Vihar, Jheel Darshan just on the JVLR Road, so I just want to understand if it’s a good locality, if there are grocery shops nearby, chicken fish centres, low end dhabas or restaurants, medicine shops, laundry, etc ..so just want to understand those things.

I am new in mumbai and i have taken a flat on rent with 37000 per month rent and 1 lac deposit. Owner lives in Dubai and made another local person power of attorney. The broker asked me to pay 43000 annual maintenance charge to society and mentioned it will be adjusted in my deposit. So, I paid to society trusting him. Now he also did some repair work in the flat and asked me to pay him 8000 and the same would be adjusted in first month rent as owner is out of india so it is more convenient. I paid 8000 as well. Do you think this is okay? I am worried if I dont get scammed
