4400 PSI Pressure Washer Pump Oil Recommendation

I own a Westinghouse WPX4400 pressure washer. This unit uses a 4400 psi engine direct drive triplex pump. In the User Manual supplied with the unit, it states that after the first 20 hours of use, and then annually, the oil in the pump should be changed using only SAE 85W-90 oil. However supplied with the unit was an Operation and Parts Llist Manual for the engine direct drive Triplex high pressure pump. In this document is states that non-detergent SAE 10W/30 oil should be used. Does anyone have an opinion which oil I should be using? I called Westinghouse Tech Support, and they recommended I follow the information from the pump operation and parts list manual, and use SAE 10W/30 non-detergent oil.

Karcher Pressure Washer Motor Issue - burning smell

My Karcher K2 started making a burning smell during usage and then cut out. I opened it up and found a part of the motor looks to have burnt away. The carbon brushes also appear worn down. See pictures.

I can replace the carbon brushes myself but I’m assuming they aren’t the primary cause of the burning smell and cutting out.

Two questions

  1. what is the burnt part and can it be replaced?
  2. if so, by me or a professional?

Two Different Ryobi 1800 at Home Depot

I'm new to the pressure washing community. I recently bought this AR Blue Clean XWM2300 but I'm not happy with the product because when looking for longer pressure washing hoses, I realized that it uses an M22-15mm connection, which doesn't seem to be the industry standard. All the hoses I see on Amazon are M22-14mm.

So, I found the following Ryobi 1800:

The second link contains additional items, hence the higher price but why does it have 2 different wands? One regular wand and a metal one.

Also, how I know if the pressure washer hose is M22-14mm? I looked on the Ryobi's website but it doesn't state it anywhere. https://www.ryobitools.com/products/46396055583

My use case is mainly for cleaning my cars and maybe general household stuff.

Powerwasher Help

I am getting low pressure with my Simpson Power Washer, I replaced the pump with an OEM, Carberatuer, hose, changed oil, and spark plug. It starts in one pull but seems like it's not getting enough RPM when I pull the trigger. I've manually move the governor arm when it's on and it doesn't increase the pressure, just idles higher. I'm about to give up. It has the same symptoms throughout all my efforts.

Question: is this(advertised as motorless pressure washing nozzle) genuine or fake?

So a little context, I’ve been doing a lot of pressure washing lately and a loved one thought they’d make things easier by purchasing a light weight motorless attachment. It’s very well meaning, but the more I looked at it and tested it out it does not seem to be genuine.

For starters, the instructions are basically just pictures with no description of function. It did not come with a hose, and the attachments meant for the faucets do not fit the standard. The handle seems to attach to a regular hose nozzle attachment fine enough, but in use it just seems like an overly complicated gun nozzle. It could peel up large clumps of moss, but could not clean stone beyond that.

Further more, I managed to find the product itself if not identical to it on Amazon with only 3 5 star reviews all posted on the same day. It should be noted this was not the place where they purchased the item.

So I’m just here doing my due diligence, seeing if I missed something and if not raise awareness to a bad product.

Sourcing seal kit for greenworks water pump?

I’ve been messing with a pressure washer I got from a neighbor that wasn’t working properly. Thought it was just the gun, but with a new gun I’ve confirmed the manifold is leaking. My engineer brother said it looked like the housing was actually in good shape and probably needed a rebuild. So the ports in the manifold are all ~15mm I’m assuming that is the size of kit I need but I’m just wondering if anyone can offer any guidance on what to replace or what to look for online specifically. It seems like the seals are basically shot, it flows like a sieve but no visible damage is present.

I attached one quick photo but I can take better pics if needed. It’s off a greenworks 2000psi electric washer. There are complete new pump heads available on eBay but I’d prefer to rebuild with a kit if possible.

Won't start without wand trigger pulled

I have a brand new Westinghouse 3800 gas unit. It takes about 5 pulls to get started. After the second pull, the pressure in the pump essentially locks up the pull cord. I now wrap a band around the spray gun trigger to eliminate the pressure and can pull freely. Is this a common workaround or does it indicate a problem?
