r/progmetal

Been thinking about how many amazing bassists are in Prog rock/metal and don’t always get the representation they should. This is for the newer bands, not the classics (so no Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Tony Levin, etc). So, some of my faves (granted, I don’t listen to a ton of Prog death/extreme metal, so I’m sure I’ll miss a ton:

John Myung (Dream Theater) - obviously….if you can actually hear him 🤣

Conner Green (former Haken) - damn I’m gonna miss him

Cole Millward (Nospun)

Dan Briggs (BTBAM, Nova Collective)

Jon Stockman (Karnivool)

Lukas Ohlson (karmanjakah)

Randy George (Neal Morse Band, solo, etc)

Dale Prinsse (Caligulas Horse)

I’m missing a shit ton…..whatcha got?

Obviously AI-generated album cover, sounds nothing like the djent legends and the "vocals" are blatantly synthesised.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

E: I emailed the management and they replied saying they'll sort it out.

Thought some of you here might find it useful, so I’m sharing the full list below (Original post is here on IG.)

If you’ve got any other suggestions, I’d love to check them out too.
