Pickleball court

Does Qatar support pickleball? Are there any official courts acknowledged? If it’s a fastest growing sport why can’t I see courts?

Official means for example: Padel courts, they are everywhere in Qatar.

I’m so furious.

So on my way back to home from work, I saw a board for vacant apartments and the building seemed to be newly constructed, so I took a picture of the number and then later went home to call him.

I asked him, do you guys have “2BHK”, to that he replied first come and see, then decide, it immediately set me off because he was acting a bit weird. Anyways the house for rent was near my work so I visited it, and when I did the guy that I had spoken to wasn’t there but another guy opened the house, gave me the tour of the whole house, so I called him immediately and said, how much for “2BHK”, and he told me 3,500. Sweet right? Newly constructed building and 2bhk, unbelievable?

So I didn’t wanted to miss this opportunity, the other side of somewhat believing that this was true, was the fact that it was a very small building, only 1 house constructed per floor, no lift, the second room was extremely small but i was gonna use it for storage room anyways.

So I informed my current building manager that I’ll be leaving this month as also my contract expires, and had arranged the moving guys also

The guy then asked me advanced payment for the apartment booking, I said I’ll come again to view the apartment, this time I came when he was there, same thing, I saw the whole apartment and finally when I checked everything, I said let’s finalize this house, and he tells me,

I’m giving you these 2 bedrooms only, aI said what the fuck do you mean? That illiterate fuck goes like you asked for 2 bedroom, and I corrected him by saying, yeah we spoke about 2BHK, 2 bedroom hall & kitchen, what are you on about? And he tells me no no, he plans to, partition the house where he would give the hall to another family, put up a divider and door within the apartment

I told him straight, are you nuts? How much do you want for the house, don’t ruin it, and he goes, 5,500. I said are you nuts? No lift and a very small room, and you want 5.5 for it? He said he’ll earn that much money from doing the partition of the house, and he’d already given cheques to the building owner (Qatari) and quote on quote, “This is business”

i was furious, told him nobody’s gonna pay 3,500 for just 2 bedrooms, and left. Seriously with what has been going on since last year, some people don’t miss the opportunity to take advantage of the situation and others. I know it’s illegal for him to do partition in apartments. And because of them, the rents are high.

Please note My baby’s age is just 6 days and her mother is still physically not fit to travel and wait anywhere. What should I do? Do anyone have similar kind of experience?

Optics glasses with foreign prescription

Do optics stores in Qatar (stores who sell medical eye glasses) accept measurements and prescriptions from a foreign Ophthalmologist (Arab country) or it needs to be from a local one in Qatar?
In order to buy the eye glasses from them directly without having to go to a doctor again.

Cyclists of Qatar, Help a fellow beginner cyclist.

Beginner level cycling enthusiast, currently using a Triban RC100 from a friend. I usually do 30km in Barwa - Ras Abu aboud stretch, and recently rode in Lusail track for mixed training day and I felt the difference the cycle brings!

I am looking at a used, great condition TRIBAN RC500 for 1500QAR.

My budget is 2000 QAR, and I got some shops offering me Java Siloru 3 around 1800-1900 etc.

I am looking for speed, reliability and quality. Which one should I go with ? or are there any other brands you can suggest for 2-2.5K budget roadbike. Thank you.

Got a call from MOI cyber crime

Hi just got a call from MOI cyber crime and asked me to visit the police station tomorrow. I am not sure what I did wrong but I am kind of terrified.

Edit: Thank you for all the concern and support. I just got out of the police station. The case filed against me was related to depositing counterfeit cash into an ATM. I sometimes handle cash deposits for our company, and this was the first time something like this has happened. I’m still not sure why the cybercrime department handled the case, but thankfully everything has been clarified.

Please be extra careful when accepting cash from anyone to avoid experiencing the same situation.

Women Shouldn’t Have to Constantly Defend Their Honor

Living in Qatar as a single North African woman has been a very eye-opening experience for me, and unfortunately not always in a positive way.

I’ve noticed that some people immediately attach stereotypes to foreign women who are single, especially North African women. In certain situations, basic friendliness or simply asking for help gets interpreted in a very disrespectful way.

What concerns me is how normalized these assumptions seem to be. No woman should feel like she has to constantly prove that she deserves basic respect.

What makes it worse is the entitlement behind some interactions. There are men who act as if doing a small favor, helping you with something simple, or even just speaking politely means they deserve something personal or sexual in return. It creates this uncomfortable feeling that they already see you through a degrading stereotype before even getting to know you.

The inappropriate comments, suggestive messages, and smug behavior from some people are honestly disturbing. It’s exhausting having to constantly shut down assumptions just because you’re a single foreign woman.

I want to make it clear that I’m not talking about everyone. I’ve met kind and respectful people here too. But repeated experiences with entitlement, harassment, and disrespectful assumptions have made me feel genuinely uncomfortable, and I don’t think this behavior should continue being normalized or excused.

I’m also curious about the legal side of this: if someone sends harassing, insulting, or sexually inappropriate messages online, are there legal protections against that in Qatar?

Is this normal??? I don't recall seeing bills without Eastern Arabic numerals on the bottom left before (always like the bottom bill in the picture with Indo-Arabic)

Question to men since it’s Jet Ski season

I genuinely need to know why men get crazy when they even SMELL girls on a boat or a jet ski or something and they start following them around and making gestures. Do they genuinely think these girls want their attention? Do they know how bothersome it is? Like it ruins our fun every single time.. it’s so strange since usually especially qatari men are very respectful on land??? Why does that switch in the sea lmao? Need to their reason fr

Live by learning and watch

This uber driver had a 4.59 rating. I got in anyway as I was just focused on getting to work on time. He talked to me nicely and he was silent all the way, he was driving perfectly and got me there early. I told him I was giving him 5 stars and shockingly he said no "Don't." And I asked Why?" He said “because if I go above 4.6, Uber gives me airport rides. I can't do airport rides my wife's on chemo and I need to be 10 mins away from home everyday ."

Reporting A school teacher anonymously?

Where can I report a teacher anonymously?

Short story is that she is borderline emotionally abusive to students, for example she makes students cry and straight out calls girls insecure just because they wear makeup? And weirdly VERY friendly with the male students. But with the female students it just seems like she has it out for them all the time for no reason.

She even wears provocative clothing! Makes no sense how she hasn't been fired or reported for this insane behavior. This is a high-school teacher btw

Tiramisu - Flow

I understand, Flow has one of the best Tiramisu in Doha. I get it, inflation is happening.

But within the span of 12-16 months to switch from:
1- A big rectangular Tiramisu for QAR45

to

2- A moderate square Tiramisu for QAR45

to

3- A small triangle Tiramisu for QAR45

Like hello?? I get it, businesses gotta make money, but I thought business models need to have some sort of ethics. I guess MoCI can't do much, since it is within the business's legal rights to amend prices based on their sold products.

Anyway, need recommendation for another place with good tiramisu. Thanks!
