Whatnot sellers

I've been watching a lot of Whatnot Quince shows and buying way too much. lol. There are some sellers that get so upset when the auctions don't go high enough. Sometimes I can understand their frustration, but watching one recently where the person is just repeating the cost in this tone of disbelief even when the price is inline with every other whatnot seller of these items. They have to realize they aren't going to get new prices on them. Especially when the buyer is paying almost ten bucks for shipping and don't get to return anything.

Just saw someone complaining about getting $27 on an item that is only 52 new. Once the buyer pays 9.21 shipping and it's in a ragged, torn plastic bag, and sometimes items have minor flaws, they are not much better off than buying new, where they can return if they don't like it or it doesn't fit. Or if it's meant as a gift for someone, you can't give the person a gift receipt, so there is also that to factor in.

Don't get me wrong, I've gotten a lot of great deals on Whatnot, but I've also paid near full price on some.

Feature request: one search result per product, not per color

I love Quince. I find myself checking Quince first whenever I need anything and Im rarely disappointed. My only complaint is that they show the same product in different colors in search results. It can be hard to know what you’ve already seen and it makes browsing annoying.

I wish there was a toggle in the filter options for showing one instance of each item.

Anyone else feel the same?

What's the last thing you returned because it didn't fit right - and what went wrong?

I keep buying clothes online that look totally right in the photos and then arrive wrong. Not the style, that's usually fine, it's the fit or the fabric. Too long in the arms, weirdly stiff, drapes nothing like it looked, that kind of thing. Trying to work out if it's just me being cursed or if everyone deals with this.

So I'm curious what your last one was. What's the most recent thing you returned or just quietly regretted, and what specifically was off about it? And before you bought it, did you do anything to try to avoid that, like checking measurements or reading reviews or watching videos, or did you just kind of hope for the best? Curious too if there's a certain thing that's always a gamble for you, some body area or type of garment that never works out no matter what.

Not selling anything, just genuinely nosy about how people handle this because I clearly haven't figured it out.

Quince dupe for Patagonia Better Sweater?

Been looking at the Patagonia better sweater long enough to pull the trigger but then I see one that looks very similar on the quince site.

If you’ve used both, are they comparable? If so I don’t need to pay 2-3x just for the patch. Have enough of their pieces of outerwear that have been worth it.

The hate is undeserved

I finally made a few Quince purchases in the past 12 months after watching and reading reviews. Two linen shirts, a cotton oxford, a pair of French terry joggers, and two linen pillow cases.

Maybe I’m lucky and I’ve coincidentally had zero quality control issues. I don’t know. But all my items have been great, especially at the price. All natural fibers. All in line with or better than mall brands and for better prices.

I don’t get the hate

Quince will not delete my account after requested.

Backstory: I received an email that an order was placed under my Quince account. I did not place this order, someone in Chicago logged in under my account (I cannot explain how) and placed an order using her own payment method. I spoke to customer service and requested to change my password, which was not possible because I "set up my account through socials". Then I sent a request to delete my account, which you have to do through an email. Five days later I just received an email, see below. So now I have a vulnerable account, cannot change my password and cannot delete my account. I am at a loss for how this happened and what to do next. Anyone have experience with this?

Dear Requester,

We are unable to proceed with your Deletion request due to the criteria provided at this time.

Regards,

Privacy Team at Quince

Please make a size xxs.

Please Quince. Please. I love your stuff but everything runs about a size too large. Please consider making clothing that fits slimmer body types too.

I came down hard on Quince, but I’m giving them another chance.

Every clothing item in my very first Quince order had quality control problems. I was so excited to finally place this order as someone who doesn’t have much money, but I couldn’t believe the problems I had. It was so disappointing.

The customer service was also questionable. I circled around explaining the same problem a couple of times, and then finally requested an escalation. This resulted in a very heartfelt, detailed and personalized email. I was surprised that someone would take the time to do that.

The only thing they offered was to replace the items to see if it was maybe a one off. But it was literally a problem with every single clothing item in my order, so I declined. I had read numerous comments about long delays getting a refund and insisted that they please personally keep an eye on my return. I was very worried about a delay or possibly something happening and not getting my money back.

Several days went by after I dropped the items off at the post office and nothing. No notification that they can see my items are on their way back, and so once again I was worried. I reached out to Quince through the email conversation they started with me and the next day was told that they went ahead and refunded everything.

There’s something about this company and their business model that’s creating problems for them. But I also think the people behind this company and their intentions are good.

Part of my order included organic sheets. I forget what they’re called, but they are known for durability and helping to keep you cooler during hot weather. They’re cotton, not linen. I’m very sensitive to smells, but despite other people asserting problems with this and their sheets, I didn’t have a reaction. What I was smelling was expected and mild. And I would argue for a darker colored sheet you’re more likely to initially smell something. I ordered these sheets in a deep green.

The sheets are made in India, one of my favorite countries for their excellent sewing and consistency with well-made clothing. This has been my experience across multiple brands. Some people have said they found that these sheets aren’t very soft, but if you learn about this particular material, you’ll understand just how incredibly durable and long lasting it is, and why it actually helps keep you cooler.

We live in one of the hottest climates in the US and don’t have air-conditioning. I’ve had these sheets for several months now and love them. The stitching is intact, the color is even with no variation, and although they lightened a bit after the first wash, it’s more like it ever so softly took the edge off of the color. No drastic fading. The price for organic sheets can’t be found anywhere else.

I’d also love a blanket to layer on top, but from what I’m seeing all of their blankets have a loose open weave, which can easily snag. I bought two sets of sheets of the same color so I can alternate them while one is in the hamper waiting to be washed. One night a few weeks ago it was pretty chilly and so I pulled the flat sheet out of the hamper and doubled it up with the other flat sheet and felt warm and comfortable.

I’d love to have a lightweight comforter made from this exact same material. Maybe a duvet with an insert, or preferably two of these flat sheets sewn together with some nice batting sandwiched between them. With some top stitching to keep it in place, it’d be the perfect blanket to go with these sheets. The material is really durable.

My account is new, so I’m not sure this post will go through, but I wanted to say thank you to Quince because I know they read these posts. And now I’m probably going to place an order for a few more clothing items and see how that goes.

Thank you! 😊

Silk tops?

I’m traveling this Fall to Europe and considering bringing Quince silk tanks or silk dress that I can layer. Anyone have experience with the quality? How do they travel? I’ll have to do laundry in the sink-how do they do after hand washing? Thanks.

Quince in November

Hey everyone, I’m planning my quince this November in Ottawa, Canada, specifically around the Orléans area, and we’re having a hard time finding an affordable hall/venue to host it at. We’re looking for a place that can fit around 50–70 people and ideally allows us to bring our own food if needed. It should also have lots of space for dancing, and it would be great if we could bring our own décor or if the venue offers decorating services too. In-house catering and drink service would be a bonus, but honestly we’re mostly just looking for something that won’t break the bank for my parents. Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Pintuck Comforter Question

Please forgive me if this is a silly question, but I have never owned anything like this before. For the pin tuck comforter, is this meant to be used on the bed as is like in the photo? Or does it need to have a duvet cover on it?

Be Honest!

I’m considering accepting an interview with their customer service department. I’d love some real insight from those that actually work there before the recruiter sells me on it🫣

I do have a family so they are my main priority. Does work/life balance exist there? Benefits?

I’m all ears!

Defective silk slip dress?...

Sorry for the terrible picture. I ordered this maxi silk slip dress. It's about 59 inches long - so long, I wouldn't be able to wear it without tripping and falling. Plus, there's a weird diagonal line on the bottom. None of this is mentioned in product photos or reviews. Customer service could only report it as defective, is all, but no apologies or anything. What the heck? Where did this dress even come from?

Bought jeans from quince live sale and they’re missing the top button.

I watched hours of the sale while the sales person revealed lots of issues with lots of items and laughed to myself why anyone would be spending so much money on items with tears and holes and all kinds of problems.

These jeans came up and they were wrapped in plastic and they said nothing about any faults. Got them today and I’m happy they fit beautifully, but they are missing the top button. I never would have bid if I knew that. I paid $41 shipped for these $50 Bella straight jeans.

Does anyone have advice on the cheapest way to repair this issue? I’m not much of a sewer and think that taking it to a tailor will end up costing me more than the retail value of the jeans.

Accidentally clicked cancel return, item already in transit. Any advice?

Customer support has not been great. They told me they’ve contacted the warehouse team and will get back to me the next steps. I have the receipt from FedEx showing the item was dropped off.

I have very little hope and feel awful thinking I’m about to be out $360.

One single click on the screen while scrolling to track my return and it was canceled. No confirmation or anything. Awful design.

Quince linen = worse than Walmart

I’ll start off by saying I have bought several Quince items of clothing and, for price point, been satisfied. However todays’s experience was utterly shameful.

I bought a Quince so-called “European” linen fitted sheet after my Crate and Barrel of same became threadbare after less than 2 years. Linen is generally (spending in quality and weight) supposed to wear like iron compared to most high thread count cottons. Well, it arrived today and I immediately sensed something was a bit off as I opened the package. It was stuffed haphazardly in the bag almost as if it was used. Anyway I washed it thinking maybe this is their packaging?
Dumb. I took it out of the dryer and placed it on the bed and saw it was discolored as if it was bleached AND had threadbare holes!

If this is their quality control it blows. I would run not walk away from their sheets if this is how they ship an allegedly new item. Absolutely disreputable.

Body suits

I ordered a body suit and honestly … what a joke? It’s SHEIN quality. I think the comparison to skims and other brands on the site is totally misleading.
