Should I even bother filing a claim?

Been caseless on my Razr and just dropped it today on concrete (dog jerked leash while I was getting the mail) it was open and it landed on its back. Crack is pretty minor and has some housing scraps, these two pics were the worst of the damage sustained. I have insurance on my phone via the carrier so that's not a problem, only 89$ +tax for a replacement device just wondering if it's even worth it. The damage is relatively minor and I can live with it so I'm thinking maybe save my first claim in case something major happens to it. What do you think?

Random apps keep downloading onto my phone

For some reason google play store keeps trying to download google meet, threads , surf shark, random apps that I don't use anymore and whenever I check in the manage app section I can't seem to find it and I have to manually search the app to cancel the downloads. I tried everything to turning off auto updates and checking but for some reason it wants to download the same apps and there's nothing for me to stop it.

Letting my razr go after 15 months

I'm going to preface this by saying, the display did not kick the bucket on me. For all intents and purposes the phone is still working like it did when I got it.

I wanted to try a foldable, so I got the razr 50s (Softbank branded version of the razr 2024 for the Japanese market). This is a leasing contract, so after a minimum of two years, I can return it (or decide to keep it for a higher monthly fee). My intention was to use it for 24 months and then return it.

I didn't make it that far.

Reasons are a few minor things that just annoy me, and one major thing that makes the phone virtually useless.

Minor issues:

  1. I use Microsoft SwiftKey on my phone. I find it easier and more intuitive to use than Gboard. The external display however does not support anything but Gboard. So I set SwiftKey as the default for the internal display and just decided to live with it - But, tough luck. Open an app on the external display with the keyboard open, transition to internal display, and the phone will just go ahead and set Gboard as default again for internal. I had to redo these settings more times than I can count.
  2. Buggy external display. This is a new one. Recently the external display decided that Discord is allotted a whole whopping quarter of the external screen, and no more. Unusable.
  3. Camera settings. I don't understand them. Probably never will. Why does the selfie mode randomly start a three-second timer for apparently no reason? There's no setting that corresponds with this. Why is it on by default? Why can I not turn it off? Why can't I even seem to reliably reproduce what makes it go? What the hell is going on?!
  4. Very minor issue: It's virtually impossible to safely open this phone with one hand. That's fair enough, at least it stays safely shut.
  5. Probably my own fault: I chose Koala Grey as the color. After fifteen months now, the felty texture has now become smooth as a river stone. Not pretty. But I'll attribute that to my sweaty hands.

Major issue:

Cell signal. It's abysmal.

It worked fine, at least as far as I can tell, for two weeks after I bought it. Then I noticed more and more places where I somply wouldn't get any cell reception. Even in places where I should have one, it just wouldn't connect.

I reset it to factory settings, updated it, tried every troubleshooting step under the sun, but nope, no worky.

Removing and reinserting the sim card often recovered a connection so I figured there might be something wrong with the sim tray - I changed carriers, requested an eSim instead of a physical one, and lo and behold, the problem got... less bad.

Cell reception was still crap, but at least it was workable.

Until recently, when the whole thing took a nose dive again - somehow this coincided with the Android 16 update. Probably coincidence. Anyway, now I don't have any cell service at all over half of the time. Not even an exaggeration.

So now it's time to return this thing to the leasing company before something actually breaks that I have to pay for, and be done with it. It was a fun little thing for a while - just got too frustrating.

what are the best accessories for razr fold you got or found?

I plan to buy a razr fold but didn't see many accessories or high quality accessories. Asking to se if you can help on that.

I appreciate:
- Cases (all the phone and pithaka style, with magsafe)

- Matte film (for inner and outer screen)

- magsafe accessories (like to hold the phone)

Thinking about going naked

So I just bought the Razr 2025 ultra since it was basically half off the 2026 version. I'm coming from a zflip 5 and have had flip phones for about 5 years starting with the flip followed by the 4 and then the 5 for nearly 3 years.

I take care of my phones and haven't had many problems other than the flip 3 but Samsung replaced that one under warranty.

I have the mountain trail edition and she is pretty I love the wood and how it feels but she's a little slippery. The naked look without a case looks great but I'm concerned about damage. Any have souls or there gone naked without a case for a year that have any advice. Mr. Mobile says that he does but getting a phone reviewer if something happens he has ways to replace his phone that I do not.

Razr 70 Ultra and dust?

My current daily driver phone (a Nothing 2) is starting to die, and I'm considering moving on.

I really like the look of these new clamshell folding phones, like the 70 Ultra, mainly because of the small pocket size.

But I see people online saying things about the dust resistance.

I'm one of those people who takes my phone everywhere. I'm not sure I could cope with a phone that I can't, for example, take to the beach.

Is that a really big problem for these foldables? Does sand easily get into the mechanism?

Razr Fold Owners-- How Many Software Updates?

Hey all.

The Razr Fold was released in late May 2026. How many security updates have you received since then?

I ask because I had the Razr Fold and liked it a lot. Battery life is insanely good and the software, overall, was good. I returned it because it had a few glitches and I had no faith that Motorola would regularly update the phone. Happy to be proven wrong-- just wanted to see where things stand.

Here is one glitch: Saved an app "pair" consisting of three apps on the desktop. When I clicked on that "pair" (of three apps), only two would show up. This glitch didn't happen all of the time, but pretty consistently. Got annoying and didn't give me a great feeling about how clean the software was when combined with a few others.

Switching audio output

New owner of the fold and enjoying it so far. Is there a way to quickly switch audio output from lets say bluetooth to the phone speakers?

I also forgot how frustrating it is to not receive gmail notifications, any tips on resolving this would be amazing!

Idk what to do.

My inner screen is starting to fail (pink and green line), and it's within warranty, but I need to get my outer screen repaired, and I'm scared Motorola would deny the warranty claim for the inner screen. I've got a tiny area with dead pixels.

Using repair claim

I cracked the front screen on my 60 Ultra, and I still have 3 insurance/repair claims on it.

My main concern is that it says it may take up to a week to repair it/send me a replacement. Does that really mean I have to go a week without my phone?? I literally use it for work, and only most of my tasks can I get around without my personal device.

Do they, by chance, send you something else you can activate your SIM card with in the interim?

I guess that's the end ...

This line appeared yesterday, a few days after the end of the european warranty (2years). No sudden fall, it happened just after I opened the inner screen.

That will be my first and last foldable phone I believe, although I really liked the form factor.

I like to maintain my own devices and keep them for more than 2 years, but foldables are exactly the inverse of repairable devices.

How we feeling about the razr fold?

I've been hoping Motorola would do a book foldable for so long.

How is it?

I can get it (through work discount) for 900 euros from Motorola's website. Worth it?
