Update: I still don’t know why my brand new truck won’t work
I posted previously about my brand new fcx24m Tacomas back wheels skipping, and got a bunch of replies with suggestions on what was wrong. Thanks everyone. I have also been corresponding with fms
unfortunately none of the suggestions seemed to be the culprit. The main three were rear diff / the d shaped connector. Transmission. And servo shift end point adjustment. the diff and servo were suggested by fms support.
I disassembled the read diff and everything looked fine. Gears, the d shaped connector, driveshaft. All looked good. I also cannot spin the wheels and rear driveshaft separately, so i know the diff is solid.
I disassembled the transmission and everything looked fine. All the gears and everything look fine and mesh together. I also swapped in the metal gear that comes included so now all the gears are metal. I couldn’t find anything to suggest it was broken or faulty or not working.
next I adjusted servo shift end point and actually found that it was not set up well. Neutral did not exist on my rig and neutral was just in high gear as well. I adjusted this according to a guide I found online and now it shifts into each gear properly.
BUT the back wheels still skip. I’m honestly so lost and confused. I know everyone says half of rc is tinkering, but is this common for a brand new rtr rc?
here is a google drive folder with pics and vids of everything: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1HwoOrC0vuE3NY4wdRmRSqIXqklJuYAm8
if anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. At this point Im not sure if the hobby is for me. Driving is fun, but troubleshooting sucks man.
