Hi all,

It seems that twinge a couple of days adjusting the margins in the settings does not work anymore. Font size, paragraph setting etc all work, but when I want to adjust margins (top/bottom/left/right) nothing happens.

Is this problem known and is there a fix?

is there a method to sync bookcovers across all devices?

it would be very convenient if I want to change a particular bookcover, and I can do it remotely from any device I have on hand.

I've been using your app for about two or maybe three weeks now, and I really like it on my Viwoods Reader e-ink device (it's Android-based, of course).

I do have three questions, if any of the developers are available to answer:

1. Bookmarking

At the moment, bookmarking seems to be a two-tap action and, in my opinion, it's not positioned very conveniently. Do you have any plans to implement bookmarking like other reading apps (Kobo, PocketBook, Kindle, etc.), where you can simply tap the top-right corner of the page/screen to add or remove a bookmark?

2. Hardcover integration

I track my reading progress using the Hardcover app. Even though I managed to integrate its API, I currently have to manually sync my book after every reading session. Will this synchronization become automatic in the future, similar to how cloud syncing works now?

3. Libby integration

Have you considered integrating or partnering with Libby in some way? I'd really like to move exclusively to your app, but I can't open Libby DRM-protected books at the moment (something that PocketBook supports).

Hi, just found this app. It’s great. Is it possible to change the book background without changing the background of the whole interface? I wish to use the inbuilt book theme colours but it then changes my Home Screen( the grid view of all my books) I tried the custom css but couldn’t figure it out. Thanks in advance.

My suggestion is that maybe the sticky progress bar can replace the default progress bar? Because it looks so much better. It also looks strange when the default one appears as you hover over it.

My other suggestion is that we should be able to customize the WPM when choosing the "show remaining time" as not everyone reads at the same speed.

Hi, I was using a nightly build of Readest without any issues. I updated to the new stable version 0.11.16 and since then the app crashes constantly. I tried clearing data and reinstalling from scratch, logged back in, the sync loaded my library fine, but when trying to open a book the app closes immediately. I also noticed that if the app closes while still syncing, the next time you try to open it it crashes as well. It doesn't seem to be related to any specific setting, the version simply causes an immediate crash on my device. Is anyone else experiencing this? Device: Moto G54, Android. Version: 0.11.16.

So it's been nearly two weeks now, my custom themes aren't saving. All the new themes that I attempted to make disappeared after a refresh. And now the problem has gotten worse: not only that I can't make any new themes now I also can't edit my preexisting ones. After a refresh the changed colors would go back to how they were before. Since this morning, the custom link color isn't working. For example in the image below the link was supposed to be purple but it remains the default blue. How can I fix this? Please help.

I'm using Readest Web on windows.

I just wanted to drop a massive thank you to the developers of Readest.

I’ve been using the app for a bit now, and the feature set is incredible.

Thanks to the AGPLv3 license, I was actually able to use my favorite LLM code generator to tweak the app. Now, I don't just read EPUB books (the original use case), but I also have a built-in RSS reader so I can do all of my daily news and longform magazine reading in one place. (This is aided by a FreshRSS server, which allows me to fetch full articles for newspapers and magazines I'm subscribed to by using the access cookie.)

Another small tweak that greatly improved my workflow was adding an automated sync for annotations and highlights directly into my Obsidian vault (aided by WebDAV).

I was previously worried about the complexity of self-hosting, and though I'm not entirely sure how I managed it, as I was just following the instructions sent by the LLM, it turned out to be a painless and fairly quick process. Sure, I paid for a lifetime account to support the team, but I now also have my library and sync also running on a VPS, until I get a dedicated mac mini.

The fact that this app is so powerful out of the box and built on an open foundation that allows for this kind of customization is amazing. Kudos to the team for keeping it open and building such a fantastic tool!

I have a lot of books in the readest library and it's very useful to be able to select a filter that shows only unread and reading books for example, where in I can turn off viewing for finished books or add a custom filter where I can view only a particular collection. Readest already has a sorting feature, but it gets really messy if you have a lot of books in the readest library

Is there any keyboard shortcut to play and pause the text-to-speech (TTS) on PC?

I recently just got an e-reader and decided to use Readest to manage my library. However, when I go to import books on my Android e reader, I can only import one book at a time. Is there a way to import more than one book at a time?

After the June 19 update, tap-to-paginate on Android is behaving strangely.

Pagination only works when tapping on the empty margins at the sides of the screen. If I tap on text (on the right side, where the next-page tap zone usually is), the page does not turn. As a result, when reading in paged mode, I constantly have to search for an empty area near the screen edges to tap in order to turn the page, which is not user-friendly. In addition, many taps are not registered correctly, making page turns unreliable and frustrating.

This behavior was not present before the update and significantly impacts the reading experience.

Hi! I'm a former Calibre user who DID look for these answers but have thus far not found any ... forgive me for how simple these questions may seem but all I'm really hoping to use this for is to be able to see my library, mostly so I don't idiotically buy or download a book I already have. Sometimes of course I'll want to read the book via Readest, but that's a secondary use case.

• Art Work and Metadata. Some of the books I have do not have cover art so I've manually added them or used the Auto-Retrieve function (awesome) -- but then when I go back and look later, it's not in the "shelf" -- it might be on the book itself, but on that top presentation layer it still is the original no image (or wrong image or whatever was there). How can I fix THIS?
• Groups/Shelves. Speaking of that level, if I want to group into ... Groups, say, "Baseball" or whatever ... I know I'm a dummy here, but HOW do I do this? I just am having a complete mental block. Is there a YouTube video or an FAQ somewhere I can be pointed to? I simply can't sort it out.
• Synching with the iOS App. Is there a limit to how many books will show up on the Free version of your account on iOS? I'm assuming that's why I'm not seeing my whole Library.
