I’m looking for a browser-based version or remake of Red Alert 2 that runs smoothly on macOS. Does anything like this currently exist?
If not, how feasible would it be to build a browser-based RA2 with AI?
Would appreciate any recommendations or thoughts!
I remember hearing about it somewhere but would it be possible to rip the audio and cutscenes from the original and add them to a remaster? I'd love to see a proper campaign for Yuri if they ever remaster the game.
I am currently playing "Red Alert 2: Total Destruction."
First: I want units to enter "automatic guard mode" immediately upon being mind-controlled, rather than remaining stationary.
Second: When a "Terror Drone" destroys another unit while other units are nearby, it pauses for a split second; this gives enemies a chance to attack and destroy it instantly.
Third: After attacking the enemy for a short time, units stop attacking or even defending themselves.
Therefore, I would like to boost the offensive aspect (specifically by deploying very large numbers of units) and ensure the process feels organized and natural, while retaining the option to increase the difficulty level further if desired.
Important note: I have tried hard to modify the "rules.ini" file, but to no avail!
I remember when I was a kid, finding perhaps a modded rules.ini that had added some units including:
Nimitz Aircraft Carrier
Howitzer
Some kind of helicopter unit for the Soviets (? not sure if this was a real memory or not)
Could build sandbags as a structure (same placement style as walls)
And more. It was definitely for RA2 because I remember all the Allied/Soviet units, including the vanilla ones, still had the generic lines. The Yuri faction did not exist in this mod.
Since I was a kid when I played this, this definitely would have been pre-2010. It is definitely not Mental Omega.
Does anyone else happen to remember this mod?
