Yearling Retic Social Behavior
Ive noticed recently when I let my two male yearlings out to free roam that they often end up together in the same hide, in one another's enclosure or just generally following each other around the room . Ive heard that young Ball pythons can show social behavior like this when they are young but never seen it with retics, is this normal ? Has anyone else had a similar experience ?
Morph? Is this just a normal? Owner died and they need to rehome they don’t know anything
RI or mouth rot concerns
Looking for anyone on here who’s run into a similar issue, I’ve been having a pretty consistent problem with my boy for about 2-3 months now. He has some puffy gums as shown in picture. No drooling, minimal saliva, he doesn’t wheeze, never lethargic, he eats great, and I cannot figure out what’s causing it! He was initially treated 3 months ago with a light round of antibiotics, assuming it was a minor RI. Swelling went down briefly but came back. I returned for a follow up visit 2 weeks ago and we did another check, opened his mouth, nothing crazy abnormal. He’s been on a round of antibiotic and anti inflammatory injections, and I was seeing immediate progress but I’m nearing the end of the meds and it’s seemed to spike up again. His temps, humitity, and substrate all appear perfect, I’m wondering could it be an impacted tooth? Anybody else seen this??
Cypress mulch?
I've owned reticulated pythons for over 15 yrs and always used unprinted newspaper and kept humidity up by spraying three to four times a week. I tried cyprus mulch and was just humid I lived in California. The humidity was in the 50's most of the time now living in Nevada. The room is on average 28-30% wanting to switch to cyprus mulch. Which brand do you recommend I'm familiar with Forest floor, reptibark.
Finally got some time to post pics of my babies and bigger babies
It's been a while since I last posted about my Retics, truth is I'm suffering from end stage kidney failure and have been on Hemo-Dialysis for the past 11 years, had a stroke which damaged the Basal Ganglia part of my brain and these past 7 months I've been struggling with severe low Hemoglobin levels, low bone density and serious muscle pain, weakness and discomfort.
But here they are:
Lucy (Pic 3): 50% dwarf normal het genetic stripe 50% het albino female
Luke (Pic 2): Golden Child Het Albino male
Lizzy (Pic 1): White Albino Het Genetic Stripe Citron female
Luna (Pic 4): Motley Tiger Het Albino Female
5th one will be coming home in November, not sure what the morph will be but anything from Tiger, Platinum, Sunfire or Albino.
Rehome
I need to rehome my super tiger. I cannot take care of him my life circumstances have changed. I want what's best for him and I cannot give that to him. If anyone can help me with rehoming just give me a DM thank you.
September 2023 Platinum Sunfire Female
Husband and I purchased this girl later last year. She was hatched 9/2023. In this pic, my kitchen tiles are 18" tiles, so she's about 6 feet long (a little over...she's currently in a 6x2x2 enclosure). She's got a fabulous personality - very chill and inquisitive. I'm concerned about her size, though. She's from a local pet shop, who got her from a local breeder (hence knowing her hatch date). But we don't know lineage aside from her being platinum sunfire het albino. Given that she'll be 3 in four months, and only a little over 6 feet, I'm wondering if she's stunted and shouldn't be fed a little more (either in frequency or size). She's currently getting M/L rats once a week to 10 days. I don't have any interest in power feeding her but at the same time I want her to be on a healthy schedule. I appreciate input! (She's my only python in a home with 19 other various snakes...western hogs, kings, corns, and 4 varieties of boas).
