A lot of anime characters have won huge jackpots.
But nobody did it like Onizuka.
He wasn't just trying to win a Mercedes. His reputation was on the line. He needed the money back, his students were counting on him, his school could end up in trouble and things could have gone very wrong.
Then he somehow turns the whole situation around in the most Onizuka way possible.
That's why I still love this scene. It's not really about the car.
It's about watching a complete maniac walk into a terrible situation and somehow leave with the jackpot.
Great Teacher Onizuka was built different.
Shirai Kuroko from A Certain Scientific Railgun S01 E13.
In the early 2000s, there was this short anime series. One season I think.
The MC was a boy (maybe 9 years old) who was hunting down people that killed his family. I remember it being mostly voice over of the kid talking.
Vaguely recall there being something about past lives or reincarnated. I saw it on one of the early Flash sites, I think.
The fight scenes were super graphic and Kill Bill level of blood.
Anyway, I've searched everywhere for this and have no idea where to find it. If anyone else remembers it, that would be amazing.
I don't remember much about it at all because I was 3 when I first saw it, but I have asked my parents about it and all I have is this info about it.
It was released around the 80's and 90's
it got an official DVD release (according to my dad)
the main cast wasn't large, consisting of about 5 girls and only girls
it was a horror anime and nothing about it was happy, at all and all the colours were desaturated. There was no comedy ever in it, it was all disturbing and sad.
it moved slowly, not pacing wise but in terms of how the characters themselves moved
the music was creepy and very traditional
My mum couldn't tell what it was about since it was in all Japanese and no subtitles, but it seemed to be about one of girls being destined to die
the 2 scenes I remember are one of a girl walking up a narrow hill to a tree with no leaves and when she reached the tree she stabs herself through the chest and she let's out a blood curdling scream. during that scene, it flickers between another scene of a girl wandering through the house. it seems to be a traditional Japanese house. and every corner the girl takes, the house just seems bigger.
the other scene I remember isn't very helpful but it's of 3 girls all facing each other in one room of the house.
I asked this same question on another subreddit and I can tell you right now the anime isn't; Vampire Princess Miyu, Boogiepop Phantom, Vampire Hunter D.
I can't draw the scenes I remember so I can't provide a picture, but if I saw it I'd know it. I really hope somebody can tell me the name of this anime
I watched the Cowboy Bebop movie, and it served as my introduction to the series. I haven't watched the show yet, so I viewed this purely as a standalone film. I really liked how the world felt like a perfect blend between the normal world and a futuristic one. I didn't experience any confusion while watching it, although I didn’t know the characters' backstories, I didn't have any trouble understanding their personalities. Spike was a very charming protagonist, and Vincent felt like a great villain. They felt like mirrors to each other, I didn't fully grasp it, but that seemed to be what the movie was trying to convey. The opening narration about being alone with no one to play with applied to Spike, and as we learn more about Vincent, we realize it applies to him as well. Even the butterflies that Vincent saw, Spike saw at the end too.
The villain’s motive was also quite unique, viewing the world as a purgatory from which he wanted liberation. When he met his end, I actually felt a bit sorry for him. The movie was excellent in every aspect, though I feel like if I had seen the series and known the characters better, I would have enjoyed it even more. While watching, I got a vibe similar to old Hollywood sci-fi action movies, and it definitely felt very Western inspired. Overall, the movie is great, and I had absolutely no trouble understanding the story.
Hi everyone! I'd like to introduce myself before getting into why I'm here. My name is Gess, and I'd like to share an idea, if that's okay.
I'm interested in revisiting and developing an idea that this young woman originally had about a decade ago. I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in writing it in their own style and with their own creative vision. In return, I'd be more than happy to create illustrations based on the story and the events that unfold throughout the plot.
I'm not looking for any financial compensation before, during, or after the project's development. This is simply something I've wanted to do before starting university, purely out of love for the franchise, its characters, and art itself.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
