I just ended up with Retroid Mini Classic

I bought a Pocket Mini V1 for cheap on eBay. Yes it’s the V1 and knew I’d be plagued with not being able to get a screen upgrade but I’ve never had one and it was only $90. Anyways, I got it in the mail and found out the photos he took he just set the joystick caps on top of the joystick shafts. He had them glued on and he broke them so there was part of the caps stuck superglued on the shafts. He gave me a partial refund of $30 so now it’s only a $60 device. I just ordered new joysticks ($20) with my Retroid Nova order. I was planning to replace the joysticks and resell it but I’m kind of liking it as a stickless device lol. Kind of reminds me of the Pocket Classic. Of course I wouldn’t recommend removing the sticks on one that was normally priced but since this was only $60 it’s been a fun stickless device so far while waiting for the sticks.

Handheld for Indie PC RPGs

I'm searching for a good device to play indie RPGs made for PC like Felvidek, Hylics etc. They don't have crazy system requirements, but most Windows handhelds or the Steam Deck are on the more expensive side so I was hoping there might be an alternative that is enough for those kinds of RPGs but a bit cheaper. Does anybody have experience with how to run stuff like this on Anbernic devices?

Gamenative makes me want to kms

I have been able to play one single game on it, everything else about this app has been a nightmare. I like Gamehub, but there are some games I really want to play that don't have controller support and afaik there's no way around that. Heard Game Native can map keyboard controls to your controller but this app is barely functional. Am I stupid or something or is this just unbelievably finicky and unreliable?

EDIT: I pretty much gave up, but am now using Gamehub to map the keyboard and mouse to touchscreen controls, then using the RP6's touchscreen keymapper, and setting them to 0 opacity. It works, though not perfect. Super unsatisfying mouse look movements lol.

Without the hype - Is PC emulation there yet?

Without 5 different apps, 6 hours doing settings and 7 framerate dips before the game really gets going?

Basically, whats the truth without hype or is it better to just keep waiting for that Proton layer to be implemented? Even then would this chip be decent? Not interested in super modern AAA titles, mainly older stuff like 10 years ago etc

I'm officially retiring from playing Super ROM Hunter II - Grand Tweaking Service.

Battery issue

I have the rp6 and I feel the battery drains when I am not using it, like 3-4% per hour, so I prefer to shut down completely to tackle that, anyone has a suggestion how to solve that?

Anyone buying the dual screen add-on with the Nova for widescreen games?

I’m tempted to add one to my order for the occasional widescreen hack but I’m seeing some mixed reviews. I guess I’m looking for someone to convince me not to.

The Retriod Pocket 6 (12gb/256gb)

I've owned this device now for nearly five months and I love it even more as time goes on. The game on display is Odin Sphere (PS Vita via Vita3k).

Retroid pocket 6 is a beast

Got my rp6 and love it so much. The battery life is insane even when playing Diablo 3 on Switch it's the first handheld that rivals my steam deck

Share Your Wallpapers~!

One of my favourite things about these handheld devices is the personal spin that people put on them (wallpapers/launchers/frontends). Transforming something sold and commercial into something so personal and honest is just really cool to me; that we can all have the same device, but different tastes and aesthetics that make them end up looking completely different.

I don't personally find myself to be very creative or have any good actual ideas to make my device more, like, *mine*, so I've just got a live wallpaper of Miyabi From Zenless and I think it looks quite nice (and does nothing to drain the battery!)

Floored and speechless

Hello all, just completely speechless on how this thing operates ordered on June 3rd and received on July 3.

Spent all day setting up yesterday and I love it… followed retro corps setup guide and was very detailed and helpful.

Although I did want to better setup my n64 games was not able to get em properly working in retro arch and used the standalone n64 emulator ( forgot the name)…

As for ps2 everything I have mostly works except for some bugs and problems mostly slowed down gameplay on a few games like armored core and path of neo so far… Idk I’m still very new to all this world of emulation but all yall have been so helpful i couldn’t help myself and start asking (dumb) questions lol.

Any suggestions on how I can make these games run better or any games I need to try or any suggestions at all would be great.

DadsMmoLab Windows Installer Out Now (Setup your own WotLK, TBC, Vanilla and Unbound Server)

Howdy folks! I started this project on Steam Deck because I wanted offline WoW on the go. People loved it so I made installers that builds the private server of their choosing on the Steam Deck with as close to a 1 click install as possible.

After that, lots of people asked to be able to have this type of installer on windows, easing the process of compiling their own server on windows without having to use repacks. This windows app allows you to use the same steam deck installers on your pc to get the servers up and running for offline or Lan play.

Windows Install Guide YouTube Link.

Take care yall.

upgrading storage

So currently i only have a 128gb sd card as i cant really afford a higher one but in the future if i want to upgrade, is it as simple as moving everything from one sd card to another and it’ll all work? or is there more steps to keep saves and data and all that stuff

Retroid Pocket 6 OG Xbox emulation?

I’ve read some posts and see very conflicting answers on the quality of OG Xbox emulation. Some people are saying it works fine but I tried xemu and thought it was terrible at best. I will say I tried some of the more demanding games cause quite frankly if I can’t play the good games there’s not really any point and they were all “playable” but not in a way I’d play more than a few minutes cause of all the glitches. I just don’t see how some people using the same device say it works great and others say it’s terrible. If everyone is using the same device it should work the same for everyone. I wanna know if anyone has any magic settings that make a huge difference and which emulator is the new best one.

What’s next for Retroid?

I have the Pocket 6 and it’s fantastic. I got mine orange with stick on top. I’m sure other people recommended a stick on top option but I added to that request list. I just put in an order for the new Nova as that’s another recommendation I made being a Mini replacement with a slightly larger 4:3 aspect ratio screen. I’m sure other people wanted that as well but it makes me feel like they’re listening to what people want instead of telling people what they want like Anbernic’s devices especially as of late.

My other request which I hope they make is an N64 device. They could copy the Nova and even call it the Nova64 and just remove the right stick and put in 6 buttons and boom finally a perfect n64 device that also doubles as a perfect Sega Saturn device as Anbernic flopped on their attempt making it not actually powerful enough for most saturn games and has no stick so not good for n64 either.

My next request is an updated pocket classic. Same device just add stick in the offset layout like new Trimui Brick Pro. I’d rather buy from Retroid over Trimui cause Retroid would do an oled screen. I’d be fine with the same 3.92” oled screen in the current pocket classic but an upgrade to the 4.5” screen being used on the nova would be even better. Nova Classic maybe?

My last request is just a bonus and that’s to make a pocket 6 plus. Same device just a 7” screen and more internal storage like the Odin 2 portal. I have a Odin 2 portal but would sell it if I could have a full lineup of devices from the same company.
