>Statement
>In solidarity with all my fellow Venezuelans and with my family, who are also suffering as some of our relatives are still missing, I have decided, together with the Venezuelan Gymnastics Federation, not to participate in the 2026 South American Championships or the 2026 Milan World Cup.
>Today, my heart and prayers are with every family living through this uncertainty and this pain.
>As an athlete and as a Venezuelan, I believe in the strength of our people, in our unity, and in the faith that sustains us even in the most difficult times.
>There is hope for my country.
>There is hope for our future.
>And together, we will keep moving forward.
>With love and hope

>Today I write with a broken heart.
>As a Venezuelan, as an athlete and as a human being, I am trying my best to find the words to describe the pain we are feeling. The loss of five Venezuelan gymnasts has left a void that cannot be filled. They were the dreams, families, teammates and lives that represented the future of our sport.
>Adding to this enormous pain my own family is experiencing as they continue to wait for news of loved ones that have still not been found.
>Out of respect for those who are no longer with us, those who are missing, and for all the families who are suffering today, I, along with the Venezuelan Gymnastics Federation, have decided not to participate in the South American Championships and the 2026 World Cup in Milan.
>Today is not the time to compete. Today is the time to embrace each other as a nation, support those who are grieving, and keep hope alive for those we still hope to find.
>To the entire Venezuelan gymnastics community: this pain is ours too. We will honor the memory of our gymnasts with unity, solidarity, and the desire to move forward when the time comes.
>May God accept the departed, strengthen their families and protect each and every person still waiting.
>Venezuela will be reborn. Because even in the darkest moments, hope never dies.
