Moved to a new area last year and realised how hard it is to find people to ride with when you don't know anyone local. Existing Facebook groups felt…odd and I never found anyone with a similar pace or experience level.

Ended up building an app to scratch my own itch, it matches you with riders based on pace, experience, budget, that kind of thing, so you're not turning up to a group ride and immediately holding everyone up (or getting left behind).

There's also a "Ready to Ride" feature that lets you flag you're heading out, anyone else local with it on gets notified so you can link up spontaneously.

It's free, iOS and Android. Happy to drop the link in the comments if anyone's interested, mainly just want to know if this is actually a problem other people have or if I'm in the minority.

Listen I can't do this anymore. Slowly it's been getting worse and worse I don't need to explain I'm sure you guys know. I was getting profitable trips here and there which was okay. Today July 5th there are thousands of people coming into the airport. The traffic on the highway is jammed. Summerfest is going on there are so many things going on on a Sunday here on 4th of July weekend. Uber refused to offer me a trip that got me over $18 an hour. Anyhow it took me 2 hours to get a profitable trip I made $15 and then I started heading home as I was going home which was about a half an hour drive I couldn't find any more trips and I'm telling you I'm in downtown Milwaukee. They were offering me trips that were like 15 minutes for $3 stuff like that. It's never been this bad. Once again they're asking us to pay our own money to drive for them. There's no way I could actually make money and you all know that is the case. As soon as inflation rises and cost rises instead of making things better for the drivers they are trying to give the riders discounts off of our backs. I would like to organize a strike in Milwaukee. Once again this is simple math. We can all take a day off to make a point. But they can't afford to lose us for one day. This is my first posting about it but I'm going to be pursuing this and figuring out how I can get as many people involved as possible so please spread the word.

I would like to set a date for a month from now. Possibly a Friday or a Saturday evening where they really need drivers.

I'm proposing that we do this on August 1st. And do a blackout from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Please pass along this information. It's not going to get better till we do something that's the game they play.

Demands would be that they start paying the driver by figuring cost of operating the vehicle plus profit. There should be a threshold that they do not go under. They should never be asking people to drive to break even let alone drive and spend their own money to give people rides. I think that's really what we should focus on is just being paid fairly bottom line.

Please share please repost please share on your own social media with maybe your own story but make sure we have the date time the same. That's the most important part August 1st 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

I'm a single guy, 56, who is needing cataract surgery this year. I do not have anyone who can take me or wait for the procedure to be over in Round Rock, Texas and Georgetown, Texas.

Are there any services that do not charge to assist? I'd be willing to make a donation. I have searched the web but did not find anything.

I recently moved from Downtown Dubai to Al Nahda, Sharjah, but I still work at Downtown, near Souk Al Bahar. Right now I’m doing the daily commute via the coaster bus carlift, and honestly it’s not working for me — too slow, uncomfortable, inconvenient timing, you know the drill.

I’m looking for someone doing the same route (Al Nahda Sharjah ⇄ Downtown Dubai) who drives and wouldn’t mind a carpool partner. My work hours are flexible, so I can adjust my timing to match yours — whatever works best for you. I’ll happily contribute monthly toward fuel/expenses, and I’m also fine taking turns driving since I’ve held a UAE license for years and have a clean record.
I do have a car, but I keep it at work and prefer not to drive it through Sharjah traffic daily — that’s really the only reason I’m not just driving myself.
