More Fantastic Classic Ridge Racer Artwork

Here's another great illustration that absolutely deserves more attention.

It's found on the back of the cover booklet for the Namco Game Sound Express VOL.11 CD.

Seeing the iconic track from this isometric perspective really makes you appreciate the sheer brilliance in its design. It seems so minimal at first glance, but you can see just how carefully considered all the twist and turns are, with the striking vistas after every bend allowing players to quickly familiarize themselves and instinctively anticipate each upcoming hurdle.

Here's a link to the album for anyone interested in the rest of the packaging, as well as high quality FLAC and MP3 downloads of the best damn racing soundtrack of all time.

R4 painting by me

Hey!! I recently created and exhibited this artwork in Austria. I used silk screen printing and acrylics for this 2 x 2 meter painting. If you want to see more art from me, check out my IG (hulioooooo)

Desperate for a higher resolution version of this beautiful key art!

This gorgeous illustration so perfectly captures that relentlessly positive and sunny vibe of the original, and I have spent ages searching for a quality copy. Alas, this is the largest I've been able to find. I'd do almost anything to get a large print of it to frame, as it elicits such a specific nostalgia that I just can't get enough of. I've even resorted to trying AI upscaling and, unsurprisingly, the results are always abysmal, as it always completely smooths out all the charming airbrushed textures and has no idea what to do with the text on the side of the cars.

Would very much appreciate any information about where exactly it was originally printed. And if it's a lost cause, would love to see any other Ridge Racer key art that you know of that could satiate my appetite for this uniquely 90s aesthetic.

Finally own it!

Ridge Racer for Playstation! My first entry in the series was R4 so that set a baseline for me when it came to the others. Currently playing Ridge Racer 64, and its been fun yet sometimes frustrating. But I tried this once I got home only to be humbled some more. Out of all of the ones I've played (R4, 64, V, 6 and 7) this has been the hardest one to learn how to drift. I don't understand because there is usually a curve for getting the drift down but this has been impossible. I want to beat it but feels impossible and online video only confused me more. 😭

R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 | Brightest Nite | Resolution Upscaled HD

Ridge Racer Type 4 was such an amazing game. The style, the music, the vibe of it all. So why did the 5th game suck so bad? Also, any pointers on the final stage of R4 to win? It seems that drifting isn't enough to get first place?

Are there any good written/video guides to help someone get better at these games? (RR Vita)

I've been really loving diving into RR Vita lately but man am I struggling. I'm watching ghosts/replays of people doing races like the Crinale/Archangel and how they've constantly maintaining higher speeds, getting more nitrous from drifts even with the same upgrades and not losing as much speed on certain turns as I do. Hell, when I myself play I will play Lap Trial and have laps where turns I normally lose some speed on I take with incredible grace/precision or I'll sometimes earn double the nitrous for a blue flame drift than I normally would whilst feeling like I approached the turn in the same way.

It just feels like there is a lot of nuance that I am maybe not fully grasping when it comes to how/when to drift in that specific turn (brake drift without gas, just drift by tapping the gas etc) or how to maximize blue flame nitrous earnings (do you want nitrous to end as you're already drifting or right before). Hell, I'm not even 100% sure if the car choice matters. I've noticed the speedometer in certain cars changes (such as RPM) and idk if thats indicative of the cars having different stats that I'm just unaware of or if it is purely cosmetic.

Loving this game, really want to get RR6 and RR7 and revisit Type 4 to really get back into the series in a big way, but I also feel unable to realize what top replays are doing that I'm not when it comes to those micro-optimizations.

Just like clockwork.

We've been playing this same game for almost a decade by now. Pls have realistic expectations.

Tomorrow is State of Play, and they usually announce new games for the PS Classic. I wish they would reveal Rage Race this time, as they did with RR last year. Then we would have RR4, RR1 and Rage Racer on PS4/PS5!

Part 18 of my livery Project. The three type-z class 6 cars from Ridge Racers 2 psp

Good Evening Everyone

Its been longer than anticipated but I've finally got my last liveries out for my Ridge Racer Livery project. this will mark the last of the liveries I make in FH5. Here are the share codes

Starluster Assoluto Fatalita for the Lambo Gallardo - 549 816 859

Galaxian Himmel EO for the Porsche 911 GT2 96 - 438 541 436

Druaga Soldat Raggio for the Ferrari Enzo - 162 942 174

And now for some chats about my plans for FH6

Firstly, apologies for this being a week late. Lots of things came together to delay this part.

Secondly, I've decided that i want to be a bit more involved with the FH community, this has honestly been a fun thing to do, making liveries from a franchise i love so much, and i honestly don't think I've done a terribly bad job for my first project.

But the main thing i wanted to talk about, is my plans to become more of a livery maker and have a bit more interaction with you guys. see, part of this project was also brining some love and attention to car/livery combos that often get forgotten and overshadowed. I bet amongst anyone who played RR2 PSP it is likely you forgot at least one livery from this 54 livery project. And i want to do this for other cars from other franchises. So if you ever want to, let me know of any underappreciated car(s) you'd like me to make in the future. Ill make a list of these going into FH6 which i will make alongside ridge racer liveries (As that will still be my no1 main thing for the near future). But this is something i want to do in the next few months, for now, I need to take a break from livery making and avoid any burnout i have incurred from going onto FH5 near daily to either make these liveries or race them in game, whilst also preparing myself for making liveries in FH6.

Speaking of FH5, i have one more update planned to some of my older liveries before i totally say goodbye. But this will be in the coming weeks and i wont make a post about it. so for anyone playing FH5 that might want to use these you'll need to keep checking my Ridge Racer Livery Library for when the share codes update

And with that lengthy talk. I'll wrap this up. I will now be spending the next few months enjoying FH6 and setting up for my future Liveries. I hope you all enjoy these livers. and I'll see you all when i make it to FH6.

Ridge racer car textures

Hi,

I am completely ignorant about such things, so sorry in advance, but is it possible to "extract" textures on the cars from ARCADE first Ridge Racer?

I would like to check decals on them as they are different than in playstation version.
