The sound of it is the entire "issue". Not the lyrics, emotion, or message. Each song on its own hits fucking hard, but by the time "Nod" is over the heavy handed vocal processing gets old.
When you listen to it on its own top to bottom the emotion (not the message) of "Soldier" doesnt hit right and by the end it sucks. The message and IMPACT I adore Rise Against for gets lost in the disapointing emotional feel of the album as a whole.
BUT if you mix these songs on shuffle with hours and hours of other heavy punk songs with loads of heart and emotion they stand out. The sound is different the energy is different. The Lyrics finally fucking hit right. Its like hearing a new rise against song for the first time again.
This album sucks because its too dense. When I put on an entire RA album its cause I'm overwhelmed by the state of my country or the content of my local news and I need to feel less alone and hopeful.
This album can't do that and THATS why it sucks. The messages, lyrics, and emotion DO hit fucking hard, just not all at once.
If your like me, Rise Against can do almost no wrong. That being said, what’s the one or two songs that is an automatic skip for you?
Howdy folks! I was just curious why people often tend to not favor Endgame as much as other albums. Me personally, I rank Endgame as my number 1 album by RA. Between songs like Disparity by Design, Satellite, Survivor Guilt, and others, there is no shortage of songs that are fast, loud, and packed full of meaning full lyrics.
It might not have songs with lyrics like, "All because of you, I believe in angels..." or "how we survive is what makes us who we are", but there are still powerful lyrics. "Perhaps the man in the gutter is not so different from you", "We'll sneak out while they sleep and sail off in the night...", "The wind died, the whole world ceased to move...", "A lost dream of what could have been, a house on fire, a tangled web...", and on and on. And THOSE are *just* the lyrics, not even the MUSIC itself.
The guitar melody that plays in the first bridge of DbD, the way the music quiets down in Satellite to talk about a desire for a new life, then repeats the sentiment louder, as if to say "that is what I want...No, that is what I NEED."
I know that's all *personal preference", and I'm not going to talk shit about someone who favors one album over the other; we all have had life experiences and beliefs formed that make us cling to one album over another. So I'm just curious, what makes YOU not favor Endgame as much as other albums?
Nice little eBay find to cover in some CD Gaps, few signed and the two frames signed in with it.
Good find!
Raedy to fall to replace my current copy as the sleeve is damaged, and added the RA/AF Promo 7' that I have been after for a while at a good price.
Happy Post Day Today.

Best news I've heard this year, this is gonna be epic!
Matt Skiba has confirmed that Alkaline Trio are recording a cover of Rise Against’s “Re-Education (Through Labor)” for the band’s upcoming split 7”! Rise Against are also set to cover Alkaline Trio’s “Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs” for the release.
Skiba shared the update on Instagram following rehearsals, calling the chance to record the track “an honour” ahead of the bands upcoming US tour.
Anybody have any experiences with the European rise against shop? I think it is shipped from Germany... How long should I expect it to take? It's being sent to Denmark
looks like Alkaline Trio is doing Re-Education, super curious to see what Rise covers!
came across these photos on Getty images and I’ve wondered if footage from this interview and performance existed online but I couldn’t find any :(
would love to see it if it did!
