I love Tim's delivery of this line, especially in the final chorus. He also sounds great on Living Undercover. Amazing how revitalizing a proper mixing can be to their overall sound
My first time seeing the band live, I only a knew a couple of songs beforehand and I expected them to be great, but WOW. Huge fan after that
Here's a pic of Tim from where I was standing. ...
Going to be covering up an repainting these but wanted to share
20 YEARS LATER! FIRST TIME ON VINYL! NAKED RAYGUN "LIVE AT RIOT FEST"
It’s been two decades since Naked Raygun took the stage for their legendary 2006 reunion set, and now—for the first time ever—"Live at Riot Fest" is finally coming to vinyl.
"Naked Raygun, the most beloved Chicago punk band of all time, left a void that couldn’t be filled when they broke up in 1992. It took a fledgling music festival led by an incredibly passionate music fan to make an entire punk scene’s biggest dream come true by getting the band back together to headline Riot Fest in 2006. This was the single most important band reunion in the history of the Chicago music scene, and it was a once in a lifetime magical event that people still talk about 20 years later. Finally we have a document to relive that evening and prove that it wasn’t just a new dream, they made it real, and it kickstarted a second run for the band that lasted nearly two more decades". - Mike MXV Vinikour (Punkvinyl.com)

I really like the both of them (still don't favour either), and I was very much so pleasantly surprised when listening to the both of them for a first; they're far better than basically everything in Ricochet and potentially in my top 20-15, if not very close to my top 10. However, maybe that's recency bias, but I'm glad to see that, even if that's so, Rise Against can still make good music. I'm hoping we get another album on this level of quality, even if it takes a long time.
I'm a bit disappointed that the two songs don't seem appreciated in wider music space, though, whilst the same pop-slop songs singing of transient, meaningless things like sex, money, drugs, etc. permeates the charts (which I really don't understand... even to live through such music vicariously is bizarre to me). On that note, it's also disappointing that, a decade+ later for some of their songs, nothing has changed, like for Re-Education (Through Labor) and Ready To Fall.
Grandma took me to a record store for my birthday and I found the black market!
These are 3 records I never thought I’d have on color.
Thank you Rise, for another great show yesterday at Cardiff castle supporting Jimmy Eat World.
Anyone else go to this last night? I thought the sound was ok, drums a little overpowering but generally a great show!
The megaphone came out again, I’m not sure this works still, it’s hard to hear for me.
Set list was:
Re-education (through labour)
Satellite
Give it all
Ready to fall
Swing life away
Prayer of the refugee
The good left undone
Saviour
(I think)

“Katy Bar the Door” was inspired by the ongoing ICE raids through America, tearing families apart. Vocalist Tim McIlrath said about the track, “This is not the first time in history we have reckoned with abuses of power. Bearing witness to the fragility of democracy is a scary thing, and it demands a response.”
“Living Undercover,” meanwhile, is a more introspective piece, focused on the experience of having something to hide, whether out of shame or fear. McIlrath said, “Sometimes it’s because we’re building something beautiful behind the curtain, other times we’re hiding some kind of darkness. I like the cloak and dagger feel of the song that ties into its central theme.”
The new songs are fitting for the times we are in (US)
Rise against has always been a siren for the counter culture and I think they know if there’s a time to write their style of music, more of it; it’s now.
Very excited.
Hey everyone
I (20F) am going to see Rise Against (and Jimmy Eat World) in Cardiff on Saturday
This is all very exciting to me as they have been my favourite band for years, however I’ve never been to any concert or music event before, nor have I been to Cardiff. I am doing this solo, which is already terrifying enough as it is, but I also have no idea what to expect. Does anyone have any advice or just general notes of what to expect? Any comment at all would be useful - thank you!
Also, if you’re attending this venue then feel free to accompany me! It would make this whole thing feel a little less scary/lonely
Hey! Found it interesting that the pitch behind these 2 songs at the very top of their homepage is not necessarily a new EP, just “2 new songs recorded at The Blasting Room, our home away from home.”
I feel like these are songs they created in response to the backlash from Ricochet, and this line is speaking directly to long term fans which their latest album largely alienated.
Whether these are a standalone or a subset of a larger album is yet to be seen, but I’m optimistic. Even a rerelease of Ricochet with songs remastered would be a welcome addition to their discography.
Can’t wait to see what comes next…
Last night was so damn good, RA absolutely smashed it as always and for a short support set it didn’t disappoint 🔥
Both of the new songs are amazing, I love the new sound especially in comparison to ricochet. I can’t imagine they’re ricochet b sides based on the distinct lack of megaphone so hopefully it’s a new album soon?
Personally, I think 'Living Undercover' from Rise Against's recent single sounds similar to the Endgame album. Which album's style do you think 'Katy Bar the Door' resembles?
Hello - Crystal Palace bowl, got a spare ticket; anyone want it? Wouldn’t mind a contribution to beer fund but would rather it go to a fan than go to waste! GA general standing, Ticketmaster. Lemme know.
