How can I purchased a Carmen Codesa V in Europe?

Almost ready to pull the trigger.

I’m very close to buying one, but I’m worried about how difficult it would be to get it from Australia to Greece.

How did you buy yours?

Also, what happens if something breaks?

Do you think Japanese ARS are a safer choice?

Maybe I should stay with European models instead?

Looking to upgrade cartridge: Ontofon 2M Black vs. Rega ND7 vs. ND5 vs. Moving Cartridge

I’ve had a Rega Elys 2 Cartridge on my Rega Planar 3 for about 10 years now. I’ve never really liked the sound of it. It can really shine on good pressings (80’s records, audiophile stuff) but it can deliver quite a subpar experience with newer records (I understand that’s got more to do with the record itself, newer records don’t tend to sound as good imho).

I’ve also always felt like there’s something preventing that cartridge from sound really great. It almost feels a bit muffled to me. I mean, it sounds alright, but I feel like it could do better than that. Fast forward to 2026 and I wanted to seek the opinions of humans rather than AI, as I feel like I can’t trust a machine to give me recommendations on this. I’m looking for good sound clarity, precision, warmth and detailed sound. Almost at audiophile realm but without having to spend tens of thousands on my setup lol.

Right now I’m torn between Ortofon 2MR Black or Rega ND7/ND5. The thing is, there are no showrooms near me and I can’t test either of those so I’d like to know your opinion before I upgrade my stylus. I most listen to electronic/alternative/pop and my collection is roughly 60% new pressings and 40% older pressings. Part of me also wonders if I should just make the jump to Moving Cartridge, even though that would represent a significant upgrade. Too many questions I know, I apologise in advance for all this lol.

So what do you guys think? I really appreciate any help or feedback you might have!

My setup:

Rega Planar 3,
Rega Neo PSU MK2,
Rega Fono MM MK5,
Yamaha RX-V61 a/v receiver,
Bowers & Wilkins floorstanding speakers

rotaries with particularly good low-end control?

im weighing the possibility of going for a nice rotary mixer. my problem with most DJ gear is that traditional tonal controls are pretty “touchy” i want something with plenty of travel and smoothness that I can really flow with physically. hopefully a knob that both shelves AND rolls off some low-end content gradually. anything like that exist?

Humming Iso420

hey
I need some help in the video i’m demonstrating my issue
first channel is used with the turntable
second one nothing is plugged into

significant humming in the lower end
nothing seems to really fix it

guess the usual ‘noise’ is normal

using a power amp with no additional volume setting
so i play around 9-10 o clock with the master knob just for orientation - is pretty loud

any help appreciated

cheers

Recording mixes with external EQ/isolation chain — best practice?

Trying to dial in the best way to record my mixes and curious how others are handling this with external mastering chains.

Current setup is an ARS 4100 with an ARS 5000 EQ and ARS 3500 isolator patched through the master send/return loop:

4100 Master Send Out → 5000 EQ → 3500 Isolator → VU Meter → Master Send In

What I discovered is that the Rec Out/Tape Out seems to be pre-master/pre-insert, so my recordings aren’t capturing the EQ/isolation processing.

For those of you running rotary mixers with external EQs/isolators, where are you recording from to capture the “final” sound of the mix? Booth out? Main out with attenuation? Dedicated recorder output? Curious what’s considered best practice in real-world setups.

Best DJ Isolator Unit?

Whats the best DJ Isolator Unit?
Currently I’m looking at the teile3 b& and the bozure 202.
How do they compare sound wise? Or is there a better isolator unit?

Omnitronic trm 202 Dead Channel Issue, where to from here?

Hi guys:

So I was stupid and impulsive and bought an omnitronic trm 202 on the second hand market last month. Great mixer, sound etc but..last week: output to my left hand speaker from chanel 1/chanel 2 phono became very quiet/non existent.

Swapped turntables and the issue is in those channels in particular. Turntable is solid, speakers work fine in other set ups.

Question:

Is this fixable? Either asking a tech to fix or learning to fix myself are my two options. Omnitronics customer support didnt even reply to my email lol..

If i do just buy a replacement: what is comparable at the 200- 300 price point?

I really liked how the omnitronix 202 set its eqs and i loved having master isolaters to play with...plus to my virgin ears the sound was so good :(

Any suggetions?

Thanks
