Xiaomi Mi Router 4C can't connect to the Internet. I have both of them in English and Chinese. All of a sudden, both of them can't connect to the internet. Both of them have different ISPs. So I tried troubleshooting and doing what others recommended, even some I read here. But the problem is still the same. Is there an outage with the services on these products or something happening currently? Can anyone help with how to fix this? I've tried resetting; still the same.

Router advice!

Hello! I am a noob so bear with me. I have to pick a wifi provider and I’m between alta fiber and spectrum if anyone has any pros/cons. ANYWAY real reason is that I would have to pay extra money to “rent” the router. My question is can I not just buy one separate and if I could, what makes a good router? OR could I not run PFsense on my old pc and just have that be my router? I thought maybe you would need 2 NIC cards to make that work, but i am not sure. Let me know if anyone has any advice!

Lag from Wifi router on the other side of the house

How does one solve lag related to my wifi router being on the entire other side of the house? Running an Ethernet through my entire house is not an option. Tried a wifi extender but ran into same lag issues.

Lag is absolutely miserable since I play rocket league and any bit of latency makes playing at a high level nearly impossible. Any help is greatly appreciated

Currently playing on my phone hotspot so not doing great

Router recommendations

After a previous post, I have decided to replace my Orbi system with a new router and at least two access points wired with Cat6. My current system no longer offers updates because of its age and I’m getting a bunch of lagging and dead spots.

What are your suggestions? I have Xfinity internet service, three smart tvs, three phones, three tablets, and whatever the future holds. I know some people love Ubiquiti, others consider it hot garbage. My budget is $500+

Either way, I don’t want to have to get an IT degree to watch Netflix while I scroll through Reddit, so simple is better. Like I said, I want to hard wire the access points.

Please help

Hi all!
I've just bought two brand new deco x55 (AX3000), the decos are to be connected via utp to the the service provider modem. (ARRIS)
The utp is working, I checked it with a laptop.
The deco flashes blue, its ON, i can connect to it's "wifi" which has not been set up so far, but the QR code won't work in the tp link app it says "invalid code", and trying the manual set up does not work either because the tp link app won't find it.
Tried restarting the modem, then x55, or just the x55.
I tried connecting with the tp link app with phone and tablet too, same problems, the app does not see the device, but the laptop does.
Oh and the deco x55 can only be set up via the tp link app, not from browser...
I have no idea what else I can do.

Please help with writing what specific should I do. Thanks! BR, Anti

problem with the Archer TX20U plus

Hi, have had the Archer Tx20U plus for quite some time now. Everytime i play online i get a big lag spike, maybe once every 30 minutes or so. Have played on many different internet connections (many of them very good), and its always the same. Have tried updating the software, re-installing it, and nothing fixes it. Any solutions?

Best modem/router to buy

What is the best modem/ router to buy that is reasonably priced that can do 1 gig Windstream Kinetic fiber? We had it just launch in our neighborhood but I don't want to "rent" a modem/ router so to save me cost I would like to just buy a router outright. Please help. Thanks

Suggestions for the best router/modem combo on a budget ($100).

I work from home and my router/modem combo I have with Xfinity is very old and outdated. I can get an upgraded one for free thru Xfinity but unfortunately the apartment complex I live in has a deal with them or something and I would need to have them do this for me. They are a nightmare to deal with and I’d rather just buy one on my own.

I am looking for something that is $100 or less(if that even exists). I do not do gaming or need anything that is super duper fast, but I do work from home and stream tv on YouTube TV every day.

I am absolutely clueless on this and would appreciate suggestions. I am not against purchasing refurbished as well.

Where can I find old/scrapped networking hardware (like a TP-Link Archer C7) for a research project?

I’m currently working on an academic research project involving Wi-Fi Sensing / CSI (Channel State Information) extraction. For this, I specifically need a router that has stable OpenWrt support and an Atheros chipset — the TP-Link Archer C7 is the perfect fit. Thanks in advance!

Ping goes down when Network Activity goes up.

Hello! I recently noticed that when I uploaded a video online, my network usage went up on my pc and therefore my ping in games went down, along with my jitter to the servers. This effect is 100 percent true as i ran a command to upload a specific amount of data to a server per second and for the time that the command was running, the ping went down and jitter too. I realized that the reason for all this is because my router somehow prioritizes my PC more when its network usage is higher or something like I'm writing this so that someone could maybe tell me how I could receive this prioritization without needing a high network usage. I currently have my Pc connected with ethernet to my Rogers modem, and I also have an eero 6+ gateway here too. I already tried connecting via the eero and then turning on sQm but it did not work. This is my modem down below:

If anyone could help me I would appreciate it!

P.S. Claude ai on maximum effort mode did not help very much, so don't beat yourself up if you can't find the solution either.

Connected to Wifi, but not connected to internet

My PC is connected to wifi but not connected to internet. This problem happened when my PC slept after inactivity(New desktop btw fresh boot).

Tried Network reset, reinstall windows, resetting my router. Nothing works. I also browsed this sub for answer and nothing works.

However, when I use my phone to hotspot the PC using same internet from router, it somehow works. Any solution to this?

Thanks

Suddenly can’t connect to my WiFi

I just came back from. A night out and now my iPhone doesn’t connect to my home WiFi for some reason it’s just stuck on the enter password screen.

I tried forgetting network, restarting iPhone, resetting network settings, fixing date and time, deleting vpn. But still no connection.

My iPad is connected perfectly with no issues and I can use my personal data normally.

I can’t find a solution anywhere. Please help

What is the type of internet routers that seem to be the router and nothing else (body text for more)

I used to have this home internet thing from T-Mobile and have recently moved out on my own and I think it would work well for just myself

It was just a box that plugged into the wall

ARRIS W30s

(my tech skills are minimal at best)

I grabbed a few W 30 mesh node I guess. Can I make one of them a router? Are there other surfboard models that are compatible so that I can gradually upgrade or do I have to slam the whole system? I appreciate any input that anybody would have for me.

right now, I have coax coming into my modem. Modem is wired to a Wi-Fi 6 router (Spectrum rental) (SAX1V1S) first W 30 is wired to the router. The other 2W 30s are wirelessly connected. I’m pretty rural and I want wifi in the house the shop the barn.

i have tried taking the rented router out of the system by hard wiring from the modem to the first node, but I get disconnected, even if I let it think about it for 10 min or so…

Netgear end of service

Hey all,

I received a notification that my Netgear router (which is supporting my home's mesh network) is nearing its end of service.

I'm looking for advice on whether it's wise to continue using the existing hardware (with Netgear Armor), or if it's best to upgrade to a new router (and consequently replace my existing mesh satellites with new ones).

When setting up my mesh network last year, it didn't occur to me that support for these products would expire and that I'd be pressured into upgrading every couple years.

Admittedly naive of me, I guess.

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks

Looking for a Wi-Fi 6 router with good wall penetration ($100–120 budget)

I'm looking to replace my current router and could use some recommendations.

My budget is around $100–120, and my ISP speed is 100 Mbps.

The router will be in one room, and my bedroom is separated by two concrete/brick walls, so having a stable signal through those walls is more important than getting the highest possible speed.

I was considering Wi-Fi 7 at first, but it doesn't seem like there are many good options within my budget, so I've decided to go with Wi-Fi 6 instead.

If you've had a similar apartment layout, which router worked well for you?
