Port Fwd on Belkin Router

Belkin N300

Setting up Port Forwards so my security cam monitor software at home can access the cams at my business.

This is the precise setup as on the present router, an ancient M$ MN-700. I don't really need high speed so the obsolete router hasn't bothered me but in case I ever do, with the Belkin now surplus I figured I'd use it to replace the MN-700. Not that the Belkin is that great but certainly faster than the present router.

I'm trying to get it pre set up so I'll I need to do is plug it in and swap cables.

What am I doing that Belkin doesn't like?

How to make PS5 Gaming WiFi better. I have to move my setup away from living room to bedroom

My router is in the living room but I play my game in the bed room.

My game works best when plugged into the router directly like a wired connection.

I do not have a coaxial or Ethernet wall jack in my room so I cannot move the router in my room.

My room is on the same floor as the living room but a ways a way from the router

Any advice?

WiFi Set-Up and Extension?

Hi all,

We recently bought a house which has an estimated internal floor space of 2,381 Sq Ft with a garden length estimated to be circa 140 feet long.

We presently have a fibre optic connection, and a BT WiFi box set-up in the sitting room. These are shown as blue and cyan dots respectively on the uploaded floorplan.

In addition, we also have three OpenReach telephone line connections within the Sitting Room, Study/Bedroom 5 and on the upper level, Bedroom 3. These are shown as red dots on the floorplan. I believe these are all working, despite the one in Bedroom 3 likely being 25+ years old.

We'd like to try and extend our WiFi signal so that it covers all of the house. At present, it only goes so far as the kitchen and a part of bedrooms 2 and 3. We'd also like to try and extend this further if possible, so that we can at least get some sort of workable signal within 75ft of the back garden, so that we can work in the garden during the summer without any interference with our signal.

I have read around, and can see a lot of people are heavily against using WiFi extenders (due to bandwith issues) and the preference would be to either set up ethernet ports or have a mesh system.

Given the location of the telephone ports, would it make sense to try and run a WiFi router through each of these, if I can get them working from the same system? Or are there much more cost-effective and generally better ways to achieve what we're trying to (if that's even possible)? As a last resort, we'd be happy if we could get a strong signal in the Play Room, if nothing else (as we'll be using that as an additional study!).

Many thanks in advance for any help that you can give!

Why is my Wi-Fi doing this?

Hey everyone, I’ve been having this consistent problem with my home router where it’s connected fine, however at random intervals it will kick all of the devices on the network off but it will still show up as being able to be connected to but when i click it, the password screen comes up and I put in the right password but it just leaves me on the password screen. (this also happens if I put in an incorrect password). I have a video to show to make it easier to understand but I can’t send videos on here for some reason. One thing of note is that this started happening after I set up a TP-Link repeater in my house.

Problemi connessione ethernet

How to fix WiFi?

Short story but I’ve moved house and the internet provider I was using was at the old house was absolutely amazing. Since I moved I also upgraded and when I say it’s barely usable is an understatement. We moved around December time and it’s genuinely the worst thing ever and I’ve gone through multiple providers who were horrendous. I have videos (probably totalling about 10 minutes at least of loads of proof) and photos showing just how bad it is and they keep trying to waste time, telling me to reset the box or whatever. I know non of this works through experience.

What step can I take? I was looking at getting one of them wireless routers to put in my room and then wire up from that box but don’t know what the best ones are.

Any advice?

Extend wifi

My parents have a home and small business on the same property. They are maybe 100 feet apart from each other. I'm trying to install wifi camera's at the business but they need access to the wifi at their home. Is there any solution for me? Can I get a wifi extender? They barely use the internet as it is but I need these camera's installed for their security. It's two small cameras if that makes a difference.

Help] Old TP-Link TL-WR740N constantly drops internet since switching to Fiber (requires reboot)

Hey everyone,
I am having a frustrating issue with my old TP-Link TL-WR740N router (from around 2017) and could really use some advice.

My Setup:
I have an ISP-provided fiber modem (ONU/ONT) connected to my TP-Link router. The modem does not have its own Wi-Fi.

Both the modem and the router are plugged into the same spikeguard/surge protector for power.

The Issue:

For the first 4–5 years, this router worked flawlessly on my old connection. However, a couple of years ago, my ISP upgraded me to a fiber optic cable. Since then, I’ve been experiencing frequent disconnections across all devices (phones, laptops, etc.).

Symptoms: All devices remain connected to the Wi-Fi signal, but it suddenly shows "No Internet."
Router lights: The lights remain normal (no orange/red error lights).

Specific device issue: Older OnePlus devices drop the Wi-Fi entirely and refuse to reconnect until the router is restarted.

Temporary fix: I have to power-cycle the TP-Link router (turn the switch off and on after 5–10 seconds) to get the internet back.

What I want to know:

Is this 2017 router simply too old to handle the high data throughput/packet load of modern fiber, causing its memory/CPU to crash and freeze?

Could the spikeguard be causing slight voltage drops that freeze the router when it is under load, even though the lights stay on?

Are there any specific settings (like DHCP lease time, changing DNS, or adjusting channel width) I should tweak before throwing it away?

Any troubleshooting steps or explanations would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

WiFi interference with gaming

Hello, a year ago I was with BT as my provider, (I live in England). I was with them for a couple of years and everything was okay - I had the BT router connected to my plug socket wall via a plug and that was that. I then had to switch to BRSK in June 2025, they supplied me with a router which is in my wall and then a WiFi extender by TP-link; these are all connected to each other which then goes into the plug socket. Furthermore, I’m a gamer I play val competitively and haven’t been able to play properly because my mouse has become floaty due to some weird interference with the WiFI. I use an Ethernet - I’ve tried getting rid of the extender and just using the standalone router in the wall and there’s still some high latency causing my mouse to overflick and become steady. I have no idea what is causing this issue and would really like some advice so I can fix this once and for all.

Thanks for reading 🙏

Bad WiFi causing floatyness in gaming?

Hi, everyone, I just made a thread about 15 mins ago wanting advice for dirty power cashing issues. In that thread many users suggested that it wasn’t dirty power causing the issue and was WiFi so if anyone could give some WiFi advice I would appreciate it.

Dirty power OR WiFi related issues. (gaming)

Hello, short and sweet; can anyone give advice on how to fix dirty WiFi without getting a new provider.

It’s affecting my competitive gaming and is causing floatyness, input lag, etc.

Thanks!

Both routers have same login IP and can’t login into extender

I have 2 routers, one is called let’s say “home network 1” and other one is called as the default setting. I wish to login into the 2nd router to change the name and just make it as the extender of the “home network 1”.

I tried to connect the laptop into the 2nd router while connected to wifi but entering the ip address of the router, just logs me in the router 1 and not 2. Is there a way to fix this? And how to make it as extender, I hate having to login to 2 different networks as I walk around the house.

Thanks
