As i'm writing this post it's currently 03:51 in the morning and i feel very very empty. I spent most of the day playing rust and the excuse is that i broke 4 bones around my shoulder and i can't go to work or move actively (i'm 18), and now after i've got over 30k sulfur and one of the biggest bases in rust i've hit my goal somewhat but i genuinely cannot keep going with this, it has happened to me twice before i fell into a deep rabbit hole and i genuinely got so depressed i couldn't even wake up to brush my teeth. As i'm writing this sentence it's 03:55 already and i'm thinking even more about just quitting this game but it's a hate love relationship, i like the game but i fucking hate who it makes me. Please don't start playing this game and taking it seriously, ofcourse you can try but don't go further.

• I have a rtx 3080 12gb vram, 32gb ddr4, ryzen 9 5900x
• I'm on custom settings but tailored to medium - low.
• I used to get over 100 frames like 2 years ago, ive reinstalled earlier this month and barley keep a steady 50. My GPU sits at 38% and my CPU sits around 40% or so.

I've tried several fixes like launch options, going into windows -> settings and graphics and prioritizing 3080 for rust. Tried setting rust to high priority in task manager but "Access was denied" apparently could be cuz of EAC. So then I created an entry in the windows registry editor to prioritize High priority and still no change. Most fixes were suggested by good ol gpt and gemini but to no avail.

Also made me download GPU Z and give them certain readings. YES my monitor is plugged into my GPU. YES i dont have rust limited to a frame limit. NO i dont have vsync on.

I've been hacking away on my own game engine for a while. Decided to benchmark it today, and the results were better than I expected. The engine is sitting around 8.1–8.9 ms per frame in the steady-state tests, which comes out to roughly 110–122 FPS. That's while keeping frame times pretty stable.

Right now it's simulating 1 million particles with 4 XPBD iterations. The physics pass itself finishes in about 4.8–5.0 ms on the GPU, so there is still some room left in the frame.

The initial upload moves around 68 MB of particle data into VRAM. That takes about 91 ms over PCIe. Since it's only a startup cost, I'm not too worried about it.

One thing I kept an eye on was the telemetry. It never reported the frame going over budget. The [PERF_OK] Frame within budget message stayed consistent for the whole run, and I didn't see any frame-time spikes.

Still a lot of things I want to optimize, but I'm pretty happy with where it's at right now.

With the new power grid update I have a feeling twig is gonna make a video saying I walked off all the power to the server or something like that

I’m a solo player with 1.4k hours and a full-time job who has played solo/duo/trio weekly servers for the last year. I’m not that good, but I’m also not that bad at the game. I’m also not having fun playing the weekly servers because whenever I finish building my compound and base and get Workbench 3, the server is already dead and the wipe is coming to an end.

The question is, are the biweekly servers more active than weekly ones?
Are they much harder than trio ones?
Can I, as a solo with a full-time job, have fun and also survive the wipe without getting raided with a medium base?

I was digging through some old external hard drives and found a folder from 12 years ago—back when \[Black Forest Gaming\] was my primary project.

The game has changed a massive amount since then. Back then, it was raw, glitchy, and honestly, we spent most of our time just trying to stop people from clipping through walls. But the community? That was the best part.

We’ve decided to bring the BFG project back to life for this next wipe cycle. I’m curious—for the veterans who have been around since the early days, what’s the one "old-school" feature or vibe you miss the most in modern Rust?

And for the newer players, what’s the biggest frustration you’re facing in the current meta?

I’m aiming to build a server that balances the old-school "community-first" feel with the performance and QoL features we actually need in 2026. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I been playing Rust for 400hrs and the hardest thing to do is to get guns during early wipe or the whole wipe in general,I try to get guns by doing everything like grubbing, snowball,pvp and also crafting but with the bp update it is hard to get tier 2 because of clans and grubs and also all the but i either get massive gear or dying during a fight or grubbing but the dude had more protection than me the only way I get guns is from late wipe decayed bases when the player pop is dead and I don’t want that because I don’t want to find guns from a decayed bases I want to earn the guns and the pop to be high.I know to run to every gun shot and not get greedy but I always die. And it also harder to guns late wipe. My aim is pretty good in my opinion I want good game sense Is there any tips to not have gear fear/ not get my heart beating fast/hands shaking/nervous/ and get t2 and t3 guns during the wipe any tips would be useful. Sorry for bad English/ spelling, English is not my first language

As the tittle says I am getting bad performance (fps) in game and my specs are not that bad. I have a rtx 5070, an i9 14900k (sligthly undervolted because I have a small AIO), 32gb of 3200hz RAM and the game is running on a fast ssd.

In all other games I play I get very good fps.

I have updated my bios, uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics driver (using DDU), I have overclocked my gpu and ram. Additionally, it doesnt matter what I set my settings to in game the fps is still the same (sometimes in the 80s when I am in the ocean but most of time it sits at 50 to high 70 when running around and can go as low as 40 in safe zones.

My gpu usage never really climbs above 60%, and none of my cpu cores are being fully used either (I have forced rust to only use p-cores). I have also increased the GC, used the following boot up commands "-high -cpuAffinity 0x00FF" and tried to force a better performing dlls onto the game using the Nvdia app.

What can I do to fix this and what is causing the issue?

i got my main account banned 525 days ago to be exact, i won't lie that was my fault i had cheat engine open and forgot to close it now before you run to conclusions cheat engine is a offline cheat for like story games and whatnot, anyways my point is i got banned 525 days ago and then like 4 days ago i bought rust on a different account and got banned there, i was in a family share with my main account that got banned from rust and the same main account email was linked to the different account that i recently bought rust on, my question is am i HWID banned or not? because i just want a fresh start at rust and want to play again, i won't ever cheat in rust ever but that was my question and i hope you see this and respond.

anyone with knowledge of rust bans please let me know i am losing my mind and don't want to waste money proving anything.

i have also made a appeal of my ban on EAC because after all it's been 525 days but EAC support is shit.

P.S - i remember my main account's ban said GAMEBANNED i think but i am pretty sure the recent account i bought rust in said PUBLISHER BANNED.

I mean seriously if something is to good to be true it usually is , what could of bin the best game of the decade to release on mobile turned out to just be a massive flop thats not even from facepunch themselves

They changed it, its some other game that tencent produces but with a rust skin. No server browser, health bars, completely different enemies and ai, factions with progression and in game skill rewards, lower weapon recoil, different rules for raiding and being raided, warnings for raiding, pop-ups, different weapon damages, different ui restrictions like you can only have two ranged weapons accessible without opening your backpack and you cant put ranged weapons in your tool bar because they have to go in a special slot a, etc.

Seriously, who tf asked for these changes?? No one that has ever played rust will be happy to play this mobile version. everyone was finally excited to play rust on their phones instead of oxide but SOMEHOW oxide got the core mechanics translated better than tencent? How is that possible!

I was thinking about playing Rustymoose premium biweekly tommrow on wipe, US btw. how does pop last, how long do you get deceant amount of people.
