Since we know it was Laura attacked at the Rusty Lake by a corrupted soul, do you think the corrupted soul could be Alexandra Vanderboom because she knew that Laura was the reincarnation of William and wanted to get revenge?

There's been a recent discussion about what people want to see next, and the general consensus was that there would be no point to have another game featuring the Eilanders, as their story is finished.

Servant left me with an itch for more Rusty Laky, so i replayed older games, including Paradise and i don't necessarily agree with that sentiment.
While yes, the Eilander's general role in the overarching story and their fate is told, i think one detail could need some answers:
How exactly Caroline Eilander came to discover the Elixir, the center piece that started it all.

We know that she's the one who discovered the formula... but how?
Where did the idea come from?
I think there's still plenty of potential for either a game starring Caroline in the process of discovering the Elixir and working out its formula or a future game having a peek into the past to highlight it a little more.

According to tutorials, i tried entering the coordinates for cabin before I entered the coordinates for the white cube but I got nothing. Then I tried entering the coordinates after I got the cube but before I fished it out and nothing. I just don't understand itttt. FYI for all the players out there you do not need to play the whole cave game before getting access to the submarine. Just remember the pattern to enter into the door and it opens!! Diamond and match box come into your inventory automatically

Hey, guys! A long-time theorist here and an important question I once asked was In what order should you play Rusty Lake to understand the story the best and hopefully get a better experience?

For your info, I 1st played mostly out or order and it was fine. I was lucky though cause it could be worse and even then I didn't grasp a lot until I replayed the games several times.

The indended release order is fine too. The devs have a plan, they reveal secrets gradually and often build upon older games. It's just not perfect. The more games come out, the less focused it gets and it's harder to remember the details once they suddenly become important again.

Analysing the games and remembering my 1st experience, I've came to a conclusion that the release order is tweakable. Not all games and reveals are equally important all the time as long as there's no outright spoilers. You can still get a full picture no matter the order you get the pieces in.

So for the sake of newcomers I've engineered my order, you are welcome to use it next time you replay the series. It may look intimidating but it's just me being meticulous with details. Nerdy options are totally skippable.

But now we have Servant of the Lake to add and the only game it has strong ties to is Roots and I don't know how to arrange them. Both have pros and cons.

!!!!SPOILERS!!!!

Roots -> SotL

+ It's the intended order by the devs.

+ Roots introduce the elixir of life and death that unexpectedly kills James to our shock.

+ Roots introduce the alchemist brothers as mysterious scheamers pulling all the strings.

+ It's harder to figure out that one of them is Crow and the other is the real MC. If you do that early, it feels rewarding.

+ SotL deconstructs the brothers, shows them as young stupid and petty morons that reconcile in the end and eventually become great.

± SotL introduces Alexandra as an obvious afterthought. We know something's probably gonna happen to her.

- SotL tries to kill lil James but we know he's alive in Roots so it kills the suspense.

SotL -> Roots

+ It's a chronological order easy to follow

+ SotL introduces Alexandra and James and it feels more natural.

+ The endgame suspense is preserved and the final twist hits harder.

± SotL works as the elixir introduction just fine. It's not as powerful but it isn't clear about the elixir being able to kill, so no spoilers for Roots here.

± You meet the brothers with no context. You still get to see their growth but you care slightly less and get no deconstruction.

± Minor vague spoilers about their fate. Easier to recognize Aldous as Mr. Crow, and thus easier to piece together the true story of Roots early when he calls us his brother. The story becomes more clear but less mysterious and probably less rewarding for big brains.

Everyone seems to agree on who the player character is in hotel, but how you know?

since a previous level (Preparing Dinner) had a puzzle of aldous reacting in all kinds of ways to the baked potatoes (swollen eyes, swollen chin, swollen ear etc) and the dinner level (Serving Dinner) indicated that aldous has an allergy and to watch out for that, naturally i assumed that what the clue meant was the potatoes. i felt so smart. i felt so clever.

it was not the potatoes :(

Here is some of the interesting stuff that I've found that might indicate the new ARG/Additional game stuff. (No idea whether it was discussed on this sub before)

1. On the OG version of the website, scroll down to the (absolutely gorgeous) fanarts and click on sleeping Rustie

2. Then, the new mirrored version of the website appears (it's essentially the same, but all of the text is reversed, and the video on the front page is slightly different). Then, you scroll down and click on sleeping Rustie again

(If you click on Rustie in the middle, then it just sends you to the updates page I think)

3. Then, a new version of the website appears, and if you scroll down again, you can now see the mammoth with the following text written

There are again mirrored funky letters, but the text says:

And this is how far I have managed to get. I am assuming the text refers to the video in this version of the website, which is slightly different from the video in the main version. So I wanted to ask for your thoughts on this.
