Replacing Rooftop AC Unit

Looking for some information on selecting and replacing a RV rooftop AC unit. I have a 30A travel trailer and the current rooftop unit doesn't perform well. The air blows cool, no cold and it can not keep up with the heat oin our area. I've been researching units and the Furrion Chill Cube keeps popping up. 18k BTU and an AMP draw of 15.5A. Here's my questions:

  • Are all AC units generally interchangeable, as in if it's on a 20A circuit, I can replace the current unit with most any unit under 20A draw?
  • What electrical considerations should I have when selecting a replacement unit?
  • Is the cut out in the roof a standard size or should I expect to have to expand said opening?
  • My understanding is the Chill Cube doesn't connect to an existing thermostat. So when I disconnect the current thermostat from the existing AC unit, will the furnace continue to function without issue?
  • The current unit is ducted. Do I need to get a distribution box for in addition to ordering the ducted Chill cube?

What other considerations do I need to think about when changing out my existing unit for the Chill Cube?

Have warm fridge, cold freezer on propane

I have a Norcold N7X 2 way (AC and propane) fridge in my 2019 Jayco. The freezer is very cold (5 degrees), and the fridge is very warm 55 degrees. I don't use AC, this is just on propane. There is a strong blue flame, I changed the thermistor, trailer is level, there is no yellow powder behind the fridge indicating a leak, ventilation behind the fridge is fine, it is not blocked. Every source I have read or watched online says this indicates a clog in the coolant lines, but I have a hunch this is not the problem. A friend has the same problem with his Dometic, he removed his fridge and turned it upside down to "burp" the coolant lines to free up the clog, and it did not work.

One thing that I read, and is interesting, said that the aluminum cooling fins in the top of the fridge have a backing plate that is attached to the coolant lines with a thermo conductive mastic. Sometimes this mastic turns dry and crumbly, and no longer conducts the cold. It said I could unscrew the fin plate, and look behind it, but I don't think I have seen these screws inside the fridge.

Does anyone have an idea?

Would this work? Current ideas & I wanted to add 4 posts and put up a shade cloth for now.

Let me put it at the beginning to please be kind or scroll on there. There’s no need for negativity or argumentative stuff in the comments

OK, so solid lines are what already exists. Dotted lines are my current plans. The existing porch is most likely going to be a screened in porch and then for the rest of the three-quarter 2/3 whatever wrap around porch parts of it definitely need to be enclosed like the bathroom area but I was thinking maybe half wall half screened in for the rest of it? Maybe eventually shutter it up for winter time so that everything stays warmer?

The budget is extremely tight. I am disabled so I’m gonna have to do this in little tiny increments with reclaimed materials that I get for free so bear with me.

As far as the shade cloth, it is so hot here I can’t handle it and I was wondering if a shade cloth would help reduce the temperature like it does for plants. I found a 20 x 30‘ shade cloth and I was thinking if I put posts about each corner of the RV and a few feet out to the sides, I could attach the shade cloth to it and it would bring the temperature in the RV down.

I know a roof would be more ideal, but the shaded cloth is a lot more affordable for right now and I can just put the roof up as I’m able to?

And if anybody has suggestions on the best type of roof, that would be great I was kind of thinking a metal one because I need to do rainwater collection since I don’t have running water, but I don’t really know

KIND ADVICE IS ALWAYS WELCOME AND APPRECIATED

Floor/ side falling down

The floor and side of my trailer are falling out. I tried to place a temporary brace along the back of the toy hauler gate and it didn’t work. How can I fix this?
