Anyone else wish that The Boroughs on Netflix didn't get canceled?

My whole life I’ve always been attracted to only tall guys but ever since watching the World Cup and seeing all those hot tall soccer players, my fetish has significantly intensified. I’m only 5’2 so I’m super short for a girl and standing next to a 6 ft guy is already a big height difference for me and I feel like they’re a giant standing next to me but since my fetish has escalated, I now look for 6’5 which is insane. Hello, not sure of proper etiquette around posting looking for friends, but here it goes!

I’m 32M looking to expand my friend groups in SD. I’ve been here for about 2 years (SF for 10 yeas before) and I’ve got a good group of friends, but it never hurts to grow my community/network/circles - especially as we’re getting older.

A bit about me - I work in tech (gaming & advertising), I love cooking and trying new restaurants, I’m relatively fit and active (although I could definitely do more), i love game nights (poker/ board games), fantasy football, being out with friends (I don’t drink or but it doesn’t bother me being around it/ going to bars), beach days, social mixers, video games, philosophy, arts, dogs, etc. (I’d love to learn DND, just never had the opportunity)

My taste in music is a mixed bag- mostly alternative, rock, punk, metal, country, rap. Not an EDM fan tho.

I’m always looking for ways to get more involved in the community or just make friends who want to get together and discuss life.

P.s I have a pass to comic con but I haven’t made any plans around it. I’d love some event recommendations or folks to meet up with!

I'm hoping to relocate to the North County area—ideally Encinitas, Carlsbad, or Oceanside—by the end of January from Las Vegas (earlier if I can secure a position with relocation assistance). I've been researching the area for a while, but I'd love to hear directly from people who live and work there.

A little about my background:

- 12+ years in IT, primarily supporting healthcare and hospitality organizations.

- Experience ranges from Help Desk/Desktop Security Support to Systems Administration and Systems Analyst roles.

- I've worked with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualization, networking, endpoint management, application support, EMRs/EHRs, POS systems, and cross-functional project work. I enjoy troubleshooting, process improvement, and bridging the gap between technical teams and end users.

I have a few questions for locals and anyone working in IT:

- What's the current IT job market like in the area(s)? (Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas, Del Mar, La Jolla, San Diego, etc.)

- Are there particular healthcare systems, hospitality companies, or other employers that have a good reputation?

- Is it realistic to find mid-level Systems Administrator or Systems Analyst positions locally, or are most opportunities centered closer to San Diego?

- For those commuting from Carlsbad or Oceanside, how manageable is the drive if the job ends up being farther south?

- If you've relocated to the area, is there anything you wish you had known beforehand?

I'm also interested in general relocation advice:

- What are some neighborhoods you'd recommend in or around Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas? (We have visited multiple communities in the area, my wife and I want newer apartment communities that are closer to the beach, 10-15 minute drive at most)

- Any companies that provide relocation assistance?

- Are there local networking groups, tech meetups, or professional organizations worth joining?

I'm looking for a place where I can build a long-term career and become part of the community, while raising a family of three to four (Wife, kids (Future), and myself). Any advice, recommendations, or even warnings would be greatly appreciated.

We have visited the area several times and are very set on northern San Diego, we are wanting a 1-1 or 2-2 apartment between $3,100.00 - $4,000.00 monthly. Is this realistic?

Hello, my name is Cris I'm a 21 year old woman

My dad recently kicked me out of the house and since he poisoned my whole family against me since I didn't want to give him papers (long long story... he'spetty and crazy), I have no support in the states and came to Mexico to live with my mom

I live in Tijuana and can cross back and forth

We know finding a job is hard and if where you work they're hiring and you can recommend me that would help me so much find some stability

I've been working at factories for a while and it's pure slave work. 10 hour shifts, all day on our feet, just awful work environment.

I was dating the brother of my supervisor and she's like his mother idk, she got really jealous and mad at, and now I'm her target, she went to my work area and we're usually 2-3 people preparing material for a machine, well she made them change gloves and with the excuse that they would get chemicals on the material (we all have contact with the chemical, idk what she was on), she made them stop doing their job and left me to do the work of 3 people all by myself while every one else just stood there waiting on the machines.

I've had enough of it.

If you live near the San Ysidro border and this reaches you, please help me get out of this hell hole I've been applying for jobs for a long time and nothing, nothing at all.
