What card do you pair with your CSR for better lounge access?

30F in Florida and I travel for work almost
every week. I already have the Chase Sapphire Reserve and generally like it, but I’m curious what other cards people pair with it.

My biggest complaint is lounge access. Priority Pass has been pretty hit or miss for me domestically in the U.S. A lot of the lounges are either nonexistent in the airports I use most, overcrowded, or just not that impressive.

For those of you who already have the CSR:

What other credit card(s) do you carry alongside it?

Did you add Amex Platinum, Delta Reserve, Venture X, or something else?

Which setup has given you the best lounge access in practice?

If you’re a frequent business traveler, what card has actually improved your travel experience the most?

I admit, this is kinda fun... Spending money on people for free

After having CSR from the beginning I was planning to cancel soon because of the high AF, and I live in the boonies and can't take advantage of most of these credits.

But then I realized I could buy stuff for my sister who lives in Dallas. I just got her 2 tickets to Guns n Roses (better seats, so cost $25), and $150 gift card for a restaurant (cost $0). I can never find good value on The Edit hotels where I travel, but I can get her a staycation without paying much.

It's pretty fun buying people things that don't cost you anything :-)

Hit the sub in 10 days.

The 150k sub bonus reeled me in. Had some summer vacations I needed to book so it all worked out.

Not excited to see if any of the edit hotels can work with this trip, but I’ll try and make it work with points boost now.

Huge Chase Travel Price Gap

Someone help explain the price difference between these two bookings for The Grand Amsterdam. Hoping to use points - points boost is nice - but a huge gap still from the hotel site directly.

I don’t have price match on my account and my outreaches to Chase for any sort of goodwill has been unsuccessful. It’s a refundable booking, but of course it’ll be my luck that I’ll get price match either after this trip or this gap closes.

Canceling the hotel CSP

I currently have CSP hotel bonus I need to use. I saw someone mentioning we can book a refundable hotel get the statement credit and then cancel it.

Did people have success with it?

The Edit - perk reviews

I’m interested to hear from people who have stayed at a Hotel through the Edit program and how they perceived the perks outside of the $250 statement credit.

Did you receive a hotel credit and how easy was it use?

Did you receive a room upgrade? If yes/no did you ask for one?

Did you get early check in/late check out?

If you’ve stayed before please answer these questions and provide the hotel you stayed at! Thanks

Causa Amazonia Gift Card

For those in DC, has anyone recently tried using the Open Table credit on an online gift card for Amazonia/Causa? If so does the credit still apply?

Referral link for Sapphire Reserve New Signup

As title says, I'm looking to signup for CSR. I saw general link for 150K bonus miles but heard ppl are offering $75-100 extra signup bonus for using a link. I guess they recieve $150-250 as a referral bonus and they're sharing in that.

If you'd like to me use yours, pls PM me ASAP.

I am unclear on the Edit benefit, trying it for the first time soon.

So I am trying a hotel, and it is the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel by IHG. I chose this one because it's not too far a drive from us, and decided to try it out for a special occasion. I called them because I wanted to verify perks before I book. This is what I found out :

-perks-

breakfast $30 each, or $60 for 2. This makes sense, as CSR benefit is breakfast for 2.

room upgrade-day of-they will typically upgrade when they get the booking in, which is nice, to not have to ask on the day of.

$100 property credit - can be used for rooftop pool drinks/food, room service, valet-ok works for me.

THEN I got to the food and beverage credit.

$100 food and beverage credit-they said they don't have this. is this supposed to be it's own perk or is it the same as the property credit? I read that they are 2 different things. attached a pic of what I think to be the benefits. thanks!

Paze Bonus - Airbnb purchase

Posting this as a DP for those who like to use Airbnb or are trying to take advantage of the Paze bonus active through the EOY. Purchased an Airbnb gift card on Newegg using Paze and my CSP. Received the 10x bonus for using Paze as well as the 1x for general spend. Newegg also sells Doordash, Uber eats, Delta, (and similar) gift cards so would assume this would work for those as well

New benefit - 14x UR on United Flights if you use Paze.

Noticed a new benefit on my Chase cards (including CSR) that you can get 10x UR points if you choose to pay through Paze (it's like Paypal but I guess Chase has a hand in it). Paze only has a handful of merchants that accept Paze but one of them is United. You also get your standard card earning rate - so in the case of CSR - that's 14x UR on United (you can only book direct on United not through the Chase portal) which is pretty awesome.

The Edit - Kimpton Canary Santa Barbara

I booked a 2 night stay (Thursday-Saturday) at the Kimpton Canary Santa Barbara, California, through Chase Travel. This is currently a The Edit property. I booked with my CSR. This was my experience.

This property is eligible for both The Edit $250 and IHG $250 annual CSR travel credits and both were applied to my statement for $500 total.

On confirmation email from Chase Travel the following cardmember benefits were listed:

-Daily Breakfast for 2 (This came in the form of a $60 daily breakfast credit that may be used at the hotel restaurant or for room service. I charged breakfast to my room and the credits were applied accordingly).

-Room upgrade at check-in, if available (I booked a standard king room and was not upgraded. I will say I did not ask for an upgrade, but it was on the list of benefits the desk provided. They also thanked me for being an IHG platinum elite member which includes room upgrades, but still no mention of that perk. There were room upgrades available, because I checked the app before checking in).

-$100 property credit (this was applied automatically. It helped cover the $55 valet parking charge and some restaurant charges not covered by the daily $60 breakfast credit).

-Early check in (didn’t arrive early enough to try)

-4pm guaranteed late checkout (this benefit was not honored. I inquired at check in how late I may checkout. Front desk said to check back on day of checkout, because it depends how busy they are. I asked again on day of checkout and was told 12pm was latest checkout available. 12pm is the standard checkout time for this property. They did say we could stay parked there and use the amenities such as the pool until 4pm. They also held our bags until we were ready to depart the city).

-Welcome Amenity (waiting in my room upon checkin was a note thanking me for booking with Chase Travel along with three delicious cookies and 2 small bottles of San Pelligrino).

Although I was bummed to miss out on the room upgrade and late checkout, it was a great stay. The location is 10/10. Walking distance to anything you want. Beautiful area. Comfortable clean room and bed. All staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a high price tag, but brings a lot of value with it.

Palace Hotel in SF (The Edit stay)

Stayed at The Palace hotel in SF last weekend and it was wonderful. We received all the benefits promised, had delicious breakfasts, used the $100 resort credit with no issue, were given a super late checkout for our flight, and overall had a 10/10 experience. Highly recommend if anyone is trying to figure out where to use their Edit credit

CSR $300 Travel Credit Strategy

CSR’s $300 travel credit is the easiest card benefit - no portal requirement, no activation, no hoops to jump through. Just charge a travel related expense and it is automatically credited.

However, it is beneficial to plan which expenses will receive the credit. Why? Because you do not earn UR points on the $300 credit. Given the UR multiplier for different categories, you could lose out on UR points.

Example, got an upcoming trip and you have not used the travel credit - purchase 1x travel items first (museum tickets, train tickets, tours, etc.). When you have charged over $300, then book air and hotels. That way you will receive the 4x or 8x (depending on if using portal) UR points.

I didn’t think of this my first year with the CSR but I did this year. Hope this is helpful.

Anyone else not receiving full Doordash monthly enrollment credit?

I opted in per Chase benefit of covering up to $120/year enrollment. Well it turns out a full reimbursement is not being provided. 9.99/month charge and $9.84 reimbursed. Anyone experience the same? Only a few cents, but still - no being given what was advertised.

I reached out to Chase, and they said not their problem - call Doordash, it's their issue??

Issue with price match CSR

I booked a hotel in Las Vegas (Edit property) for 7/1 through 7/3 stay for $499. I got the $250 refund for using an edit property and this eligible for free cancelation until end of June. I was not aware of the price match guarantee within 24 hours of booking as this booking was made in April.

Now when I am checking the hotel price on Chase (same deal) and the hotel’s website, both prices are significantly lower than what I paid.

If I cancel the booking and make the booking again, will they take back the $250 credit and then give it again to me?

Advise needed folks!
