If I used points in booking an Edit Hotel, will I be able to get the $250 statement credit? Another question, how do you stack up the edit hotel credit and hotel credit?

Gift card usage triggered CSR charge

I bought a $150 GC for Mott St (CHI) before the July 1st Opentable Dining Credit deadline. I used the whole gift card last weekend and it triggered a charge on my CSR for the same amount. I didn't use my CSR as the waiter scanned the QR code on the GC. The charge later posted and also deducted from my JUL-DEC dining credit.

I called Chase and opened up a dispute. Now I have to produce proof that I actually used the gift card and not my CSR.

Anyone else run into this issue using Toast GC's?

Edit 1: The gift card balance is still full and the charge is under the tap-to-pay transactions under my CSR. Also, the CSR is my default payment for tap to pay.

Gathering all the evidence, I think what happened is that I opened the gift card in my Google wallet. The waiter was having trouble scanning the GC so he moved the payment terminal right next to my phone and triggered the tap to pay.

No price match in CSR?

Anyone out there still not seeing an option for price match when you book through the Chase portal? I don’t see anything in the app or in the email that I received confirming my reservation.

Another option for managing cards and benefits

Hi all, I’m a long time holder of CSR and credit card enthusiast. I created an app to make managing my credit cards more enjoyable. Spreadsheets were ok but I wanted to improve on the experience with a native mobile interface and use the data to create visualizations and gain insights about my portfolio from basic things like am I breaking even on annual fees to more random things like have I earned more ultimate rewards points from sign-ups than membership reward points. I also wanted the app to be able to capture more niche things like product changes and lounge visits. The app is called Cardsy and you can find it in the Apple App Store (no android available yet) if you want to give it a try. Open to any feedback and suggestions.

CSP $10 Monthly DoorDash Credit

Does anyone have a strategy to use the $10 monthly non-restaurant DoorDash credit in such a way to get the most value out of it?

I was playing around adding items from grocery stores and convenience stores, but really the $10 isn't all that useful when it comes to delivery. It really just seems to cover delivery/other fees and tip.

Stacking your edit credit back to back at the same hotel for four night stays won't work anymore. You have to change hotel to use the second edit credit. You can't stack two and then two again to get the edit credits to work. They consider it as one stay at the same hotel 🤷

Best Benefit for Chase Sapphire Preferred Card

What are the best benefits you like in the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card?

I liked the Global Entry, DoorDash, Apple TV membership, DoorDash $10 monthly credit, and $100 annual hotel credit. I've been using all of them in the first month since having this card. Did I miss any benefits?

Can book stay with Edit right before downgrading card?

Hello

I have a Sapphire Reserve that had the annual fee hit on 8/1. Due to some other stuff going on, I was not able to use up any of the hotel stay credits yet this year.

If I understood correctly, I should be able to downgrade or cancel the card by 8/30 or 8/31. My concern is more to understand if I can get any insight on the chance of clawback if I go ahead and book a stay to use the credits (Edit+IHG+$300) as soon as this week and then call Chase to downgrade the card by 8/30?

Any insight is appreciated!

Property credits two reservations

I reserved two rooms for the intercontinental San Diego . We are a party of 5 we have three kids and my soon to be 18 next month will be staying with my 11 yr old and my husband and my youngest in another room. So my question is will we be able to receive the two breakfast and the $100 hotel credit for both stays or just one. We booked two rooms. I tried getting price match and only received $40 back on each room. But if I will not get the breakfast or the credit I should have received a lot more than $40 since the price match did not have breakfast.

Timing of A-list status activation

I just received notification that my CSR spending hit the $70K to unlocked benefits. I have three trips before December I need to book very soon (one solo, one with friend, one with 4 family members). How long did it take for the activation of the Southwest A-list status? I have used my Southwest card for the perks of boarding, seat selection, checked bag (and used CSR for hotel and everything else), but it seems like the A-list will provide now. I just don’t want to wait two weeks while the activation is in progress; flight prices are good now. TIA

Question about paze

It seems like paze is very glitchy or maybe im doing something wrong. Whenever I try to order dunkin or Wendy’s it always says “Paze is unavailable”. It works perfectly fine with Dominos. Is there anything I can do so I can access it for those?

Lyft credit and Stubhub credit looking worse for value?

This article seems to support the monthly $10.00 benefit for lyft isn’t entirely as advertised(or impressive)

consumer reports

*between this and the news that stubhub also manipulates values ( $150.00 credit looks way less impressive) it does seem like the reserve card is tiering towards less value at least with two of the “rewards” offered

Stacking edit $250 credit with $250 IHG credit and price match

I recently booked a two-night stay at the Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa. The booking triggered both the $250 Chase The Edit credit and the $250 IHG credit.
I also submitted a price match using the rate available on Super.com, which was approved, and I received an additional $174 credit.
Overall, this turned out to be a great use of the available credits and price-match benefit.

Edit w/MGM hotels Vegas

In a fluke situation, I used my 2 Edit credits in Vegas at MGM resorts. Vdara booked in June for July and Park MGM for last week.

A few things I learned:

(1) Download their app--it will let you get a digital key and never mess with the front desk.

(2) Once within the 72 hour check in window, call the front desk to confirm the $100 credit. The Vdara stay only had $60, which they fixed.

(3) On that same call, ask for early check-in or late check out. I always spoke to super friendly people.

(4) Only certain restaurants are eligible for the $100 credit, but you don't have to use it all in one place. Note it must be for consumable food. Buying a bottle of wine to go at Eataly will get billed. Full list is here:

https://www.mgmresorts.com/en/offers/participating-outlets-text-list.html

(4a) Tips don't count in credit, which was fine with me.

(5) Keep checking the room price. Both of mine went down and I did the cancel and rebook thing. The credit worked as it should both times

(6) I didn't get upgraded, but I also wasn't looking for that, so it didn't bother me.

Chase Edit - What Happens if No-Show?

I have a reservation and used Edit+IHG credit. Not sure if I’ll make it, but I believe I have a 3 day free cancellation. What’s gonna happen if if I don’t cancel by then but do show up. Will they reverse the credits and slap a no-show fee?

Kimpton Aysla Mallorca (The Edit)

Successfully used back-to-back The Edit credits + points for 4 nights at Kimpton Aysla Mallorca. Great experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

100,000 points (2cpp) + $252.25 for 2 nights
98,350 points (2cpp) + $250 for another 2 nights
The Edit credits $250 x2, so basically $2.25 cash out for the stay plus points (at 2cpp value)

Emailed the hotel directly ~1 mo before the trip to confirm and add a note ensuring that we stay in the same room between separate reservations. Hotel concierge is very responsive and helpful, including tips for the Aug 12 solar eclipse, which we viewed from terrace above the bar overlooking the pool.

Room was available at 11am for early check in—always nice when arriving from the US by redeye flight. After some horchata, we opt to go to Porto Vells (20 min by car) ~8:30am instead of hanging out at the hotel pool while they get the room ready. That’s turned out to be the best Euro arrival experience I ever had in leisure or business trips.

Location is ideal for family travel. Close to Santa Ponça (5 min by car) without the crowd and noise. Palma is about 20 min away and you are close to the southern end of Ma-10 for Serra Tramuntana.

Onsite restaurant (Saba) has Mediterranean and Asian fusion food. Breakfast is descent. Dinner time is not the typical Spanish time though; by 9pm they are already wrapping up.

Since the stay is 2x The Edit reservations, we got 2x $100 credits (€85 x2, which covered the cabana for a day and the grandísimo fruit platter). Also 2x welcome chocolates.

There are other The Edit hotels in Mallorca that also look nice or even better, but this was the best one available for Aug 12 when I planned it back in March. Overall, I am happy with the decision to redeem points and using the credits for this hotel.

Can the $250 Credit for The Shops at Chase be stacked in one purchase?

Suppose I will spend $75000 in 2026 and another $75000 in 2027 on my Sapphire Reserve card. Can we buy something of $500 to use the two $250 credits for The Shops at Chase at once?
