Updated scabies treatment that's based on numerous feedback is successful

OK

I'll get straight to the point I stopped posting because for starters I got so busy with my full time job it was difficult but now I have a free minute so I wanna share information I feel will be helpful

I decided to extensively pour over all updated information concerning scabies and I gotta be honest I discovered this sheerly by accident

Sanare labs pulled their 18mg IVERMECTIN im assuming public outlash on it being 100% effective

So by total accident I discovered IVERMECTIN sold on Wal-Mart.com . Sante Medi 18mg ivermectin

Ive had discussions with numerous people and its highly effective. The way they market it so legally they can sell it based on what I've researched it makes sense. The bottle says for Reserarch only

99% Purity!! Not an exaggeration in any way

It gives u directions how to take it but than it says not for human consumption. Bottom line take a dose and work ur way up

Use Benzyl benzoate from Consolidated chemicals. Com. They offer 99% benzyl benzoate

Do ur research on how to apply it

If necessary cut it with coconut oil

And purchase Sterifab

Also look up the term Mazotti effect

Do the necessary cleaning etc and do ur due diligence

People with high mite counts its very effective

U may need to do several weeks but this treatment is effective but I encourage everyone do ur research so ur comfortable and message me if I can help

I'll try and respond when time permits

Is this scabies? It was really itchy for like 20 minutes now looks like this. I have also got the same sort of thing on the top of my feet. But it’s not permanently itchy. It is for around 20mins then stops completely

Is this scabies?

These pictures are from over the last few weeks. I often get dyshydrotic eczema around this time of year but this time it feels a bit different. I’ve been exceptionally paranoid this time due to living in a new (bigger) place. Please help.

I’m losing my mind, doctor told me this isn’t scabies but I don’t believe them

I’ve had scabies now on and off for about 7 months. I’ve done permethrin, malathion and ivermectin. The only thing I found that worked was malathion+ivermectin however my doctor only prescribed me 1 tablet.

They’ve referred me to dermatology but as the wait times could be 3+ months (NHS) Ive tried another course of permethrin when I saw a burrow on my hand. I’ve shown this to the doctor here and they’re refusing to prescribe me any more ivermectin, stating they think it’s not enough to go on. Also, I’m not really itchy at the moment so I’m hoping it’s just me going crazy and not the start of another infestation?

I’m seriously considering just paying for private dermatology just to make sure I get the right treatment or the satisfaction of knowing I don’t need any more.

Does this look like a new burrow? Should I push for more treatment?

Thanks for listening :)

I think this is scabies, but everyone says I’m crazy…

I know it’s hard to diagnose by photos, so I’ll give what symptoms I have. (Just a quick note; the photo i used washes out the redness a lot, so it looks more irritated in person)! Also, it’s on the inside of my forearm if that helps.

I get bad itching, specifically in humid areas, at night, and whenever I move too much with my arm.

I also have scabs forming as you can see, even though I am not a skin picker. I don’t ever pick at anything, and I haven’t itched it to cause that appearance.

As for where I could’ve gotten it? I have no clue. All I know is that I had a few cuts from when I was out in the woods after my dogs ran away, though I doubt it’s related to it. No, I didn’t encounter poison ivy or anything such as that. It doesn’t look like any sort of irritation related to plants to me.

Any help would be lovely!

Those with scabies long term do you find scabies have an extended dormant phase? Like it can have a big patch rash season for three months, then stay relatively dormant for nine months?

Are these burrows ?

This is my 4 year old. We all did Permethrin 6 weeks ago and I stopped getting itchy for a good 2-3 weeks but then it started up again. My daughter has now started getting raised bumps again. And I found these on her feet?

Hello, is this scabies? (Possible 3rd time)

I had an itch today and it was the itch from deep below that you cant just scratch, pulled my pants up and there the bites were, on my lower right leg. I’m internally freaking out right now as I’m supposed to travel tomorrow. I should mention that I haven’t gone outside in a week (work remotely). What do you guys think this is?

Albendazole worked for my friend’s severe scabies

A while back, my friend contracted a severe scabies infection for the second time. We tried almost every solution you can find online, but none of them worked at first. It got so bad that he was honestly suicidal.

Long story short: he is fully recovered now and has been scabies-free for over 6 months.

Here is what we found actually worked in his case:

  • Albendazole (With Caution): He took it consistently over a longer period at a low dosage, as it takes time for the effect to build up in the system. Because the safe and effective dosage varies greatly from person to person, please do your own thorough research and strictly consult with a locally licensed health professional before attempting this. Do not self-medicate blindly.
  • Read Research Papers: Read as many medical and research papers online as you can, especially regarding the treatments you are trying. You will be surprised by how many free resources are out there. Even if some methods or ingredients in older papers seem outdated, studying them will give you a much deeper understanding of the underlying methodology. In our case, this deeper knowledge gave us the confidence to carry on.
  • Dietary Adjustments: We focused on a high-fat, minimal-sugar, and low-carbohydrate diet. However, in my personal opinion, a strict keto diet is not a good idea (even though many so-called health influencers and experts promote it) because it simply isn't sustainable long-term for most people. You need to find a diet plan that works for you, something you can maintain long-term with minimum mental and financial effort.
  • Cleaning is Key: As many on this sub have mentioned before, you cannot overstate how important environmental cleaning is. But just like your diet, you need to come up with a realistic plan, something you can easily execute 100% every single day without burning out. To be perfectly safe, you must keep up both the diet and the cleaning routine for at least a month after all symptoms have completely disappeared.
  • Our Specific Cleaning Routine:
    • Bedding: Sleep only on a cheap air mattress, and clean or replace it often. If money is tight, consider sleeping on the floor every now and then.
    • Clothing: Buy cheap clothes in bulk, wear them only once, and throw them straight into the garbage. This is significantly easier to sustain than washing and heat-drying an entire load of laundry every single day.
    • Daily Habits: If you have the luxury of working from home, just stay naked all day. However, make sure to thoroughly disinfect your desk and chair daily. All in all, be creative and relentless.
    • Daily Wash: Use an exfoliating shower gel and shampoo every single day.
  • Mental Health (Crucial): Take a long walk outside every day for at least 30 minutes to an hour. This is absolutely vital for your mental health when you are on the brink of despair. Treat this "walking therapy" as seriously as you would take any prescription medicine.

Good luck.

Still itchy 3 weeks after second ivermectin dose

I have been on this scabies journey fopr about two months now. After initial confusion from a first GP I went to another who immediately diagnosed me with scabies and prescribed me with two round of ivermectin. I did as told and took one round and another after 8 days. Each time I washed all clothes and bedsheets and dried on highest heat.

It has been 3 weeks since and my itch still persists daily. I wake up every morning at 4am itching. The larger bumps on my body cleared within days after the second treatement but now I have small bumps on my hands again. Even when scabies first started my bumps were barely visible and were never red so it has me worried that it will develop again similarly.

Is it worth getting a consult about another round or should I wait it out?

Update - good news!

Wanted to pop on here and give you guys some good news, especially if you’re struggling to get rid of this horrible thing.
I had scabies for 9 months and had about 5-6 failed treatments. I did permethrin alone a few times then also 2-3 attempts with Ivermectin too. Nothing was working!

This time I decided to do permethrin and ivermectin on day 1, then again on day 10 then the big difference, a THIRD ivermectin treatment on day 20. I haven’t had a single burrow for about 4 weeks and the itchiness has gone.

I got so down and read lots of people say that ivermectin etc doesn’t work and you need to do sulphur baths etc etc… I’m proof it does, even after failed treatments. I would rly recommend doing that third treatment.

Hope this helps

Cured… kind of

Caught scabies August 2025. Likely through sex as I had nodules on my groin.

Did the cream permethrin which seemed to work but then it flared up again. I had followed the cleaning protocol during this time.

Eventually bought privately ivermectina. This worked straight away. I really recommend this.

What I would say is be cautious of over treating. If I had listened to some of the advice I’ve seen here my body would not be in the shape it is now!

I had identical symptoms flare up post ivermectina. Not as much itching. No new burrows. The nodules reappeared on my groin but went a few days later.

I’d say if in doubt. Wait a few days before thinking you still have it. The main thing is the itching for me. Once you’re past that you’ll always know whether it’s post scabies (I appreciate we are all different)

Now other than my message of hope to those who have it. I am dealing with the after effects of this awful thing!!! Since the beginning I’ve had spots near my groin which appear to almost to, flare up again, before almost going again.

Has anyone had a similar thing?

I have tried shampoo, antibiotics, steroid cream. I’ve been seen by a dermatologist once who prescribed elocon but not convinced it’s working as it seems to flare up even worse now.

Some doctors think folliculitis but who knows!

I have another dermatologist appointment in a few months!!

I had it 2 years ago.

I just want to share my story and hope it helps someone.

I got scabies approximately 2 year ago trying a pair of jeans at a store. Two days later I noticed two very itchy pimples on my knee. A few days later I started waking up around 4am and noticing 2-3 new itchy pimples every night. I thought we had bedbugs. 10 days later going crazy trying to find bug i realized that it's living in my skin. Scabies on my legs looked like watery pimples 1-2 inchesapart. Eventually I got them on my arms and saw lines. I went to a walk in clinic told them my symptoms an since the itch was at night they agreed it's scabies and prescribed Permethrin.

Applying permethrin for the first time was a nightmare. I had some allergic reaction. It didn't work and continued spreading too around 40-50 pimples. I did permethrin again and again. Tried oils and other things that I wouldn't recommend, it's just waste of time.

What worked is applying full body per protocol for 3 rounds, plus applying every other day on affected areas only, plus (important! ) rub it permethrin with a cloth into pimples. I used an old clean cotton sock that I cut in pieces. I never used cloth twice not to spread. Rubbing in made a huge difference. I know it's gone because some itchy spots stop itching in 12 hours and don't come back. You have to apply again in 2-3 days for 3-5 more rounds on spots only to treat eggs and new scabies. When it's gone even really bad spots drying and healing in 4-5 days. If it's not drying and still red, treat it again.

I a scientist, I read about scabies life cycle and believed they can't survive more than 3 days on the surface. From my personal experience, it's not true. I got it a month later on my leg in the area that was clean. I refused to believe for a week it was back, but the itch a barrows were obvious. I used permethrin just for that area rubbing with a cloth. It was gone in 10 days. I got it 3rd time 2 months later. I could've been living in my mattress or blankets even it steamed and washed everything.

It's been almost 2 years scabies free. Mentally I healed, but will never forget. I still have permethrin just in case...

I noticed that Calamine Spray helps with itch and slows the spread. You can use it in between treatments. Don't use oils. They clug up pores and make permethrin less effective.

Could This Still Be Scabies Even If the Skin Scraping Was Negative?

Back in March, I traveled to my home country and stayed at my mom’s house. A few weeks later, around April 11, I noticed a few small, red, itchy bumps—just one or two at first. But over time, they spread across my arms, shoulders, chest, waist, upper abdomen, knees (especially behind them), legs, and even feet. At first, I thought it was just a bug bite, so I ignored it.

However, a baby in my household had been diagnosed with scabies, and I now suspect I may have caught it from him since we shared the living room where I slept.

After returning to the country where I work, I went to a doctor. During my visit, they scraped some of the bumps and checked them under a microscope. They told me it didn’t look like scabies because it didn’t follow the usual scabies pattern and I didn’t have visible burrow lines. They advised me to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist instead.

I went back a second time because the itching was getting worse, but I’m still waiting for my dermatologist appointment, which is scheduled for June 23. I honestly can’t wait that long because this has already been going on for weeks and it’s becoming unbearable.

In the meantime, the doctor prescribed me benzyl benzoate lotion, which I apply from neck down to my feet, along with cetirizine antihistamine for the itching. Just yesterday, I also tried permethrin cream.

Has anyone experienced something similar where the scraping was negative but it still turned out to be scabies? Or could this be something else?

Frustration after multiple treatments…

Hi all. I’ve been lurking on this subreddit for some time now. I’m 23, female, in the UK, and I came into contact with someone who had scabies back in February this year. He failed to tell me he did scabies treatment 2 weeks before we started sleeping together (told me after our third time being intimate). I was rightly freaked out and tried to seek treatment straight away. I’ve never been in contact and didn’t even know what it really was until this year. I didn’t know it was quite psychological and I’m a very anxious person so I believe I caused it to flare fast, I don’t know.

I went to the clinic and they didn’t treat me because it didn’t look like scabies, did a sexual health test (negative) and waited. The itching became worse, particularly on my thighs so I went to another clinic. The doctor was very dismissive and, I quote, said ‘I’ll just give you the permethrin because you’re clearly freaking out’. I did what I was told by a friend and on the packet. Stripped my house, my housemates treated, did the two rounds, no change. Went to my GP, they didn’t believe it was scabies but told me how to do the permethrin correctly, so I did so. Surprise, didn’t work. We’re onto 4 rounds now.
Went back to my GP, as I was having a separate health concern on top of this issue. She prescribed me a steroid cream and more permethrin. Me and my housemates retreated but I only did one round of this one.
The flare ups became significantly worse and so, I went back to the GP at the end of April and tried to demand a blood test and brought forward all of my skin documentation pictures. They scanned one part of my hand and said I still have active scabies. I kind of freaked and tried to get a different answer, some guidance, anything. They gave me ivermectin and that was that.

So, I did the tablets, stripped my room, isolated myself and my stuff pretty much. (I’ll also add that I have left my house multiple times for multiple days and left my room stripped and isolated) I’ve been sleeping on an airbed in a sleeping bag liner, religiously washing my belongings, bagging things up, using antihistamines (gone up to histahive now), eurax and steroid cream, as well as a wash. Now, the severity of my itching went down, in fact it went after the first dose, and the second, but now, I’m watching it creep back in. I don’t know if I’m seeing new burrows, I’ve never seen a wavy line but the itching is reappearing in the previous areas. I have extensively researched post scabies and I believe I am in the post period but I’m really starting to lose hope.

No one. And I mean no one I have been in contact with has contracted this. My housemates, family, friends, no one. I have done everything and this is really starting to take a toll on my mental health. I’m trying to not think about it and redirect my focus but I’m just hitting dead ends. I wake up with scratches on me, the marks are bleeding occasionally, I haven’t been sleeping well (mainly the atrocious set up of lilo and bag as well as dosing myself up on antihistamines), my body is in pieces because of this and I’m starting to lose hope.

How do I go about this? I’m so so scared of being in contact with anyone and anything in case I contract it again. I can’t do anything more than what I’m doing. I have attached some photos from April which is when it was at its worst but I don’t want to post photos of my arms, legs, or other affected areas. I can provide current photos if needed.
