My fiancé and I live in Scotia and are looking to get married pretty simply and easily sometime over the summer - does anyone have an experience with local city hall or court weddings they could share? Specifically in getting an officiant, scheduling the ceremony, etc.
We’re thinking probably 6 guests max for the ceremony with a larger celebration at a later date. As the non-mushy one in our relationship I feel very out of my depth in planning even something quick like this - never really expected to be getting married, to be honest!
I know getting a friend ordained to officiate is an option, it’s not something we‘re really pursuing but happy to hear about your experience there as well, including where you had the ceremony if it wasn’t a traditional venue.

We are under contract on a house in Schenectady/Niskayuna and it is bit unclear how to check the permits that were pulled on the house in last 10 yr or so. Is there an online portal or similar where I can myself check details?
I called Niskayuna town office and they suggested to file a FOIL (Freedom of Information Law) request; and that they need over 30 days to respond to the request (not sure if they completely understood it). Our inspection period is just 15 days! Any suggestions?

It’s me again we took Antrack from Buffalo to visit SCCC- my son registered and signed a lease for college suites across the street for Fall. Love your little city ! Ate at Katie Obrynes for an early dinner walked around Jay St area - so cute !! anyways ….he may not get a parking pass for the apartments right away - what are some options close by free or other paid lots ? Vale Park was part of Vale Cemetery and its namesake until this section was sold to the city in the early 1970s. The Cemetery only retained the burial sections within the park and we've previously hosted some volunteer days to pick up litter along the paths. So we're looking forward to taking part in this event.
