I've been trying to get myself a nice leather jacket for a long time and started hunting for Schotts

I live in Australia, so since Schott doesn't have a store here I've been scouring vintage stores for an A2 bomber. They're quite hard to find here so I got really excited when I came across this and bought it

I looked around online, and this seems to match the appearance of 70s - 80s I-S 674 M-S A2 bombers from that time period. The main thing is that I haven't found any examples of jackets that have aged like this, even ones that were heavily worn.

What caused the jacket to look like this? Is it a teacore leather? And do we happen to know what kind of leather they might have used for this? It's quite sturdy and it might be a steerhide or horsehide. And do we have any idea what the approximate age of this might be?

I just got a Schott and I was going to use it as my all-around jacket. But then, of course, right after I ran out of my return window, I saw this posted on marketplace.

I feel like it’s a steal at $200 but no one has picked it up in a month. I’m wondering if this is a sign that I should get it, or if it’s just not worth the price.

It has a zip in and out liner which is a nice touch.

Size 40, I’m 175 tall and 70kg . Had this for about 5 years but don’t wear it since it’s so stiff and the upper arm bulges outwards. Just tried it on again w my wide pants and I really like the way it looks. Should soften with wear right?

Hi just picked up this 618 off eBay for £150, size 42 (I’m 5’10). It seems to be in great condition.
It fits the shoulders and arms well imo but it’s pretty damn boxy at the waist. I feel like a matador. My previous perfecto was a cheaper (worse) version which had the same shoulder/arm measurements but was more fitted at the waist.

Maybe I just need some time to adjust to the different silhouette?

Embrace the boxiness or sell it and move on?

Hey Guys just purchased a 618 in a size 46 my usual size is 44. I wanted to get the 46 for layering, what do you think does it fit well ? I am 6’2 chest 42

I'm selling a Schott P613s Burgundy size large.
I bought this in store on May 1st 2026 and walked out with it and I'm unable to exchange it. There is some light scuffs and scratches on it from the zippers on the cuffs and inside lapels. Other than that it's very stiff and has not even been broken in yet.

5’7” 155lbs jacket size M

This is a size Large. I bought this jacket on a size Medium the first attempt because schott says to go with a Medium

I have 39 1/2 chest and I’m 6th tall.

I ended up exchanging Medium to a Large because Medium was too restrictive and tight when the jacket is zipped up, and even the sleeves it had to he unzipped to fit.

To be fair the size Medium aesthetically looks good and it only worked if the zippers was unzipped open along with the sleeves.

As for size Large, it feels very comfortable both zipped up and zipped down both jacket and sleeves. Sure aesthetically it may look too big, but that the sacrifice I’m willing to do for functionality and comfort. I ride a motorcycle, and I added this to my rotation for minimal purposes.

In precedenza avevo comprato una 34 del 1980/90, ma era troppo piccola per me

Pensavo che la 36 sarebbe stata meglio, ma non sono ancora sicuro che sia la taglia giusta. Le misure sono simili alla 34 e la sensazione nella giacca è ancora strana, come se non riuscissi a muovermi completamente e avessi un po' di "dolore" sotto le spalle.

Ho anche notato che le spalle sono più strette rispetto alla 34

La 34 era una normale 618, questa nella foto ha un'etichetta bull tag

Can anyone confirm if the s in 141s means it is made from steer-hide? Unfortunately i do not ride a gixxer. Should i leave the emroideries? What do yous think of the fit?

I recently purchased a 1986 156 from a thrift store and had it verified through Schott’s website. I’m curious if their otter wax leather oil is a good conditioner.
