Delft University Creates Self-Replicating Seedbox in Quest for Decentralized Democracy

Delft University Creates Self-Replicating Seedbox in Quest for Decentralized Democracy

superorganism: self-replicating seedbox dashboard

See details on this torrentfreak.com story (I'm the responsible professor. AMA).

Has your printer received a DMCA piracy notice? Has your seedbox been cancelled? You feel The Internet is degraded into dystopia? We need to repair The Internet!

Today we release the first open source code for an attack-resilient network of seedboxes. At Delft University of Technology we have been working for years decades to fix The Internet. We are activists driven by cyberpunk, relentlessly not giving up on this faded dream. With your help we will switch millions billions of users away from YouTube, Netflix, and Spotify slop. Our code released today can convert any Creative Commons licensed YouTube video to Bittorrent. Our community seedboxes operate with collective Bitcoin donations.

A server buying another server with Bitcoins and cloning itself is one of our core defence lines against DNS and DMCA attacks. All seedboxes renew themselves every month. They can buy a VPN in Sweden, Iceland or Switzerland autonomously. We worked since 2016 on self-replicating seedboxes, especially the SporeStack API made autonomous buying of VPS hardware more robust. But be warned: this is cutting-edge "Complex Systems Science" and not yet production-level code.

We're not selling you any token, no AI startup, no advertisements, and no vibe code crap. We simply want our Internet back. Please help and check out our open source code. Tribler has proudly been developed by 316 student volunteers for 21 years. We want strategic autonomy for every citizen. Big Tech is investing $1+ trillion in AI enslavement, we aim to nullify that money. Our seedboxes also enable non-profit collaborative AI. We did decentralised AI before it was cool, in 2012.

With a few fresh millions we're now hiring new phds and post-docs, check out our ideas and apply if interested.

Confused with Sonarr/Radarr file management. Is there a best practice out there?

I have a server on Whatbox with Plex, rTorrent, Sonarr and Radarr. Whenever Radarr downloads a movie, i see the file in my "files" folder as well as in the "Movies" folder + the entry on the torrent client. If i go to radarr and delete the movie from there checking the option to delete the folder and the file, it still leaves the file in the "files" folder. My understanding was that the files are hardlinked, so deleteing one should remove the other. That also leaves the entry in the torrent client, which is now broken, since the file is no longer there, and should be removed manually.

I feel that i do something wrong and wanted to ask if there's a better way of managing files that doesn't leave extra trash that takes my space.

Need Help Setting Up a Seedbox

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to private trackers and have recently joined a few entry-level trackers. My goal is to build ratio while also contributing to the community. I'm planning to get a basic 1-month seedbox to get started.

I've watched a couple of videos on the internet, but I'm still having trouble understanding how to automate my torrent client using RSS feeds from my private trackers, and how to set up Sonarr/Radarr on a seedbox.

Is there a simple, beginner-friendly video or guide that explains everything step by step? I'd really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

New UltraSeedBox Terms and Conditions

I just got an email from USB. Essentially, they're going to monitor files on people's boxes with AI/hashes of known CSAM files etc.

I think that's great. Catch all those bastards and prosecute them!

My issue is that right along with THOSE prohibited materials, they mention piracy under the same terms! Like this (bolded the piracy part):

Prohibited content or activity 5.11.1

CSAM, CSEA, child sexual exploitation, child abuse, grooming, sexual extortion of children, and any related content or activity. 5.11.2

Content or activity that promotes, helps, threatens, or supports terrorism, serious violence, or violent extremism. 5.11.3

Copyright infringement, trademark infringement, piracy, unlawful distribution, unlawful streaming, or any content you have no right to hold, store, download, upload, stream, or share. 5.11.4

IPTV hosting, IPTV sharing, IPTV resale, VOD hosting, VOD sharing, public media streaming, public video libraries, and commercial media access services.

I mean, these guys literally have installers for sonarr/radarr, who are we kidding here?

But I also don't want AI to be scanning this potentially pirated content that may be on my seedbox and linking me to it in the future and degrading my "social credit score" over it lol.

What do you guys think?

An MCP and hosted chatbot interface for Plex/Radarr/Sonarr

Seedbox MCP

https://github.com/tpisel/seedbox-mcp

I built (with claude) a narrow MCP that can sit in your seedbox and let your agent of choice manage your media library. If you don't have an agent you can optionally co-host a small chat interface alongside the MCP that spends a few cents worth of claude API credits to do it for you.

I built this because while my mum is happy to use Seerr to request items, she still had to go through me to delete things after she was done. Now she can use the chat interface directly to:

  • Delete movies or TV shows she's watched
  • Check why something hasn't downloaded yet or what the progress is
  • Get it to search for a different version if the release we have isn't great

I also personally use it (typically via web claude or chatgpt) to pull a list of delete candidates (e.g. films that are large on disk, have had no activity for a long time, and are not well-reviewed) which it can bulk delete. If I am asking Claude for film recommendations in a particular genre, I can also get it to then add them to my Radarr queue directly.

I'm using it on a whatbox slot, where it runs alongside my media servers.

Example use

I paid €2.99, but my account still hasn't gone through!

>My account on GigaRapid still isn't activated, even though I was charged €2.99! I've waited over 13 hours and nothing. I already emailed them with proof of payment, but still no response. What's the hold-up, GigaRapid??? This is definitely the first and last time I'm ever buying from you guys.
