As a Longtime Senna Main, I Hate Her 2XKO Design (Rant)

I've been a Senna fan since before I even played League. I was obsessed with the True Damage's Giants music video and watched it hundreds of times, and Senna was the character who stood out to me the most.

When I finally started playing League, Senna became my first main, and she's still my most played champion after all these years. I love everything about her. She's serious, determined, and her voice lines portray someone who has been through unimaginable hardship yet refuses to give up. She always clings to hope and keeps fighting the darkness, and I also love her relationship with Lucian. Riot absolutely nailed her character.

I also love her cinematics. The moment where she fires her gun to protect Lucian still gives me chills every time I watch it. Across League, the cinematics, and other media, Senna has a very distinct identity and iconic design. That's why I think 2XKO completely missed the mark.

I've given 2XKO two chances already: once during the closed beta launch and again when Akali was added. I actually enjoy the game's overall vibe. Seeing League champions with expanded movesets and all the extra character interactions is really cool. The problem is that the gameplay is a bit too fast and difficult for me, so I couldn't stick with it, especially since none of the characters were champions I truly loved.

So I decided to wait until one of my mains got added.

When I heard Senna was coming, I was incredibly excited. I couldn't wait to see her reimagined in 2XKO's amazing art style with an expanded moveset. But when the first leaks appeared, my initial reaction was disappointment. I didn't like how she looked, but I wanted to keep an open mind and wait for the official reveal.

Then the trailer came out, and my excitement completely disappeared.

She barely feels like the Senna I've grown attached to over the years. her face look different, and I honestly think the hairstyle is awful. It's distracting enough that I don't even enjoy looking at the character. Her gun also feels bland and weightless.

I'm not a fighting game player, but even then, something feels off. Her Wraith Form is a cool idea, but it's tied to a resource that runs out way too quickly, so it never really feels like you're embracing that fantasy.

More importantly, her Mist powers barely exist. I imagined her dissolving into Black Mist to reposition herself, using souls as part of her attacks, or leaning much more into the spectral magic that defines her. Instead, she mostly throws a Mist orb. Meanwhile, Thresh gets the flashy Mist teleportation effects, and the Black Mist souls as projectiles, even though manipulating souls is one of Senna's defining mechanics in League (her W). She even transforms into a tornado at one point, which just feels completely random.

The colors also don't feel right. The white is too clean, and the green is far too saturated. Instead of communicating death, decay, and the supernatural, it gives off more of a vibrant nature magic aesthetic. It loses the eerie feeling that has always made Senna stand out.

Thanks for reading and letting me vent. I know a lot of people will say I care too much about a fictional character. Yeah, I do. Senna is one of my favorite characters in gaming, and seeing a version of her that doesn't capture what I love about her is genuinely disappointing.

If you like her design in 2XKO, that's completely fine, and I'm happy for you. This is just how I personally feel.

What to build for damage support Senna?

With the constant updates breaking and messing with Senna's build, what do I build again??

Dft still the best rune? Still build shiv to apply BC or no? If no more shiv, what replaces it?

ADC vs Support Senna.

Hi! :) I'm new to this game. I started playing Senna support but I'm wanting to learn ADC as my second role since some of my friends like playing Support sometimes. I figured I might as well stick with Senna since I already know and like her. I'm just wondering how different are the two? In what ways does my playstyle and the items I buy change? Do I do more damage as an ADC (outside of buying damage items - I mean is there some passive with ADC/the role quest that gives me more damage)?

Anybody else getting hard flamed in the early game by support due to low dmg?

I know that Senna scales late game, but man her laning dmg is nonexistent imo. Engage supports lose their shit when I can’t confirm a kill. Any ways to avoid this or deal more dmg?

Senna abusers

All of you senna abusers right now, just know I can't wait til you drop 300 lp once riot figures out what to do about this champ.

Complete abomination and the nerfs did not solve the problem at all.

Build against tanks/hp stackers?

Senna isn’t the best against tanks, but I’m pretty sure there’s still a way to itemize against them. What is a proper build against this team comp? Bork and LDR?

[AMA] Got Challenger as Senna - Open for Questions & Happy to Give Advice

Hit Challenger mostly playing Senna support (and ADC here and there) — sharing the mistakes I see new Senna players make and how to fix them.

No pitch, just stuff I wish someone had told me earlier. AMA in the comments.

  1. Spacing & positioning — Focus on forcing trades as much as possible against the enemy support/ADC. Be oppressive, click well, watch for when they're approaching, check wave priority, contest the bush. Always review your first 3–4 minutes of laning: were your clicks good? Did you miss any trades? Did you click backwards too much?

  2. Tunnel-visioning the full-AD build — If your team has enough DPS and the enemy is burst-dependent, you can go an enchanter build to neglect their combo — if they can't one-shot you, you win the fight. Same vs a tanky enemy with slower DPS: if you have enough hypercarries, go enchanter.

- BotRK + Lethal Tempo build vs Mundos/Cho'Gaths when you don't have an HP shredder that game.

- Warden's Mail rush vs Pyke/Draven — they'll tunnel-vision you thinking you're squishy and overcommit, while your ADC has a high chance to kill theirs (bait playstyle, knowing your limits).

People don't abuse their options enough — Tabis, Warden's Mail, double Ruby Crystal early vs heavy-engage bots, etc.

  1. Not abusing the Q sustain advantage — That's why you can make psycho trades and often win botlane prio by trading almost 1v2, if your positioning is on point. Ask yourself: do I win quick trades over time? Because they probably don't have any heal abilities.

  2. Lazy W usage — Put more intention into your Ws. Take your time, wait a second, then press it. It sounds obvious, but trust me, people spam this spell like crazy. Think about the enemy's spells and when to press it: after a certain dash, at a certain angle — picture what's coming and find the best moment.

  3. Playing vs hard engage support — Two ways to play it. Either heavy push — maintain a bigger wave than them and poke — or (what I'd recommend) give the push, hope they perma-push by default, and just scale: wait for your jungler, grab some MS items/boots to dodge and space better early.

The hardcore ones are hook champs. Vs Braum etc. it's playable to push and contest, same with Rakan — but it all depends on the enemy's skill level.

Happy to go deeper on any of these in the comments :)

Does Fasting Senna still work? (explanation below)

Hi,

I'll explain, me and a group of friend are going to participate to a League of Legends tournament, it's very amateurish, the average level probably won't be that high, but that doesn't matter, we're probably just going go to there to have some fun.

Here's the situation tho, I'm going to play botlane as an adc most likely and since my friend who plays support is a very similar player as me, as in we both pretty much play support or adc interchangeably, I want to get cute during drafting and swap roles with him when the occasion presents itself

That's where I was thinking about Fasting Senna. I guess since the support item changes it's pretty much "dead" but assuming I swap to the support role I should get the support item right? And would it still be somewhat viable?

Another nerf coming?

Senna is still the rank #1 ADC and rank #2 support on Lolalytics on the new patch. I think she is likely to get another nerf but I hope it's small and enough to bump her out of high pick/ban rate because I don't want to have to compete to pick her.

My beloved Senna build

I just enjoy doing healing and damage (kinda), Bloodsong is also good its most likely my mood, what yall think?

Why is DTF good?

Forgive the simple question, but why is DTF good over something like PTA on senna? The Q applies the burn for 4 seconds, but the cooldown of the ability is way longer than that, so the burn just runs out before you can extend it. Am I missing something?
