we are literally in the middle of building fish passageways at the ennis creek bridge on 101, and people are trying to clearcut a region upstream. This is an ecologically fragile area where we are actively funding restoration efforts, any logging would be a massive step backwards for the waterway's ecological efforts.

Would appreciate any insight about living in the Dominion Terrace condominiums at 1301 S 3rd Ave in Sequim.

I'm retired, lived in the PNW for 8 years awhile back, currently live on the East Coast, and am looking to relocate back to the PNW. Sequim has caught my eye for a variety of good reasons. This condominium complex fills most of my housing needs. Wondering what it’s like living there. Also, online research shows there are reputable sources for primary care physicians in Sequim and PA that are open to taking new patients. Online sources aren’t always reliable. I’d like local input if possible. Thank you for anything you can share with a potential new resident.

Dry vs semi-dry for sea kayaking in Olympic Peninsula

What kind of dry suits are folks wearing in the Port Angeles/Sequim area for sea kayaking? I tried a few on and so far my favorite is the Kokatat hydrus 3.0. Here are my questions:

How necessary is goretex? I know this model isn’t

Is a semi-Drysuit good enough for the area? I really hate the latex neck gaskets of full dry suits and only want to get one if absolutely necessary.

My husband and i currently live in northern Alaska and packraft in very chill (both in the cold and calm sense lol) rivers. We’ve taken a few tumbles in plain clothes and while we survived, we’d rather not spend a whole day trip drying out. We will be moving to WA soon. We do not have ambitious goals, just sticking to the coast, lakes, and calm rivers.

Craigslist Apartments / Housing Section

OK, so I am looking for a 1/1. I have 3 dogs. I found a guy renting a house share and it said dog friendly. so we talked and he said "only 1 dog, it was in the craigslist post". so i go back to check while we are on the phone, and his post is gone. he checks and says it got flagged by "FPI Management" and that he has to repost. he said they are using 3rd party software and has to repost everyday. so we worked that out, but then i checked something else:

there are a total of 290 posts on craigslist for housing/apartments.

out of the 290, 141 are from this company FPI. they are using automated craigslist software to spam the entire section.

that is literally 48%, or nearly HALF of all the posts. This has been going on for years, and Craigslist admin is absolutly useless.

next, look at Seattle:

1127 out of 9926. so 11.35%

they've got our entire Clallum County Craigslist Apartments/Housing Section dominated.

BUT WAIT, TURNS OUT THEY ARE ACTUAL CROOKS FROM FOLSOM CALIFORNIA, specializing in targeting senior citizens.

"SEQUIM — Vintage at Sequim is one of five apartment complexes in Western Washington whose owners have been sued by state Attorney General Nick Brown along with California-based FPI Management for allegedly engaging in unfair and deceptive practices “at the expense of vulnerable seniors.”

Flock Cameras at Home Depot!

So Home Depot has installed 4 flock cameras. I don’t know if everyone is aware of just how dangerous these cameras are to privacy. They download mass amounts of your vehicles attributes. Down to the stickers you have on the windows.
This all gets uploaded onto a private company database that is accessible by other agencies nationwide.

Job in Sequim, should my wife and I move to Port Angeles, Sequim, or Port Townsend?

Hello! My wife and I (both early 30s) are moving to the area for a job in Sequim. We're coming from remote Alaska, and we like to do all things outdoors (rafting, kayaking, sailing, climbing, running, biking, hunting, fishing). My wife works in public health and will be looking for a job. We can and will be buying a house.

Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on whether or not we should move to Sequim, PA, or Port Townsend. Online the commutes from any of these places seem fine, unless there's something I'm missing? We want to be close to the outdoor activities listed above, but also be near good schools and safe neighborhoods.

How much should job availability play into this? We figure if we're in Sequim and my wife gets a job anywhere from PA to Port Townsend, the commute wouldn't be that bad. But if we're in PA, then that kind of rules out jobs in PT.

Are we missing something about the commutes? What are the benefits of outdoor access in each place? Is PT or Sequim too far away from the mountains to be there every weekend? Just looking for some local opinions
