Cookie Monster

Cookie Monster

Growing up my favorite sesame Street character was Cookie monster. I looked up the Cookie monster as a father figure. I even called My Cookie monster plush dad. When I was growing up my real dad wasn't in my life at all. Because of that I would look up to certain characters from my favorite TV shows as father figures and and Cookie monster was one of them. I never told my mom about it, because I was shy and a little embarrassed to admit it.

I wanted to know how other sesame Street fans feel about this?

Thank you very much for listening and have a great day

Day 4: Who (or what) is this? (Wrong answers only)

Day 3 goes to... Rocco.

(Elmo stares into your soul)

But, at the risk of reigniting the Elmo-Rocco feud, I'd like to turn your attention to this angry man.

Day 3: Who is this? (Wrong answers only)

Day 1's winner was Wheelie Mammoth, and Day 2's Donald J. Grump came out on top.

Now who will earn Day 3?

Day 2: Who (or what) is this? (Wrong answer only)

I got inspired by yesterday's post and decided to create something super over the course of eight days; a shout-out to the Brady Brunch!

But I'll need help; the most upvoted comment will be selected to be featured in the makeshift poster.

Now then, who is THAT?!

Box of Fun

Hi, not sure if this is allowed but reaching out to see if anyone has a Cookie Monster or Abby Cadabby Box of Fun that they would be willing to part with.

My 17year old daughter with non verbal autism has found images online and become fixated. They are from 2010 so can’t find them anywhere to buy. We managed to get the big bird and Elmo ones. But she is still obsessed with the Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby ones.

Happy to purchase and pay for shipping in any condition. We are based in Sydney Australia if anyone knows where to find locally. Thanks

We are

What will Sesame Street do for its 60th anniversary in 2029?

I can't believe that in just a few short years Sesame Street will turn 60 years old. Its extremely unfathomable to me that a TV series of any kind has been running for over half a century continuously. They need to do something extremely huge to honor the power that is Sesame Street.

About the name Sesame Workshop

Sesame Workshop was originally founded as Childern’s Television Workshop in 1968 to produce and own full rights to Sesame Street. Fast-forward to 2000 and CTW: Childern’s Television Workshop changed its name to Sesame Workshop to expand beyond just television production and because nobody knew what CTW was but everybody knew about Sesame Street so they wanted to capitalize Off of Sesame Street’s brand equity.

Would of been better if they used the actual Sesame Street sign

The city of New York rewarded Sesame Street with naming an actual street after the show to commemorate the 40th anniversary at the time. While it’s a prestigious honor it would have made it even more impactful if they had used the actual Sesame Street sign, but i guess they would have had to license it from Sesame Workshop.

About the name Sesame Street

Originally the show was supposed to be named 123 Avenue B, possibly because it included the numbers 123 and the letters A & B” in that sequence. It was eventually scrapped due to the fact of it being an actual street and that the producers felt like it wouldn't resonate with kids outside of New York anyway. Eventually someone on the production team came up with “Sesame Street” because it represents magic and adventure (taken from the phrase Open Sesame) and that it take place on an urban street, plus the bonus of the name being an alliteration. It was unanimously panned by the whole production team but they couldn't find a better name in time so Sesame Street it became with the hopes of the name eventually growing on them.
